$15 off a $100 auction the nicest one imo. Has anyone used these more than once? If you can only use them once, i guess you could use them on more than one account(i have one selling account, and a couple of buying accounts).

Thats against paypal's rules. Each persona can only have 2 accounts, one personal and one business. How did you get more than 2?

I don't know about him, but I have 3. My personal, my corporate, and one in my wife's name. I use hers to buy my tranny midget porn so it can't be traced back to me.

Seriously though, you can have as many accounts as you want if you have multiple credit cards and multiple corporations. A corporation is a legal entity of its own just like a person, so if you have 100 separate corporations with 100 separate VISA accounts, then you can have 100 Ebay accounts.

Rictor: That's wrong. Legally in ebay's fine print, you're only allowed 1 ebay account per household.
I think Paypal is trying to get people to all have one account per person as well. When I registered a 2nd account a few months back, it said any accounts found to be made by the same person would be combined together. I was never found out, since I had a seperate bank account and debit card. But I only used it for a few months, then I closed it out.

Go back and read the fine print. It has changed recently.

Please don't make such statements without backing them up if you are going to tell someone else they are wrong about legal issues. Please direct me to any mention of the word "household" in ANY of EBay's agreements. I've looked -- there is nothing there.

In fact, at EBay, I can't even find wording about multiple accounts for the same person! That being said, I know it isn't restricted per household since many, many families have adults that each have their own EBay account. Heck, EBay's commercials even encourage it.

So, if you are going to correct someone about what the "fine print" says, you really should make sure it actually says that in said fine print. If it does, I apologize -- but please direct me to it.

> Go back and read the fine print. It has changed recently.

I did some more checking -- multiple accounts appear to be fine on EBay. Even in their own documentation they mention it.

The only "rule" is that if one account is suspended, you may not create any new accounts or use any other accounts that you have.

Specifically, EBay uses this example about "Previously Suspended Users":
Jane had two eBay accounts. While using one of her accounts, Jane violated eBay policies. As a result, that account was suspended. Jane then switched all her activity on eBay to her second account. Using that second account during her suspension violates this policy.

As you can see, Jane had two accounts to begin with and that was fine -- it was only after one was suspended that EBay cared about the second one being used.

Rictor was right -- although, his "multiple corporations" concept isn't even needed. It looks like, as long as you provide valid information, you can have multiple EBay accounts without violating any of the User Agreement.

most service reps just bullcrap out their ass. They say whatever they think is right even if it is in fact wrong. I ran into this with paypal numerous times. Interesting enough it was always the women who kind of told me what I wanted to hear if I asked a question. Im not sexist but I always ask for a guy when I get to their customer service now...

My wife and I are two separate legal entities. We share no bank accounts or credit cards. The house and cars are in my name only. The 3 houses she owns (rental properties) are in her name only. My corporation is also a separate legal entity. Even if Ebay were to say this wasn't allowed, there would be no legal way for them to enforce it.

But as far as one account per household, I doubt that Ebay has a policy against each individual person living in a home (granmda, dad, mom, legal age kids, etc.) having their own private Ebay and Paypal accounts.

I've been an Ebay member since 1997. My only regret is not taking part in the stock IPO they offered to current members before they went public. Could have made about $100 profit per share at one point.

You have anything to back this up? I can't find anything indicating that EBay did anything special for members during the IPO. It appears to have been a normal IPO with no presales or guaranteed certificates available to members at the time. Do you have a link to an article discussing this?

So how does this work exactly?

I just did a buy-it-now using the first code from above.

It sent me a reciept that says:

Total Before Discount: $46.00 USD
Discount Amount: -$3.60 USD
Total After Discount: $42.40 USD

But it still took the full 46.00 out of my account.

Did they just ignore the discount? Should I be emailing them asking why it didn't work? I'm confused.

US Shipping & Handling via USPS Parcel Post
(includes any seller handling fees) : $21.19 USD
US Insurance (optional): --
Price Before Discounts: $136.19 USD
Coupon C3-HOLIDAY2005: - $15.00 USD

Total: $121.19 USD

Looks like it works and it didn't pull the full amount out of my bank account, it only pulled out $121.19 and added $15.00 so the seller received the full amount.

Did you have a credit on your paypal account from "eBay inc." giving you a credit for the coupon amount? I purchased something using the 10% off code and thats how my account was credited.

On the multiple accounts note I remember it stating you could have multiple accounts as long as there were no interactions between the two accounts such as bidding on the other accounts items or other things of that nature. It said that sometimes its easier for people to keep up with their listings and manage accounts with a second account and it was fine as long as you weren't making transactions from one account to the other. If you were referring to 2 or more paypal accounts I know nothing about that though.
