Knowing reminded me of
that terrible movie The Forgotten mixed with When the Earth Stood Still
I at least liked how in Knowing they went over-the-top with the big events. The plane crash was sweet.
Fighting (6/10) -- Pretty good, actually. Channing Tatum or whoever he is (Duke from G.I. Joe) was actually a pretty good leading man. The fights and events were very realistic, which I think left the biggest impression on me. In a movie mostly about street fighting, the realism was important and made it stand out. The climax fits perfectly with this, overall a solid rental.
'Consensus: Gritty and visually striking, Watchmen is a faithful adaptation of Alan Moore's graphic novel, but its complex narrative structure may make it difficult for it to appeal to viewers not already familiar with the source material.'
I guess I was one of those viewers. I liked the way it was presented, it felt like it lacked some personality I guess. All the characters seemed slightly dull, nothing much to like about them.
i fudging know all the intracacies of crank 1 and how it relates to crank 2. it doesnt change the fact that it was amongst the worst things in cinema this year.

dude Roarchach is like the coolest movie character ever
i was always intimidated by this topic because of the large number of posts...but i hopped on.
So I've watched a lot of stuff recently, but the one that sticks out is The Machinist. I'm not gonna give it a 10/10...but I want to!
Bale is crazy, even if the movie was horrible it'd be worth seeing just how dedicated (crazy) Bale is...he lost 60+ pounds for the role, and he looks like a Holocaust survivor. The movie is great, though...and watching it a second time around is good because you catch a lot of stuff you wouldn't the first time around.

yeah, he's definitely doing damage. He's doing it right now for an upcoming film, isn't he? I couldn't believe that after Machinist, he got so fudging jacked for Batman Begins. After losing 63 pounds, he reportedly gained back that, plus an additional 40 for BB. And yeah, Rescue Dawn ...I read about it, apparently they filmed the movie in reverse, like the later scenes (where he's thinner) came first and then as he gained weight, filmed the earlier scenes.
Read somewere about a movie about a poltergeist or a ghost being shown in limited cinemas. It is shot just like the Blair Witch Project and is apparently very scary. Anyone recall the name of the movie?
Gahhh, fudge me. I saw the trailer on yahoo a week or so ago and completely forgot the name of it. I tried searching on some download sites and couldn't find a damn thing __

True. The effects in this movie were very well done, I thought.

OMG The Machinest was and is an amazing movie! I would give it a 10/10 for sure
Adventureland -- 8/10. Mismarketed as another Superbad, when in fact it's more like Juno or Freaks and Geeks. I watched this yesterday, and parts of it kept going through my mind randomly during the day today. Awesome soundtrack.
I'm kind of getting tired of this new Genre of Comedy. Or at least the same actors in every new comedy movie. My kingdom for a Chris Farley Reincarnation.
Toy Story Double Feature - Great movies, twas a lot of fun to see both at the theater in 3-D, although the 3-D was somewhat ho-hum compared to recent movies actually created for 3-D. Still, both movies are still a ton of fun. Buzz is a classic.
Got to be a Jack Black fan to enjoy this, as with most of his features. For me, it was one of those more about appreciating the comedians personalities and antics more than liking the actual movie. Some good laughs, but pretty typical.
Am I the only one who liked Rise of the Lyancs better then the other Underworld movies? Maybe it's because the vampire story arc seemed so trival and boring compared to other vampire films but the lyancs were more interesting to me since we don't have too many werewolf movies (though I'm really looking forward to the new Wolfman being made).
Still need to pick up the new Blu ray of American werewolf in London as well.

My main problem with Underworld's vampires in general is that....they seem so damn stupid. They have powers yet they never seem to use them or want to. In the first two films they go around using guns, etc. It makes the vampires seem extremely weak and fragile. They might as well have been humans, because that is exactly how they acted most of the time.
If you put a gun in Spongebob's hand and he just wandered around under the sea waxin' fools the show would instantly become more interesting.
Guns make a larger impact on the general audience because they can be possessed by anyone, special vampire powers cannot.
I do see your point though (and it's a good one), the problem is they're just retarded vampire movies at the end of the day. The action sequences, I thought, were alot more entertaining in the first two films.
