Concept: The idea is a Pay-It-Forward concept... getting great deals to offer up great deals. This isn't an opportunity to offload your unwanted junk...If you attempt to do so, you will be unable to participate in the future. Don't feel anxiety to compete... post up what you have! The community may want your steals!!! Have fun with this. Please see the "Original Concept and Process" at the bottom of this post for further detail. Thank you
The Review Team will determine if a steal needs to be revised, or if further action is needed. Any questions about a steal, you can message me or one of these great users below! The Review Team has the right to interject at anytime if needed to help regulate. We do not pre-review steals, veto or judge them...the thread should flow normally and we will only step in when necessary. These members are still able to participate in the thread. If you would like to assist, send me a PM!
One person will post a steal up for the community, the first person interested will dib that steal by typing "dibs". They will then post up a great steal of their own, and once that steal too is dibbed, they can pend a trade for the initial steal they claimed. Original rules apply! First to get it wins!
1.) BRONZE STAR OR HIGHER ONLY. IF YOU ARE AN INTERNATIONAL DIBBER, AS A COURTESY, YOU SHOULD OFFER TO SPLIT OR COVER THE COSTS IF THE PRICE OF SHIPPING IS UNREASONABLE FOR YOUR SHIPPER TO COVER ON THEIR OWN.
2.) YOU HAVE 3 HOURS FOR SOMEONE TO DIB YOUR STEAL... PLEASE HAVE YOUR STEAL READY SHORTLY AFTER CLAIMING (dibbing) A STEAL
3.) PLEASE USE THE SCORING SYSTEM TO VOTE IF YOU THINK THE ITEMS OFFERED ARE AN AMAZING DEAL!... MESSAGE THE REVIEW TEAM IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS, DO NOT POST THEM HERE... PLEASE DO NOT PEND YOUR TRADE UNTIL THE PERSON CLAIMING YOUR DEAL HAS POSTED ONE UP OF THEIR OWN AND IT TOO HAS BEEN CLAIMED!
4.) LATE STEAL POSTS WILL HAVE UNTIL 12 PM EST TO BE DIBBED ON. Exceptions made for steals posted after 3 AM EST to 7 AM EST.
5.) THERE IS A $15 MINIMUM, A $100 MAXIMUM UNLESS APPROVED OTHERWISE FOR ALL NON-GIFT CARD ITEMS... YOU CAN POST VIDEO GAMES, SYSTEMS, BLU-RAYS, ETC... DIGITAL ITEMS ARE ACCEPTABLE. FREE ITEMS, ITEMS FOR SHIPPING ARE NOT PERMITTED. THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO MYSTERY BOXES, LOTS, ANYTHING MYSTERY IS NOT PERMITTED. IF YOU DELETE OR RESCIND YOUR DIB, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE FOR 48 HOURS. BE SURE YOU WANT THE ITEM YOU ARE DIBBING. IF YOU POST A STEAL UP AND IT RECEIVES NO DIBS, YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO CLAIM THE ITEM YOU DIBBED, AND IT WILL REVERT BACK TO THE PREVIOUS STEAL OFFERED.
6.) IF YOU COPY AND PASTE THE SAME STEALS OVER AND OVER, YOU WILL BE WARNED. MIX IT UP.. MAKE THIS STEALS THREAD EXCITING!
7.) DO NOT POST UP PRE-ORDERS AS STEALS WITHOUT MESSAGING ONE OF THE REVIEW TEAM MEMBERS FIRST... YOU MUST GET THE "OK" IN ORDER TO DO SO.
This is the order you should be posting your steals, sending and accepting offers. Person A posts steal Person B dibs and sends pre-accepted offer Person B posts steal Person C dibs Person A accepts Person B's offer Thanks whitefire!
Original Concept and Process -- PLEASE CLICK...
I had an idea... if it doesn't work, oh well.. but, it won't hurt to try. It'll also be a good opportunity to make some trades (you should be making 2 trades... one buying, one selling if everything goes smoothly).
My idea is the first person will post a deal (Me in this case)... Item + price (Condition is a must) within reason. It must be a deal. Not a $50 game for 47 + shipping... etc. Prices must be shipped. Please try to keep the items below $100 value..We don't want people posting "deal on MacBook Pro for $800" that way the cycle will not be blocked. Unless you are offering an absolute steal for an item over $100, please do not do it. What makes this fun is the randomness of items that can pop up... they can be anything.
Please review all of your resources (eBay, Craigslist, GameTZ, CAG... whatever... just make sure what you're offering is a steal)
If you have less trades, you still send first... basic site rules still apply no matter what. If you are comfortable sending same time (gold stars to and up)
Once you agree to a deal (STEAL!), you must then offer a deal (STEAL!) of your own...
How it should be:
I post Phantasy Star 3 - Genesis (cart only, fair condition) for $10 paypal shipped
@billy wants my Phantasy Star 3 for Genesis for $10 shipped... he then posts "dibs on Phantasy Star 3"
the first person to post "dibs on X item" gets the item. Please clarify what you are getting dibs on to avoid confusion. If you are the first person to post, you must send that person an offer for the item immediately. The deal giver must verify that this person is the first one to post dibs and then @billy has to offer a steal of his own...
He offers Pokemon Gold for $15...once someone takes that deal, @Jeff can now accept the offer for Phantasy Star 3... and the cycle will continue. If he knows for sure he is the first one to get dibs, he can post his deal right after... so on and so forth.
Someone else should then say "dibs on @billy 's Pokemon Gold"

> Pokemon Blue Mystery - 15
> Pokemon Explorers - 25
> Phoenix 1 - $20 (complete)

If this is right that is 160 for 15 even if we deduct five for each game that's still what 120 plus whatever it costs him to ship for 15? Idk I'd want to hear what @Whitefire thinks since he said "Damn good steal" as a stipulation. Because I'm not sure it's terrible but idk what these are worth.
You don't necessarily need to be spot on to the offer you dibbed, but near it. I gave you a ranged-estimate of some of those items and mentioned you could see what happens. Someone may want them, who knows. There doesn't have to be a pattern or group for your items... as long as it's a good deal (in someone's eyes) then that's a steal to them.

I definitely wasn't meaning to misrepresent what you wrote, at all. When I wrote "on the generous side" I meant that you estimated on the high end of value if anything. If it came off that way let me know and I'll edit. I really do appreciate your advice. Thanks again.
Anyway, Lunar has given me in PMs a better sense of the level of deal that must be given here. Essentially, I should be offering at least $150 of value to match whitefire's generosity, then the next person should offer a similarly good value, and so on down the line. I'm kind of a minimalist so I don't think I physically have on hand sufficient stuff of that value that's not personally important to me, to put up for a steal, so I will bow out. Thanks anyways whitefire for your generosity, and to Jeff and Lunar for their advice.
Tonymack will be happy to take whitefire's steal I think!
> @tonymack21 if maxcriden doesn't want the steal, are you interested in it?
Honestly, Max, I appreciate your effort. You're not trying to pull a fast one of be dishonest. I can see that. I always think of a steal as value - price x level of want. I don't think it hits the mark, for me at least. It's a nice lot though.

Totally understood - thanks for your candor and I'll see if anything happens to come to mind and will keep an eye on the thread. I just tend to have a lot of offbeat stuff and then a lot of digital stuff so it's hard for me to figure out what I can offer of value. But anyway, thanks for your kindness and I look forward to doing more trades with you (and all you GTZ'ers in here!) in the future.
> It is and max is a nice guy we've traded before

Aw, thanks Tony. Enjoy the steal :)

You weren't brash at all man, truly - but thanks and I definitely will!
