ok so my lil bro's 360 got banned from xbox live..does anyone know how to fix that? also how did he get banned he has firware 1.5 and from what i heard 1.6 only makes it easier to back up ur games could he have got banned for not being upto date on that.... any info would be cool thanx |

Actually, this may work out nicely for those of us that play offline only. Maybe I can pick up a banned 360 for cheap for some more 12 player Halo parties and such.

Can you still make online purchases with a banned 360? Or is it no online whatsoever?

With the way Microsoft is going about this, the next ban wave/dashboard update will involve removing system link as well as install to hard drive features. It's kind of shady; keep me off Live, whatever, but since when can you arbitrarily alter the functionality of the hardware I've purchased?
Anyway, extrapolating into the short-term future, sometime within the next year or two, a Xbox 360 console ban will involve MS rewriting the firmware within your system to render it useless in all functions save that of a toaster. This will coincide, of course, with the launch of Microsoft's new system.
