Anyone else excited for AEW Dynamite tonight?
I don't feel like Reigns should lose that belt anytime soon to be honest. Reigns + Heyman is the most over act in WWE at the moment, and for once in a LONG time there's a homegrown WWE star who seems like they're a legitimately formidable, unbeatable badass (finally, after all those years of forced Cena-esque heroism). Big E adds something to the Raw title picture that Smackdown already has - something worth watching. As good as Drew and Bobby were, the angles they were involved in were "overcooked" as they had been seen over and over. Big E is a brand new element in the title picture and can hopefully make for some good TV, especially as the out-of-nowhere champion having to now defend against all comers.
I really hope WWE doesn't muck this thing up because it's a legitimately good opportunity for them to stay relevant in the current wrestling landscape and, wildly enough, it all boils down to pushing wrestlers that people already legitimately enjoy.
Oh just realized that was in Boston. Always happy to see the hometown get some historic wrestling moments haha
Little champ vs champ would be fun in that case for sure.
Welp I was wrong lol. Didn't realize big E was from Boston, but still would have guessed they did some sort of swerve. Guess we will see how this run goes. WWE is running out of large "pop" factors and will have to rely on creative writing soon.
No more briefcases or legends to come back at this point.
i give credit to wwe never expected the successful booking of big e winning the title. Course now you have going to Raw Big E, so maybe new day gets reunited.
I have to admit it i still the tag team divisions in WWE are still weak and needs improvement but i give the edge to Raw as trying to be a more established. Smackdown's tag team division is weak and awful
I really hope the upcoming draft brings freshness to the product.
i agree with @theJaw i dont see reigns or usos being booked to lose the titles anytime soon quite yet.
> i give credit to wwe never expected the successful booking of big e winning the title.
> Course now you have going to Raw Big E, so maybe new day gets reunited.
I really hope not. Getting away from them was one of the best things that happened for him. I couldn't take him serious as a world champion if he was still flinging pancakes into the crowd. That shtick worked with The New Day, but he deserves to be known for more than just that.
I'd be 100% into the New Day reforming. It's okay for top stars to be part of a team that isn't just a faction focused solely on one top star. New Day specifically share such an obvious real-life bond and the chemistry translates to TV in a more natural way than anything else WWE has presented in years. I know WWE doesn't treat tag teams like they're comprised of actual individuals worth paying attention to, but they are, and thankfully it seems the company has unbelievably forgotten their bias against tag teams when it comes to The New Day.
The New Day is the literal best thing that's ever happened to any of the 3 guys in it - that's the gimmick that brought them ALL to the upper tier. They're suddenly one of if not THE most influential tag teams in WWE's history and have boosted both Kofi Kingston and Big E into the major championship picture. And yes, this version of Big E is still very much "New Day" Big E despite the music change. It'd be a very simple transition to put them all back together.
Bryan Danielson vs. Kenny Omega is happening on free TV in a week. What a time to be alive.
It won't be a title shot, but I expect Danielson to beat Omega on Dynamite in order to warrant a title shot at Full Gear. If I were to book that direction, I'd have Danielson beat Omega on Dynamite, have Omega beat Danielson at Full Gear, and have Hangman return at Full Gear to finally pay off the Omega/Page feud at whatever big event they hold after Full Gear, be it a PPV or just a special Dynamite.
But I certainly won't be complaining if they end up just putting the belt on Danielson. No other guy in the history of wrestling has deserved to be skyrocketed to the top of a promotion like Danielson, especially after his constant clawing in WWE. I just want to make sure Hangman wins that thing from whoever holds it whenever he returns and works himself back into that spot on the card.
gosh darn this is the card for next week's "Dynamite Grand Slam" at Arthur Ashe Stadium:
Non-title: Kenny Omega vs. Bryan Danielson
Cody Rhodes vs. Malakai Black
AEW Women's World Championship: Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. (c) vs. Ruby Soho
FTR vs. Sting & Darby Allin
MJF vs. Brian Pillman Jr.
CM Punk interview
Probably the best TV card booked in a real, real long time. I'm actually starting to think Page may just return at the end of this show and not make us wait as long as I originally thought.
Dynamite was insane last night. The crowd was on fire.
rumors are bray wyatt may appear somewhere soon
speculation may be AEW with association with the Dark Order However that would mean maybe turning them heels unless Wyatt(forgot real name) would consider being a face character. Any scenario would be interesting though.
I did watch Dynamite but missed part because i watching a non wrestling movie on Amazon Prime.
Dark Order have said time and time again that they don't want/need a new "leader", so I doubt Bray's involved with them at all tbh
decided to watch an old wrestling promotion so i watched mid south wrestling episode i found on youtube
episode i watched was awesome
mr wrestling 2
kamala the giant
jim duggan pre hacksaw versus marty lundy(arn anderson)
chavo guerrero sr i believe
quite entertaining especially since they mainly wrestled unlike nowadays where you have the snoring monologues in the ring or backstage skits which are half of time not amusing
New episode of Dark Side of the Ring...... fudgein big yikes. I had only ever heard the story about Lesnar and Mr Perfect getting into a fight whenever the "Plane Ride from Hell" was talked about. It's actually insane how much more shady crap happened and was just completely brushed over.
Oh yah, Dreamer stepped in it hard and just came off as an unbelievable douchebag. There were always the stories of Flair running around with just his robe on, pulling his wiener out and whatnot, but he apparently cornered and began touching one of the flight attendant's that they interviewed for the episode. Dreamer then shames her, wondering why she didn't go to the cops sooner and firmly asserting that he believes Flair would pull his crap out but never force himself on anyone. I guess not realizing, that flashing people is a forceful means of sexual abuse any way you shake a stick at it.
Scott Hall was also apparently close to death due to having drank so much and done so many drugs, but before almost dying he also pulled a flight attendant toward him and ripped the buttons off her shirt before he passed out outta nowhere.
I guess Lesnar pulled his dick out in front of Terri Runnels and Goldust back when they were still together. Unfortunately instead of defending her Goldust just told her to "no sell it" so she wouldn't have to worry about losing her job. Thankfully there's some redemption for Goldust though, as he's the one that physically went to the back of the plane to stop Flair from sexually assaulting the flight attendant more.
They also cut off Michael Hayes' ponytail while he was asleep, which is definitely crapty but also kinda rules if I'm being honest.
All the while Vince was ON THE PLANE, but kept himself locked away in his private area while having JR need to be the one to try to calm everyone down. That was blatantly impossible and JR stood no chance, and he makes a good point in the episode by saying that it shouldn't have been HIS responsibility to make sure grown men didn't act like children. Just pretty shady that Vince was there and didn't give a fudge about any of the crap going on.
JR also mentioned that Goldust was either fired or suspended for having sung over the plane's PA system on that plane ride, but then the interviewer straight up asks JR point blank "why didn't that happen to Ric Flair?" JR was at a loss for words, said he had no answer and that Flair being a "made man" got him a "pass" in the long run.
Pretty fudgeed up situation and disappointing to hear all around (except for my dude Goldust).
> Fans are trying to convince AEW to never hire Ric Flair too
I wouldn't be surprised to never see Flair in any prominent way on TV ever again. I guess it's lucky for him and his fans that he got one final send-off in an NWA ring a few weeks ago because now he's likely going to be riding off into the sunset.
We also need to keep in mind that it's VERY likely every single wrestler or wrestling personality who was around at that time (and probably most who weren't) were likely already aware of this bullcrap and just had to sit on it all these years. So this stuff is only really a revelation to us viewers, which is an unsettling thought.
I didn't even mention how RVD states that drugging people's drinks was fairly common even at the time of this plane ride, and that it happened to at least two people ON the plane (Hayes being one of them).
Can't even kinda sleep so it's almost 4AM but I'm over here watching the replay of the GCW Highest in the Room PPV from earlier tonight.
2nd match in, holy crap 2 Cold Scorpio is not only still wrestling but also still fudging rules. Really impressive for a dude his age.
Two really fun matches so far, apparently it's a show worth watching so I'm into it.
> Pretty fudgeed up situation and disappointing to hear all around (except for my dude
I still haven't watched the episode myself yet, but from what I've seen on Twitter, Goldust was just as big of a piece of crap as Flair and the others that night, but for some reason they neglected to mention it in that episode. He asked one of the flight attendants if her boobs were real, then grabs her ass and tells her "you and me are gonna fudge" and started rubbing his groin on her.imageimage
> Also on the Observer they confirmed Vince was not on that specific flight.
Yah I found out last night that Goldust was also apparently crapty, which wasn't covered on the episode. And the episode straight up says Vince was on the plane, so either they made a mistake or Meltzer did (which happens fairly often).

And now the "Rampage Grand Slam" card looks fudgein fantastic too. 2 hour episode!
Anna Jay vs. Penelope Ford
Lights Out Match: Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston vs. Lance Archer and Minoru Suzuki
The Lucha Brothers & Santana and Ortiz vs. Private Party & The Butcher and The Blade
CM Punk vs. Powerhouse Hobbs
Chris Jericho and Jake Hager vs. Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky with Dan Lambert
Adam Cole and The Young Bucks vs. Impact World Champion Christian Cage and Jurassic Express
Add Roman Reigns & The Usos vs. The New Day that will be happening on Raw, and it's going to be a FUN week for wrestling fans.
Ciampa as champion is perfect. The rest of that NXT episode was fudging awful.
So from reading
Creative is turning Dominic heel
Nia jax taking time off with bayzler attacking I assume Jax may be coming back as a face
I will say reigns on raw and big e on smackdown culminating in a stable match was Intriguing
I assume rhea rippley is face now as couldn't tell what side of the fence she was
I'm excited about rampage being two hours though
Can't believe wwe was quick to disown ric flair he should have been given time to explain
Reminds me of Benoit situation but that is a whole different monster that doesn't need retreading
That's my opinion for the week
Fudge Ric Flair
So McMahon wants nxt 2.0 to be more risqué
Geez I wonder why
AEW, product being flat or change of direction
I nominate all the above
And yes I have to say only thing I'll come close to wwe is the topps wrestling collector's app
So it's been in the news gran Metalik wants no part of wwe claiming not being used
I'm gonna play devils advocate for wwe
If management likes certain talent they will be on tv or shows. Yes they still have a roster but they can only do so many storylines and have time on aired shows
In the 80,s which was different era of wrestling. Not everyone was wrestling talent vs talent. It was talent vs jobbers
Metalik should be featured anywhere he wrestles. Dude is incredible in the ring.
If AEW had nuts they would just bring Flair out as a heel right now lol
The owen thing was gross and rubbed me the wrong way
Noticed way too late everyone in AEW is a white guy besides Cody's wife lol
Sting Vs. Hogan in AEW will be the ultimate exercise in modern wrestling fan hypocrisy
> If AEW had nuts they would just bring Flair out as a heel right now lol
> The owen thing was gross and rubbed me the wrong way
Owen Hart? What was gross about it? Nothing even happened on TV. They just released a press statement about working with his family to bring awareness to his charity and honor his life. Oh, and they announced a tournament in his name but I mean... that happens for wrestlers constantly.
I wouldn't say it's much more gross than forcing him to do a stunt he wasn't comfortable with, causing him to plummet to his death and then still carrying on the show regardless. Silly Vince.
> Noticed way too late everyone in AEW is a white guy besides Cody's wife lol
Huh? Hobbs, Big Swole, Jade Cargil, Red Velvet, Fuego, Shida, Starks, Ortiz, Santana, etc etc etc.
> Sting Vs. Hogan in AEW will be the ultimate exercise in modern wrestling fan hypocrisy
The majority of fans are pissy about old guys coming back to win world titles and become the primary focus of the shows, like Goldberg recently. When AEW does something like that with guys as terrible at wrestling as Goldberg, instead of having actually good veterans help put over the younger guys like they have been, you'll have a point.
Haven't heard anything about Hogan coming to AEW and I doubt they have any interest in him.
