The Mario package is now sold Please contact me for any custom orders. Something roughly the level of detail of this Mario is $100. Anything more complex goes up accordingly.
Up for grabs is a modded/customized NES system package. I made this one awhile back, and I'm working on a whole series of these with different 8 bit NES characters. Currently working on Simon Belmont and Mega Man among others
Here are the special features of the system:
- A "window" / case mod of 8-Bit Super Mario from SMB 1 that lights up red whenever the console is turned on.
- Blue power LED.
- Lockout disabled.
- I also installed a brand new 72 pin connector some time ago. Plays games like new.
Also included:
- 2 modded NES standard controllers with the Nintendo logo, the A button, and the B button backlit red whenever the system is powered on.
- AV cable
- AC adapter
Here are some photos:
After calculating up my costs and labor, I'm asking $200 shipped OBO for this package. In between planning and the actual work I easily put in at least 10-15 hours just for the Mario case work. So I feel this is a fair rate.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Several people have asked, and YES I am doing custom orders . For a design that's roughly the complexity of this Mario it's $100. For anything more complex it will go up from there.
Thanks for looking!

Thanks! If you have an NES already I can add a character design similar to Mario for $100. Then it's only half the amount

Does that include the new 72 pin, blue LED, and the red LEDs in the controllers?

Ah, perhaps I should rephrase that! $100 for a backlit design. Just that. Nothing else
I can do the other mods though. Please see my bio page if you're interested.

That is some seriously bad ass stuff right there. Makes that lame light blue one that was being offered a while back look like a joke.
You do great work, I hope you are able to sell this. |

So like you could do a mushroom that says 1up?
You should totally make a website dedicated to this and only this. You would make a mint. |

ZForce915 - Thanks man. I always like when people describe something I've done as bad ass
ryanflucas - Sure. Pretty much anything. I could do the mushroom, any item, any character, any anything from an NES game. Or, it could be something even more custom, like your avatar pic of Bond, etc

I think people are ignoring the amount of hours you put into this and comparing it to the fact that the NES itself is so old. If you can do that cutout work on a NES, you should be able to do it to just about anything I'd expect. Even PC case Mod's. |
MightySlacker

| | #24 posted July 2, 2009 at 5:24pm (EST) |
Any chance of different colored shells, or are they paintable? A gold NES with a link/triforce cut-out would be pimp crap

Morph can finally R.I.P.

is it just a hole?
if so maybe put a 1/8" square of plexi in there to keep the dust out and spread the light around better if you have not done so already. |

kinda figured it had one in there becuase of the glow effect but it was just a suggestion and why I said if he has not done so already but thanks for correcting me anyhow |

Sparta_Omni - I will in the near future. I'll have pics up just as soon as it's finished.
ryanflucas - Yep, I should be able to make a design in just about any case. I have yet to work with PC case mods, but I'm sure I'll get into it before too long
MightySlacker - At the moment I don't paint consoles, but I hope to eventually. The problem with the NES is that nice and tiny logo on the cart slot door. A lot of painters paint over it...which I don't like. Then other's have a crappy recreation of the logo...which I don't like. So... I still haven't figured out how to get around that one.
northerngames - Thanks for double checking. Yes there is material protecting the NES's insides/ it's not just a hole. It's hard to see in the photos because it's super clean

Much cooler than my 360 airbrushed red and black with a red LED Halo 3 logo window I traded somebody for.
If you're interested in a cash/trade, I have some stuff that would be easy to flip right now, like 2 sealed copies of Fight Night Round 4 on PS3, sealed Donkey Kong Barrel Blast for Wii. |

Animism - Thanks. I plan on doing case mods for other systems, but it might be a little while. It's basically whatever I can affordably get my hands on and practice with that determines which systems I'm working with. I'll see what I can do about PS3s and let you know...
