Yes, I have returned from the dead. It's time for the... GameTZ Secret Santa

Once again, we will be using a subtime "bond" to encourage people to follow through on sending. If someone gets stiffed on a gift, at least they will get something. Any subscriber without a BTR is eligible to sign up. If you don't have at least a Bronze Star , you will have to put up double the bond. Everyone will signup in one of three pools: United States, Canada, and Anywhere. Signups for the US and Canada pools are limited to users in that country, respectively. Everyone else must signup in the Anywhere pool. Residents of the US and Canada may signup in the Anywhere pool if international shipping is not a problem. Everyone will be assigned a partner from their own pool.

Everyone must put up 8 weeks subtime. (16 weeks if less than Bronze Star ) If you don't have that much, someone else can put it up for you, but the bond will be returned to you. It is up to you to repay your benefactor. You will get one week (two weeks if less than Bronze Star ) back when you provide a valid tracking number that proves you've sent, and you will get the rest back when your partner receives. Signups are open now and will continue until November 29. Partners will then be assigned and mailed out. There will be weekly reminder e-mails sent to those whose partners have not received. Items must be received by December 25. At that time, anyone who hasn't received will receive one-quarter of his/her Santa's subtime bond. If a gift still isn't received after one week (January 1) another quarter will be awarded. If yet another week passes (January 8) the remaining half will be sent. Sending and receiving will be tracked through the signup site. It is very important that you update the site as soon as you send and receive so the subtime bond can be handled appropriately.

The target gift value is $10-20 US. Gifts MUST be worth at least $10 US not including shipping. Every effort should be made to send a complete item. If you are sending something used, it should be complete and in at least "very good" condition. This is not a way to unload your unwanted crap.

Tips:
 * check * Look at your partner's wants and check his/her lists and posts. Put the same effort into selecting a gift for your partner that you would want someone else to put into yours.
 * check * If your partner has inadequate "wants", don't just give up and stiff him/her. Just get a gift card to Walmart or something like that.
 * check * Make sure you provide adequate "wants" for your Santa. There should be at least 4-5 things on your list that fit in the target range.
 * check * When you get assigned a partner, go out right away, get something and send it. Immediately. Especially, if you have to send international.
 * check * If, before signing up, you already have something picked out to send to your partner, don't bother signing up. You just don't get it.

WARNING
People suck. Despite our best efforts, I guarantee there will be people who will get stiffed. If you don't intend to follow through on your commitment here, please do not sign up.

I'm sure the moderators will keep a close eye on this thread. Please keep discussion here about the SS, so things get don't out of hand like in the past.

Signup at http://gtzss.cygnustm.com and send your subtime bond to me. Just posting here will not get you in. Please use your GameTZ username when you signup. This makes it easier for your Santa to find your list. None of the accounts from the previous SS's are there. Everyone will have to re-register.

When you get your gift, post here and log in to http://gtzss.cygnustm.com and indicate that you have received.

This graphic will track who has received:

Hi there- must it be a game that we send? Living in New Zealand means I'm a bit more limited 'cos I have PAL games around!

There ARE, however, some interesting non-gaming things I could send to my recipient.. perhaps something, New Zealandy.. * smile * Note I will try my best on the game front and stuff. Really. I'm a bit more limited but I'll see what I can do OK? Same with DVD's and stuff.

Because you are not in the US Cygnus will match you will another non US resident. So, they too very likely will be playing on the PAL format. When we are pared up you will get the other persons want list. You could go solely on that list .If you aren't concerned with being a Secret Santa you can always just email the person and ask.

Actually, aside from Windmill, no one from outside the US has signed up. So, at this point, his partner will be American.

I admit we have some nice scenery. In the cities though you have to go out a couple of hours to see it though. But I know compared to when I was in America, the bush is still a heck of a lot more accessible, particularly because I live in the South Island. About 3/4 of an hour to an hours drive is some really nice bush and a really nice place to walk around.

It gets pretty cold though sometimes! Not right now, we're coming into our summer and its awfully hot.

New Zealand is pretty young. The Maoris (well, actually the Maororis but we won't go into that) arrived like, I think around the 1700's (I dunno NZ history is SO BORING no one pays attention) and thats when it was first settled. The 1800's is when England showed up. So we haven't been around too long.

Now America is interesting. All sorts of stuff goes on over here. It is so funny when our top story is on how we did so badly in the rugby world cup, our news only goes for like 1 hour and 20 minutes of that is sports at least so in the first half an hour before news about 20 minutes of that was devoted to how we lost of the world cup >.<

LAWL we are so obsessed with Rugby back about 4 years ago they released an All Blacks Gameboy Advance SP (All Blacks is our rugby team) for the masses to eat up.

Haha, you guys don't say "the bush"? * raspberry * It means like, foresty stuff. "I'm going out to the bush" Stuff like that * raspberry * "The bush is only [insert amount of time] away" I suppose with George Bush it sorta makes that sound weird * wink *

I actually have a squeeze bush toy. Its awesome. I'm not anti-Bush, I'm pretty nuetral, but everyone around here is anti-Bush.

Haha, it probably would XD Our native people, the Maoris, are dark skin-coloured but no black, they're sort of just tanned. But yeah its called All-Blacks because of the jerseys- they're all Black! (Besides the white silver fern logo, of course * raspberry * )

I also just today learnt you guys don't say "that costs a packet"

Haha, yeah, everyone does that to not just on this site * smile * I've included an avatar note, so we'll see. I'm of course quite used to it, however I do realise my mannerisms can often be rather feminine (and actually very young mannerisms) so it would be weird for someone to say I'm a guy.
