Nastia Luken from the US tied that Chinese girl (who cant be 15, I mean c'mon, she looks 12), yet they gave the Chinese girl the gold. Whoever says this is fair is downright stupid, China has bribed these judges and even all the commentators have said that Nastia did better and doesnt deserve to be shafted when she tied.
I mean anyone understand what happened? Its stupid

I think its a problem with health problems and or other humanitarin issues(forceably being taught). Not that 13 year olds are always way better or something.

you lose flexibility as you get older. a pre-pubescent 13 year old will be more flexible than a 16 year old, all else equal. |

Exactly. I could all sorts of tumbling crap at 13 that I can't do now at 23. The usual response to that would be either laziness or not working out, but the reality is the average human body's bones finally fuse together around 24. |

But China has more gold... I would say China is probably the better of the countries, have they been awarded the most medals.. no... but they have won the most.
If that makes no sense, well really you don't win silver or bronze, they are awarded, the only medal you win is gold, and China has more. Bolt has been my most outstanding story of the games so far... freaking amazing. But I can't wait for the 2010 Vancouver winter games.... the winter games I will actually make an effort to watch. |

*shrug* It's not my fault China has 2 or 3 sports they're good at. We basically kick more ass in more sports.

Not really. What Avro was saying is that typically America is good at most sports but they only dominate in very few of them. China has dominated in more events than America. Both are doing outstanding anyways so it doesn't really matter. |

So China is still leading in golds...
And even though the diving is judged, you cannot doubt that they are killing the other countries in it besides that one Aussie who was the only diver to beat the Chinese |

China has a gold medal is 17 different sports, U.S. has a gold medal in 15. That's not exactly domination.

Just one more. Considering until the 2nd week, we had none, we did very good. 18 is our 3rd highest total ever.

It has nothing to do with jealously. It's about Americans complaining and doging at the judges because you are losing to the Chinese. |

Not really. Its good your having some success, I like a lot of Canadians don't really care all that much about the summer games. We do MUCH better at the winter games... Its much more entertaining then the summer. |

it really does not matter. They still won more events. In the end thats what I would call a winner. Nobody cares all that much when you get 2nd or 3rd... its all about the gold. Witch is an attitude that needs to change in Canada, and the way we fund out athletes. There is no reason why we can't be one of the top nations... we will never dominate, we don't have the population to pick from that the US or China has... but we could do alot better. I am tired of how the Canadian media follows things " Billy came in 43rd today" who cares? I am sure thats the last thing he wants to hear, and we treat it like a huge success. Bah. We have the talent, we just don't know what to do with it. |

I believe teams count as 1. And Avro, cool your jets there killa, obviously China did better (the first time since '92) this time around. But really, with all the controversy surrounding them and all the investigations that will go into the age discrepancies in the next couple of weeks, I wouldn't want to be in their shoes.

If some of the golds get overturned and they do goto another country, not sure I would want it.. because you still got beat. No drugs/steroids. At the end of the day they still where beat. But I doubt they will get overturned. Time will tell.

Interesting factoid:
"Per capita, China won one gold medal for every 25 million people in the country. The United States' per capita rate was one gold for every 8.5 million. The tiny island nation of Jamaica, which won a staggering six golds in Beijing, had a per capita rate of one gold for every 450,000 residents. Had China won at that rate, the country would have earned 2,889 golds."
So technically Jamaica>U.S.>China...per capita

I REALLY want to see Bolt put some pads and a helmet on and play some ball. He has kinda long strides so I'm not sure he would be that great at cutting, but if he has hands, he could run fly routes all day. |
