Yes, I have returned from the dead. It's time for the... GameTZ Secret Santa
Once again, we will be using a subtime "bond" to encourage people to follow through on sending. If someone gets stiffed on a gift, at least they will get something. Any subscriber without a BTR is eligible to sign up. If you don't have at least a Bronze Star , you will have to put up double the bond. Everyone will signup in one of three pools: United States, Canada, and Anywhere. Signups for the US and Canada pools are limited to users in that country, respectively. Everyone else must signup in the Anywhere pool. Residents of the US and Canada may signup in the Anywhere pool if international shipping is not a problem. Everyone will be assigned a partner from their own pool.
Everyone must put up 8 weeks subtime. (16 weeks if less than Bronze Star ) If you don't have that much, someone else can put it up for you, but the bond will be returned to you. It is up to you to repay your benefactor. You will get one week (two weeks if less than Bronze Star ) back when you provide a valid tracking number that proves you've sent, and you will get the rest back when your partner receives. Signups are open now and will continue until November 29. Partners will then be assigned and mailed out. There will be weekly reminder e-mails sent to those whose partners have not received. Items must be received by December 25. At that time, anyone who hasn't received will receive one-quarter of his/her Santa's subtime bond. If a gift still isn't received after one week (January 1) another quarter will be awarded. If yet another week passes (January 8) the remaining half will be sent. Sending and receiving will be tracked through the signup site. It is very important that you update the site as soon as you send and receive so the subtime bond can be handled appropriately.
The target gift value is $10-20 US. Gifts MUST be worth at least $10 US not including shipping. Every effort should be made to send a complete item. If you are sending something used, it should be complete and in at least "very good" condition. This is not a way to unload your unwanted crap.
Tips:
Look at your partner's wants and check his/her lists and posts. Put the same effort into selecting a gift for your partner that you would want someone else to put into yours.
If your partner has inadequate "wants", don't just give up and stiff him/her. Just get a gift card to Walmart or something like that.
Make sure you provide adequate "wants" for your Santa. There should be at least 4-5 things on your list that fit in the target range.
When you get assigned a partner, go out right away, get something and send it. Immediately. Especially, if you have to send international.
If, before signing up, you already have something picked out to send to your partner, don't bother signing up. You just don't get it.
WARNING
People suck. Despite our best efforts, I guarantee there will be people who will get stiffed. If you don't intend to follow through on your commitment here, please do not sign up.
I'm sure the moderators will keep a close eye on this thread. Please keep discussion here about the SS, so things get don't out of hand like in the past.
Signup at http://gtzss.cygnustm.com and send your subtime bond to me. Just posting here will not get you in. Please use your GameTZ username when you signup. This makes it easier for your Santa to find your list. None of the accounts from the previous SS's are there. Everyone will have to re-register.
When you get your gift, post here and log in to http://gtzss.cygnustm.com and indicate that you have received.
This graphic will track who has received:

I have yet to see any meat pies, but they may be here. I think a Tim-Tam would be more of a cookie to us. There is a place called "About Australia" that I ordered them from and it shipped from Texas and they were some of the best sweets I've had. But I have yet to perform a tim-tam slam lol. They're not very expensive either which I thought was cool

Wow no meat pies. That are positively delicious but an average pie has a golf ball of fat, which is why recently they've been banned for sales in schools next year except once a month, which I find no cool at all even though I don't eat 'em. Some people used to buy 4 a day from the canteen.

We have meat pies...they are called pot pies and they are delicious. You microwave them for 4 minutes and they are 49 cents at Wal-mart. Second only to ramen noodles.

I don't think banning food is the way to go about things in cases like that. People need to learn how to eat.
But on-topic we get our match-ups in 2 days! I'm excited

Pot pies? Yeah that does sound quite good. What about large meat pies, like big apple plies with flaky pastry?

Suit yourself. If you couldn't take 3 minutes to read the guidelines, it sure sounds like you would've put the time and effort into selecting a good gift for your partner... |

I would prefer to get my assignment some time this afternoon, if possible. It's my day off and I've got some errands to run and with a nice paycheck this week, I can get a gift for my partner and get it sent out the same day
