The winners are:
1. GoldenFrankO
2. John
3. Suikoden
4. oulzac
PM's will be sent shortly to the winners!
UPDATE Prizes have been updated. Bill has put up subtime in addition to the prizes provided by myself and Outrage. This raffle is AWESOME
Sheesh is gone. Time to celebrate. This is a raffle where literally... everybody wins (some people more than others).
The Rules:
1. Entry: To enter the raffle, all you need to do is purchase subtime and take a screen cap of the printable receipt, like this:
Once you've taken the screen cap, PM it to me (you can host it on photobucket, flickr, wherever you need to). Do not post it in the thread. When you PM it to me, I'd like the transaction ID number to remain clear so I know you aren't just copping someone else' receipt. The title of the PM should be Raffle Entry. (Note: if you absolutely can not post the screen cap via PM, let me know and I will give you an e-mail to forward the e-mail receipt from paypal to. The receipt they send you is the same thing as the printable receipt).
You will get more entries based on how much subtime you purchase.
$5 (2 months) = 1 entry
$12 (6 months) = 2 entries
$20 (1 year) = 3 entries
$55 (3 years) = 5 entries
Subtime ABSOLUTELY MUST BE PURCHASED FROM BILL. Buying subtime from another user will not count. You can purchase subtime through this page here: http://gametz.com/Subscribe.html . Please do not post how much subtime you purchased in the thread here, only in the PM with your screen cap of the receipt.
EDIT: Note that you can only enter ONCE. No buying $5 worth of subtime 5 times to get 5 entries. If you want a better chance of winning, please buy a larger amount of subtime for your entry.
2. The Prizes: The prizes for the raffle are as follows:
1st place: $25 Forgotten Freshness gift certificate good towards anything in my inventory list on www.forgottenfreshness.com, a disc buffing card that will cover 5 disc repairs including return shipping at my expense, a Harvest Moon plushie cow, 1-year of Subtime, and the comfort that Sheesh is gone from our lives.
2nd place: A Harvest Moon plushie cow, 6-months of subtime, and the comfort that Sheesh is gone from our lives.
3rd place: 2 months of subtime and a mystery prize from Outrage! Could this be something awesome? Will it be mega lame? Who cares. Sheesh is gone.
4th place (new!): A copy of Lemmings for PSP (Sealed)
5th - ??? place: The satisfaction of knowing you walk away from this not only with the subtime you purchased, but that your contribution to the site will help bill keep this a great place to trade. Oh, and did I mention Sheesh is gone?
3. Duration: This raffle will run from Tuesday, June 16th until Saturday, June 27th at 6PM (this may change if the store is really really busy that day, but chances are the names will be drawn then).
The names will be placed into the random name selection program called "The Hat". I do not want offers sent to me for this. I am not interested in pending more trades/getting more trades here. Sheesh is gone. That alone makes me happy enough to do this.
I understand the prize isn't insane, but understand that I don't want the subtime myself. I don't want any money. Nothing of monetary value. I just want people to show the site a little support, and in return, you could be rewarded. This should be fun.
Get buying

I'm not missing the point. I'm fully aware of when you intend on sending. I never accused you of not sending. I'm merely saying it's a bad transaction, when you could have easily prevented it by keeping me posted BEFORE two weeks of delay. If you had said "Hey, it's gonna be a week before I can send out" weeks ago, it would have been a completely different story. If Newegg sends me a hard drive and it takes them a month to send it, trust me, I'm going to making a public review reflecting my dissatisfaction unless I'm being compensated for the delay. If you want to compensate me for the delay, then we can discuss removing it. If you feel that the BTR is invalid, then you can ask a moderator to attend to it. | Mitsuru

Why does everyone always say media mail is slow as hell...I shipped two things out the same day. 1 Media Mail and the other Priority [actually to DVDFREAK that butt-hole] both arrived on the same day.

| #298 posted July 2, 2009 at 9:43am (EST) edited July 2, 2009 at 9:44am (EST) |
So, because you happened to have a fast experience with one shipment via media mail, that means that it must be the same speed as Priority all the time? Um, yeah, that's a good logical leap.
On a side note, thanks for the raffle, Frank!

Sorry I guess I failed to mention the tens of times I've used media mail and it has always been delivered within 2-3 days time not 6-10 days. A good logical step would be my overall success when using media mail. What an underhanded comment...

I have had the same personal experience with Media Mail vs First Class vs Priority Mail. Dozens of shipments that have arrived within a few days. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the average shipping time between the three methods is not as great as people think. | Scavenger4

Agreed -- you did fail to mention that -- and I think it makes a significant difference. Otherwise, when you rip on everyone that ever says that Media Mail is slow -- with only one example where yours took only a day -- it just looks bad.
> What an underhanded comment...
Well, yes, when you basically call everyone that says that Media Mail is slow a liar or a fool, you get replies that aren't overly kind, I guess. Sorry for the confusion there.

I was welcoming him the way that I would "welcome" anyone that basically just said that anyone that thinks Media Mail is sometimes slow is wrong. Especially when their only given "evidence" (at the time) to back up that statement that we were wrong was a single instance of when it wasn't slow.

That's great. My personal experiences tend to line up more with Scavenger4 -- Media Mail taking anywhere from a day to two weeks.
I think, in general, Media Mail does travel with the rest of the mail -- and, therefore, takes the same amount of time. But, what seems to happen is that if things get busy, then Media Mail gets delegated to the "wait until whenever because it is just Media Mail" pile. So, yes, often, Media Mail takes no more time than normal mail. But, other times, it really is "slow as hell." I've had Media Mail take over 10 days on many occasions over the years. I finally stopped using it to not anger the person on the other side of trades.

Wow, having a bad day, John? The guy makes a simple comment wondering "Why does everyone always say media mail is slow as hell?" and that translates in your mind to him calling people "liars or fools"? Not exactly the most welcoming comments to a new user, but I wasn't really trying to make it into a big deal (hence the ). | John

| | #314 posted July 2, 2009 at 4:50pm (EST) |
Sure, bad day. Whatever you want to hear is fine.
And, yes, when people say that media mail is slow -- and someone basically says that it isn't because they once shipped something via media mail and it got there the next day, it does imply a bit of telling those people that they are wrong.
But, again, whatever. I think I need a break from this site again. Some things just make me angry and then I take it out, apparently, on things that are meaningless -- like this discussion.

Certainly wasn't trying to make him mad. But I get the feeling he is angry/depressed/burnt out over something. Actually, if you re-read my original response to him, I don't think it was that bad. It took a little jab, sure, but, at that time, he still seemed to be saying that Media Mail isn't slower than Priority based on one single experience. So, I called him that, stating that it was quite a logical leap (sarcastically, of course) -- but even had a at the end. I only got mad after Ramsey's response to me.
And, yes, I was in a bad mood due to a completely unrelated incident on the site -- so, likely related to a poor attitude here, sorry.

You are missing the point, because based on the time line in your BTR it took you 2 weeks to get the money to Dummy P. Believe me, if you took 2 weeks to send to me, I would for sure make you wait just as long before I sent to you. The BTR is ridiculous, and I still say you deserve the Ban Hammer for filing it. And in case this post does not make it obvious, you are now on my don't trade list.

I'm hurt. I really am. You can listen to the song I'm writing about when I'm done. And actually, no it did not take 2 weeks for me to get my money to him. You can observe. I sent on the 11th. We pended the trade on the 4th. I kept him updated on the issue I bumped into.
Mind you, I also kept him posted. In addition, I'm not filing the btr because it took 2 weeks, I'm filing the btr because after I said I'd rather have my money back than wait 3-4 weeks, he refused. I think YOU are missing the point. And as I said, if any moderator feels like the btr is unjust, then by all means they can do so. I won't argue.
