Yeah... Just tried 20 minutes of the 21 day trial. You know something's complicated when you can't even finish a tutorial correctly...
Any other of those MMO on sale I should look at? Subscription or not.

Bethesda Softworks is releasing more titles today on Steam.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion® Game of the Year Edition includes Knights of the Nine and the Shivering Isles expansions, adding new and unique quests and content to the already massive world of Oblivion. Or opt for the English-only Deluxe version of the game that includes nine DLC (downloadable content) items.
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind® Game of the Year Edition includes the original content of Morrowind plus all of the content from the Bloodmoon and Tribunal expansions. Save even more on both and get one of The Elder Scrolls ® Game of the Year Packages.
Finally, scare yourself silly with the horror-adventure game Call of Cthulhu®: Dark Corners of the Earth.
Save 20% if you buy within this first week!
I'm buying all of this right now.

...and I started playing the trial again today, ended up completing the tutorial, actually started liking the game, and bought the game (which is apparently also a month of gametime as well as the game) for $7.50. If I'm reading this right, you can actually use in-game money to buy game time too, which is what ultimately sold me on it, .

Awesome. It's crazy cheap nowadays . Curious to hear how you like it after a month or two. Eve is the kinda game that really asks you to put something into it, more so than most MMOs--what you put in is what you get out, IMO, since it's just basically a big ass spacey sandbox .

Well, playing the hell out of the game for a day, I really like it. The gametime cards are expensive (expensive as in, in-game credits-wise). I'm hoping there's an easy way to earn cash later on....

A quick Empire Total War tale, them I'm off to play it some more:
Last night, I had a single militia holding a plantation. Four units detached from the local French fort and rushed my American boys at the plantation. Outnumbered about 3 to 1 in terms of power, my boys dug in behind a low wall in front of a house and waited for the assault. The French came hard and fast, one unit setting up across from my militia, one cavalry unit flanking to one side, the other foot unit moving to flank upon the other. Three cannons boomed in the distance, raining largely ineffectual fire all about my boys (one shot obliterating the house behind them). The cavalry charged and my boys were forced to retreat, having lost about half of their number. They fled to the west. On the next turn, I stormed in with my main force (about 17 units strong) and ran out the offending French in short order. They fled beyond me, to the east, south and around a line of mountains and back to the west. I moved my main force to the fort, which would fall next turn. I moved my original defenders back to the plantation. During the French turn, they moved their ragged units back to the plantation, again taking on my weary militia. However, my boys were not intimidated, as this time the French were only one cannon, three horses and 15 foot soldiers strong. They set up in defensive position behind the same wall, and waited. The three cavalry attempted a charge, put down easily with the loss of but a single militiaman. Next, the footmen moved in, and the fighting, while brutal, was short lived. All the while, cannon shot is whizzing by overhead. After forcing the final few French soldiers to retreat in confusion, my boys skipped the chance to chase them down, instead charging down the hill, across the open plain, toward the single cannon and the few attending men firing upon them. It was a brave charge. The cannon managed to get off a single shot, which exploded harmlessly about twenty feet in front of my militia, then my boys were upon them--slaughter! They won the day, saved the plantation, and made me a very happy gamer .

Just downloaded the Max Payne Bundle (both games for 15 bucks) on Steam. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed the original until I read part of the big article on Max Payne 3 in the new Game Informer. I never played the sequel, so I'm looking forward to playing through the first one again and hitting up Max Payne 2 for the first time .

Ah yes back when I got it I couldn't imagine using the keyboard. Fallout 3 forced me into learning it, and again when my wired controller died, I had to learn how to play TF2. I still use a controller for the spy though.
On a second note, I taught my African Grey to say "jarate!" whenever he throws something, he just learned this this morning.

Uh, maybe you can't change your login details, but you can change the displayed name. Click on the Friends button on your Steam taskbar so the Friends window pops up. Then click on the little triangle next to your name, and choose "Set Friends Name".
Edit:
And Fallout 3 should've been $10. 50% off is still too pricey. :P

OK, here's a question. If you buy a company bundle (like the Take 2 bundle just posted, or the Valve bundle), and they add a game to it later, do you get the new game that is part of that bundle? Or do they change the bundle ID somehow, so that the new more-inclusive version of the bundle is sold to new customers, but old buyers only get the games that were in the bundle when they bought it?
Apparently a whole mess of LucasArts titles is about to come to Steam, and I'm thinking a bundle for those might be nice, especially since there are apparently more LucasArts classics on the way.

I'm not sure how that would work, but I think it just downloads all the games in the bundle
When they are in your Steam list, they aren't really shown as part of a bundle or anything like that
Probably just like downloading each individual game, but you are getting discount since you are buying all at the same time as bundle
Don't think they would add more games to your Steam list if they were added in the bundle

When you buy a company's all-games-available pack (like the Valve bundle before Left 4 Dead was released), you get licenses to all the games listed on the pack at the moment of your purchase. They get added to your game list (and you can download them whenever you want.)
When a new game gets added to the bundle, you -do not- get a license for that new game. You have to buy that new game separately because it wasn't available in the bundle when you paid for it. | guncrazy90
