The Mario package is now sold Please contact me for any custom orders. Something roughly the level of detail of this Mario is $100. Anything more complex goes up accordingly.
Up for grabs is a modded/customized NES system package. I made this one awhile back, and I'm working on a whole series of these with different 8 bit NES characters. Currently working on Simon Belmont and Mega Man among others
Here are the special features of the system:
- A "window" / case mod of 8-Bit Super Mario from SMB 1 that lights up red whenever the console is turned on.
- Blue power LED.
- Lockout disabled.
- I also installed a brand new 72 pin connector some time ago. Plays games like new.
Also included:
- 2 modded NES standard controllers with the Nintendo logo, the A button, and the B button backlit red whenever the system is powered on.
- AV cable
- AC adapter
Here are some photos:
After calculating up my costs and labor, I'm asking $200 shipped OBO for this package. In between planning and the actual work I easily put in at least 10-15 hours just for the Mario case work. So I feel this is a fair rate.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Several people have asked, and YES I am doing custom orders . For a design that's roughly the complexity of this Mario it's $100. For anything more complex it will go up from there.
Thanks for looking!

Could you mod a 360 case with led lights? |

yeah the curve would definitely make it a challenge....probably why theres not modded ps3s sitting around anywhere. But it would certainly be badass...and I would certainly pay for something done. Would be cool having a ps3 with the old PS logo (from the psone days) put on there with lights and whatnot.
Either way. Keep up the good work :) |

Mitsuru - I'm just now getting into 360 case mods. I should be able to offer services within a few weeks
Animism - The curve would definitely make it much harder, but not impossible. I need to get some broken PS3s or guinea pig ones to do some R&D with. Hopefully in the near future I'll be able to offer case mods for them as well.
Outinthedark - My work? Nope. I wish. It would be much easier/faster, but probably way more expensive due to the cost of the gear. All my designs are hand cut.

It would probably take less than 5 minutes to cut on my machine after I got the CAD drawings done. I lasers!
That must be a pain by hand. You should find someone with a laser cutter/etcher locally. You can do some pretty nifty stuff! I etched my phone a year or two ago and everyone on the Helio forums flipped out and wanted me to etch who knows what in their phone/electronics.

You own one?

Maybe if I knew someone personally. It's been awhile since I've looked, but a few years back when I did it just wasn't cost effective to go to a shop. Any shop wants a set up fee, plus the charge for the actual work and it just makes it way too expensive

The contract for the machine is much like a lease. I build scale models to go along with my 3D pre viz architectural work. I use it more now for presentation packages though.
If you set up your own CAD files they still charged an arm and a leg? It takes a whole 3 minutes to convert any jpg in Autodesk/AutoCAD even faster if it is just the linework. I guess you gotta pay for the system some how. I know I had a few people sent me their phones and I just charged em like $15 for the etching + shipping. I honestly was just messing around to see if it would work :D
