IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE, YOU MUST HAVE A (BRONZE STAR) OR HIGHER... IF YOU WISH TO TRADE INTERNATIONALLY YOU MAY, BUT IF AN INTERNATIONAL USER DIBS YOUR STEAL, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REJECT THE DIB.
PLEASE DO NOT PEND YOUR TRADE UNTIL THE PERSON CLAIMING YOUR DEAL HAS POSTED ONE UP OF THEIR OWN AND IT TOO HAS BEEN CLAIMED! THIS THREAD IS ALL ABOUT RECIPROCATION. IF YOU GET A GREAT STEAL, YOU MUST PROVIDE A GREAT STEAL. PLEASE NOTE: I HAVE THE RIGHT TO INTERJECT IF WHAT YOU OFFER IS NOT ON THE SAME PLAYING FIELD FOR WHAT YOU DIBBED.
YOU HAVE SIX HOURS FOR SOMEONE TO DIB YOUR STEAL... PLEASE HAVE YOUR STEAL READY SHORTLY AFTER CLAIMING A STEAL. YOU MUST POST YOUR STEAL WITHIN ONE HOUR AFTER DIBBING, OTHERWISE WHATEVER YOU DIBBED WILL BECOME AVAILABLE AGAIN. IF YOUR ITEM SITS, PLEASE ALTER YOUR STEAL IN ORDER TO MOVE IT. LATE POSTS WILL HAVE UNTIL 12 PM EST TO BE CLAIMED. Exceptions made for steals posted after 3 AM EST to 7 AM EST.
Otherwise, once 6 hours pass, the original steal you previously had dibs on will be available again and you lose your opportunity to re-claim. If you offer TWO unclaimed steals, you will be unable to participate in the future. IF YOU DELETE OR RESCIND YOUR DIB, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE FOR 48 HOURS. BE SURE YOU WANT THE ITEM YOU ARE DIBBING.
If you are offering any form of mystery lot, you must PM me what you are posting first for approval... this is not a place to dump your less desirable games in "mystery lots". Your list will not be disclosed to anyone and will still remain a mystery. I am not allowed to dib on mystery lots.
This is the order you should be posting your steals, sending and accepting offers. Person A posts steal Person B dibs and sends pre-accepted offer Person B posts steal Person C dibs Person A accepts Person B's offer
Thanks all, have fun.
Concept and Process PLEASE CLICK...
I had an idea... if it doesn't work, oh well.. but, it won't hurt to try. It'll also be a good opportunity to make some trades (you should be making 2 trades... one buying, one selling if everything goes smoothly).
My idea is the first person will post a deal (Me in this case)... Item + price (Condition is a must) within reason. It must be a deal. Not a $50 game for 47 + shipping... etc. Prices must be shipped. Please try to keep the items below $100 value We don't want people posting "deal on MacBook Pro for $800" that way the cycle will not be blocked. Unless you are offering an absolute steal for an item over $100, please do not do it. What makes this fun is the randomness of items that can pop up... they can be anything.
Please review all of your resources (eBay, Craigslist, GameTZ, CAG... whatever... just make sure what you're offering is a steal)
If you have less trades, you still send first... basic site rules still apply no matter what. If you are comfortable sending same time (gold stars to and up)
Once you agree to a deal (STEAL!), you must then offer a deal (STEAL!) of your own...
MAKE IT A GOOD ONE! STEALS ONLY... IF YOU ARE BUYING STEALS AND ONLY OFFERING SPORTS GAMES OR LESSER SOUGHT AFTER TITLES, YOU WILL BE WARNED ... THIS IS NOT AN OPPORTUNITY TO OFFLOAD YOUR JUNK...USE THE FREEBIE FORUM IF THIS IS YOUR INTENTION...Please only list one item at a time... Options are OK as well (i.e Game X on PS1 or Game X on PS2
How it should be:
I post Phantasy Star 3 - Genesis (cart only, fair condition) for $10 paypal shipped
@billy wants my Phantasy Star 3 for Genesis for $10 shipped... he then posts "dibs on Phantasy Star 3"
the first person to post "dibs on X item" gets the item. Please clarify what you are getting dibs on to avoid confusion. If you are the first person to post, you must send that person an offer for the item immediately. The deal giver must verify that this person is the first one to post dibs and then @billy has to offer a steal of his own...
He offers Pokemon Gold for $15...once someone takes that deal, @Jeff can now accept the offer for Phantasy Star 3... and the cycle will continue. If he knows for sure he is the first one to get dibs, he can post his deal right after... so on and so forth.
Someone else should then say "dibs on @billy 's Pokemon Gold"
Examples of Deals Made so Far... 1.) Jeff sold Phantasy Star 2 (cart only) for $13 shipped to @Tad 2.) DiamondDave gets Tad's DOOM for $10 + ship and offers a PS3 bundle for $60 shipped! 3.) KingofGames dibs Weeds Seasons 1-5 on Bluray Disc and offers Pokemon Silver and Sapphire for $10 shipped 6.) Geewiz dibs KingofGames Pokemon Silver and Sapphire and offers a Wii U system only 32GB (fair condition) for $50 shipped 7.) This topic had many older posts which were moved here:

hold on now, im not doing any kind of expectation stuff. so dont be getting all down my ass. im saying that both of these games can be bought for brand new sealed for 10 each, his isnt sealed, and all i said is that to me, this isnt a steal. that just my opinion, like i said in the beginning.

ok, im just going to say this. dashey pretty much got like a $35 game for $8. but then lists a subpar steal in return. im not trying to make a big deal out of it. but others have said stuff about this in the past, about getting a good steal, and then offering up subpar stuff.

wow, do you want me to go look it up for you? 6 months ago, i bought halo 5 brand new for my son off of amazon for $13. now this was 6 months ago. and dustin, you are just trying to start stuff with me bc you got your ass yelled at in the switch thread.

sorry, it wasnt you in the switch thread, sorry about that, that was silly, it was another dustin. but sure, if you really want me to find you some prices, sure, but i dont think it really matters. we are causing trouble in this this thread, if its a steal, somebody will dib. the purpose of the steal thread, was to get a good deal, and then return a deal to the topic. when i did dib, and in the future, i will damn sure make certain that my deal will actually be a deal.
Isn't a steal all relative?, no matter the the price the steal is valued at to someone? (One persons junk/low value items, maybe another person's perfect steal for them.) If you don't like the steal being offered, don't dib just wait until there's something you want to dib on...pretty simple imo and cuts down on arguments getting started.
> If its not a steal then dont dib on it and move on. Maybe noone will dib and he will
> get his dib canceled. Theres a system for it.
This. And since people want to get picky:
Cheapest price you can find what Dashey dibbed on eBay currently -- $30 shipped (so he saved $22 on the steal)
Cheapest price you can find what Dashey is offering as a steal currently -- $23 shipped total (so he's offering up $18 in savings)
Is there some disparity in quality? Maybe. But the value is close. That's been an ongoing issue in this thread, just because they aren't quality items (retro games, systems, toys, brand new releases, etc.) people automatically devalue them. Let it ride, the system @Jeff put in place works.
I read through this nonsense this morning and thought, well the one guy that hardly participates is the one to criticize, of course. Either shut up and claim it if you want it, or trust the process we have in place. Stop the damn complaining.
1) jungle book diamond edition- blu ray/DVD/ digital had all sealed- just pay shipping 2) donkey Kong country 2- game and manual in custom clamshell case- $10 shipped 3) super Mario all stars and super gameboy- both cart only- $20 shipped.
Night owl, I feel like that every week you have some stupid crap to say about me and I've noticed that this is the second time you did it on this thread specifically. At first, I thought it was because it was because they were Xbox one games but when I read that it was because of the savings, I just laughed. Valuing Halo 5 because you bought it for $13 sealed months ago doesn't mean it'll be $13 right now. That's like saying I bought Afrika on PS3 for $5 at a yard sale a year ago and I expect it to be $5 online. One thing that my grandfather told me before he passed away is to act like your age, not your shoe size. I feel like that message can go towards a long way.
On my way home now- I'll post a couple options up since it doesn't look like the Supaboy has much interest. Off the top of my head, I have some Saturn games, a couple PS4 games, and a loose lot of NES commons I can put up.
Option 1- NES commons lot for $10 shipped Jack Nicklaus Golf, Home Alone 2, Rollerball (name written on cart), Roger Clemens MVP Baseball (typical crummy label), Startropics, Duck Hunt, Excitebike(not great shape), Jackal, Tennis, 10-Yard Fight (not great shape)
Option 2- Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Need for Speed Rivals, both sealed, on PS4 for $5 shipped
Option 3- Clockwork Knight and Clockwork Knight 2 for $40 shipped (Saturn). Clockwork Knight has a shard taken out of the front spine of the case, faint scratches on disc, Clockwork Knight 2 is in very good shape, a couple faint scratches and a tiny crack on bottom of case. Both games have manuals in very good shape.
Option 4- Game Boy Advance SP model AGS-101, Pearl Blue color. (Hypothetically speaking, may come with a 512 mb flash card that has Mother 3 on it)- $35 shipped
I'm out of cool stuff to put up. Just have some low end ps3/ps4 games and an xbox360 console. I need to acquire more stuff and I need to hurry and beat some of the newer ps4 games I have so I can use them.
Do you guys think this thread is something that should run all day everyday? or should we limit it to maybe a week out of the month in order to keep it fresh (and so you all don't run out of steals to offer)
I guess it just depends how many more people join in. If you get more people it's something that can run continuous but if it mostly just remains the same people being active then maybe it should be during certain days. I have found myself checking this topic way too often lately.
Most of us are out running errands, or with famy, or working ect. And only have are phones, available (but we may not be on it all day or the pc everyday.) So it's kind of hard to refresh constantly to see what the current deals are. Esp if the deal to be dibed sits for hours and hours. Just my thoughts @Jeff
If it runs 1 week out of every month, people can save up things to offer for that week. I don't want people claiming great things and just trying to move junk just because they have nothing else to offer. That's the main concern. We can let it continue, but eventually we may get to that point.
I'm not sure how many unique people view this thread, but its safe to say there is a lot of interest... however, we may have to limit the claim amounts in order to allow newer people to share their wealth. Just a thought as of now to see how we can keep the thread lively. For now, itll remain the way it is but, it may change as people "run out of steals to offer"
Forcing Jeff to start it because he's the deity of this thread seems unfair as well. I can't think of anything besides maybe if it reverts twice shut this thing down for maybe a week or two then have it resume with the first reverter. Maybe they can acquire something more tempting given the extra time?
Example So in this case if nobody claims the gold Zelda carts shut it down. Then resume in a week or so and have it begin with the person that is offering the gold Zelda carts but preferably have something else available for steal.
> Lol. Worst case, it can revert back and you can claim it.
No that's cool I was right there about to nab it but passed...not really into pokemon and fire emblem is ok I already have FE shadow dragon so its all good, figured I pass the steal on to someone else.
If it double reverts (it shouldn't because ideally whoever is up should be adding items to be able to pick up their steal) then anyone should be able to post their steal, but only the first steal offered after the time expires.
If you're not modifying your steal significantly to move your items, that's where the problem lies unless you don't care about not getting the items you dibbed...
> I think you could combine all the options of the current "steal" together for free
> + shipping and it would hardly qualify as a steal... most of those are $1-$3 games
To each their own, I don't own any new Gen stuff. I was sitting in traffic on my way to work so I added a few more things but I won't be available for a few hours now. If nothing goes it's cool, it'll go back to dash.
> To be fair, it's hard to see past that DualShock 2 Controller before judging
Again to each their own , I think most people are looking for newer Gen stuff which I simply just don't own, but there were enough options there and most of it was free. Personally, I would've gone for the sandwich , I make a mean turkey and cheese lol
@lunar the vita wasn't directed at you. You're correct, I have a slew of games available but really only dibbed to keep things moving. I'm not sure when free stuff went out of style but again, you can't please everyone ;)
> Was that DS Lite crap? Thought that was prettt solid. Maybe I'm wrong.
I think @Lunars expectations of steals are reaching waaaayyy to far and wide now. If it's not for him he thinks it's junk or not a fair steal. Especially, if he's looking to RESELL or RETRADE the items in question.
Once you call dibs, you must quickly offer up your own steal
If nobody calls dibs on your steal, you do not get what you called dibs on and the item you called dibs on is up for grabs again
If a previous offer had items that did not get dibbed, feel free to make them an offer through the offer system or PM for values that are not slashed in half, because they are not under any obligation to sell to you for cheap or free if it's not something currently up for offer.
