yes, it is...and because of the small print, it feels like it's taking longer to read.

I tossed it down in disgust after about 60 pages (still preparing for the festival at that point). The only books I'm likely to read completely are the ones being worked on by Brandon Sanderson right now. At least he writes interesting stories. :)

Finished Dororo volume 1 and volume 2, and now on volume 3...
These books are the basis for the PS2 game Blood Will Tell, which closely follows the storyline of the books (at least as far as I've read)... |

It is a slow starter, but an amazing book if you make it through it.

Oh, and I just finished Heir To The Empire by Timothy Zahn. Great Star Wars book, like reading a movie - gotta snag the 2nd in the trilogy soon.

I liked that trilogy. If they were to make a sequel trilogy to the original Star Wars movies, they should make it from those books. Zahn is an excellent author.

It's the first book I've read by Zahn, but I really like it. His prose is clean and the pace is great.
It'd make an outstanding CG movie, in the right hands.

As long as Lucas didn't write the script or direct, it would be fine. :)
You should read some other Zahn books.

Aye, leave Lucas away from it for sure .
I was checking up on some other Zahn books on Paperback Swap last night. I may snag a few after I finish the trilogy.

Shags - I have Time Bomb by Timothy Zahn if you're interested.
I decided to read Evil Star. The Gatekeepers series is good enough that I think I'll read all the books before I go back to Eye of the World.

He's fine as long as someone else does the directing and scriptwriting. He has some great ideas.

The Icarus Hunt was a good one. He also has a series called the Conqueror's Trilogy. They're pretty good, too.

IIRC, Icarus Hunt was a standalone, so it might be a quick one to read.

I ran by the local used paperback store today, to snag the Dark Force Rising; unfortunately, they didn't have a single Star Wars book . However, they did have a single Timothy Zahn book: Conqueror's Pride, which suited me just fine. Gonna read it while I wait for the 2nd and 3rd books in the trilogy from PBS .

I just finished The Last Wish, and just started Blood of Elves.
Sapkowski has a great writing style, his dialog is between charters is fast, witty and smooth, it really kept me enthralled in the story, it was one of those books I read in two days as I just couldn't put it down.

I enjoyed those books too, although the translation is a bit spotty at times.

Yeah there were a few spots where the translation was choppy. I also work with a dude from Poland, and he says there is a ton of meaning that does not translate at all into English, and a lot of the text was cut.

Now reading Off Armageddon Reef by David Weber. Pretty good so far. It's the first in a new series by Weber (there are three books out in the series so far).

Think about it, dublet. What is the only worthwhile book you have started to read in the last several months, but quit because you were too lame to absorb any of the supremacy?

Yeah. A Game of Thrones sucks... and the droves of Star Wars and game-based books you read are top-notch titles
Heir to the Empire and its sequels are exempt from that assault of smarminess.
