I like the moves Montreal made today! They got some goal scoring and some Veteran D.... yeah it sucks that they lost Big Mike to TO.... but I am not really sad he is gone. I was really not impressed with him this year! Takes bad penalties and wanted to much money for a defensive defenceman! Montreal's D still looks VERY good right now. Not to mention There head coach will do a great job building a good solid defensive system!

But I have a feeling its going to be a long year on Montreal! We still need size we just can't seem to get it! There are also a lot of what ifs...

Pens signed Guerin and Adams, atleast for one more year: http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/spo...

Pens also lost Hal Gill, which really isn't a big loss, since they had an overabundance of defensemen, and will most likely call up Alex Goligoski from the s/wb pens. Pens also signed Mike Rupp. Rob Scuderi, who definately was one of the main reasons the pens won the cup and ruslan fedetenko are both up in talks. I hope they sign Scuderi, it wouldn't kill me to see ruslan go, he was nothing great for the pens.

Neither guy is super important. Scuderi was important for that series; not much else. Everyone is do or die with him.. it's not really an issue. We are still pursuing Beauch.

Scuderi has been a solid defensemen throughout the year. I always felt Gill was the weakest one we had, especially since he's so slow.

Yah good point... But who knows maybe they click right away... maybe the don't time will tell! I don't think Chemistry will be there issue though. They have a lot of players that need to rebound from last year and I think some will. Gomez can I always liked him I think he will be ok they Rangers have just been a black hole over recent years.... If Some players can bounce back then we will make the playoffs.. if not then at least we will get a good draft pick lol

Cammalleri is a great pickup for Montreal imo. Much better than Gomez who has been overrated since playing in NJ.

Komi to TO is so-so. We need a Defensive D-man badly. He may of had a bad year, but so did 10 or so others on Montreal. Bad years happen.

I like he didn't run to an American team to hide from the media, he chose another major NHL city to play in. Got to respect that.

Hall Gill is a bad signing. He may be big but he is slow, and Montreal is all about being a fast team. I don't see him making a big impact.

Orr to TO is a ok move too. We need that big tough guy to counter LaRorque(bad sp).

Montreal picked up another D-man too from Buffalo. If he has speed and decent talent, he should fit ok.

I would like to thank Atlanta for taking Kubina. He was one of the last pieces of trash from the Fergeson era to be dumped.

Ek has Beauchemin to the Pens as a double e2, so it's definitely looking possible.

Honestly though, I think I'd rather have Scuderi. I love him. So underrated. And I can't see Beauch being cheaper than Scuds...

Burke should have held onto Kubina until the trade deadline. Kubina was really comin on and playing some of his best hockey late in the season... he might've been an in-demand trade commodity. I do like the Exelby pickup though... young, tough, bone crusher.

Too bad the Leafs look poised to be even worse next year than they were this past year.

With Hossa, yes it evens out to like $5.2 million a year, but for the first I believe 8 years he will be getting paid like $7.5 mill a year, then from ages 38 to 42, much less

At times,I hate to practice, but I love to play.I know I need to study and I know I need to practice and I know how important it is.That doesn't mean I have to like it. The question I have to ask myself is am I willing to do that? And the answer is yes

I'm baffled by Chicago signing Hossa with that contract. To me, it means they're going to try trading Campbell at some point in the next year.

They need to free up some $$$ b/c next season Jonathan Toews, Partick Kane, Andrew Ladd and Duncan Keith will all need re-signing. Kane and Toews will get 5-7 mil each.

TOEWS dogES - CENTER FOR THE PITTSBURGH PENGUINS.

Gonchar - if he doesn't take a cheap deal - goes and we have the cap for our superstar power. Then we move Letang into Gonchar's spot, Goligoski into Letang's and we bring up Alex Grant -- the next OD phenom.

If anyone goes, it won't be the ginger. They love their Kane. I swear, they hate Toews even though he's the sickest PP guy ever.

I'd be amazed if Campbell gets moved; who is going to take a 7.1 million a season defenseman? Bob Gainey shouldn't have enough money for that!!!!! Sather too.

That would be a miracle.

The latest I've heard on Scuderi is we have a 4-year, $8 mil offer on the table. Not sure what others are offering him, but it's probably about 2.5 mil a season, so we're not far off. Apparently his agent is trying to get a 5 year deal.

We'll see what happens.

I hope we sign him. I remember Orpik taking less money so he'd be able to stay with the pens. I also believe Mike Zigomanis (s.p.), will be back this year as well. He was leading the nhl in faceoff percentage, until he got injured for the season. As for the comment above about Toews going to the pens, it'd definately be nice to have him, but we really don't need him. I'd love to see the pens move max talbot off of the 4th line center, and put him up on the second line full time, as a winger for malkin. Talbot can be the guy to replace ryan malone as the guy who sits in front of the net and causes traffic.

Orpik's situation is pretty different from Scuds. Scuderi needs to cash in while he can.

As for Zigomanis, I doubt he'll resign with us. We have Adams and now Rupp, both 4th liners who are good at faceoffs.

With how weak/thin our forwards are, we probably have to play Talbot on the 2nd line. Feds resigning is looking less and less likely, so we could resign Sykora and it could him and Talbot on Malkin's wing.

To be fair he played on Ottawa. The team would blow in the playoffs as a team. He asked for that trade to get a fresh start, i think the organization was really starting to wear him down with all the negative press they've gotten since the Emery Saga.

Exactly, I don't blame Hossa for the Sens lack of Playoff succsess! As soom as the team came up against a phyical/grinding team they folded! Thats not Hossa's fault. He goes to the Pens and manages to put up 26 points in 20 games and had a really good finals with the Pens.

Now he had some good chemistry with Zetterbug he got injured and is production went down! He comes back and Babcock fails to put them on the same line... WTH!?! So Hossa sputters in the finals... Still had 15 points in 22 games! Had Zetturburgh been healthy he probably would have done a lot better!

Its unfair to say he chokes in the playoffs. I don't see it. He still played hard hell the man was trying (maybe to hard). Look if he just simply did not want to show up and was lazy then I may agree with you! But he was motivated, tried to hard and maybe Babcock made a rare mistake in not putting the two together as soon as possible! But he does not choke! Even with Ottawa he was almost a point per game player (the last two years he was there) in the playoffs and thats just fine! He clearly does not Blow in the playoffs.
