Seriously, why is the user Rexiginis still allowed to exist in this community? He has a laundry list of trades gone bad, crap awful ratings, and now that he is back has already pended a purchase trade with a brand new user who appears to be about 13. Shouldn't something be done here so he is not afforded the opportunity to re-institute this charade every 12-15 months?

So, Dashbringer left town without sending out his pending trades... awesome!

I didn't even know he was gone until I woke up and saw he was. He takes odd jobs out of state a lot; apparently he left at about 4:30 in the morning the day he left. I don't think the post office was open.

Since EBay 5+ years ago. Sellers at only 89.6% are not considered good sellers.

A rating percentage can NOT be easily translated to the A/B/C/D/E grading system. In that system, C is supposed to be "average". A typical/average trade here goes quite well and tends to get "Excellent" feedback left. Therefore, the systems are not even closely related.

Therefore, an 89.6% rating isn't like a B+ at all (because a B+ would be ABOVE typical/normal/average). It is well below a "typical" rating (which, again, is mostly Excellent feedbacks). Therefore, an 89.6% rating here is really more like a "D" if you really want to assign a grade to it -- because it is BELOW AVERAGE.

Just FYI.

Actually, it's more easily done than you think, John. Take a look at my listing. Recent trades rating: Fair. Overall: Excellent. I'm sorry I don't meet everyone's super standards, but there you have it.

Doesn't matter anymore. Kess, Bill, all those who participated in this thread: You have assisted me in deciding whether coming back and attempting to fix my previous mistakes was a good idea or not. After a few PM exchanges with Bill, it became clear it obviously wasn't. I'm finishing the trades I've got pending and tendering my resignation. Congratulations. I hope you hound everyone who comes back to fix their mistakes this much, I really do. Keep up that elitist spirit. With any luck, you'll drive all but the six of you out of the site and then you can all support Bill yourself. The venom in the forums recently is getting wildly out of hand, and I would suggest, from an outside perspective, you rein it in. Admiral's story was a gosh darn travesty. This, not at all, but personally disappointing.

Look at it from the outside. You've come back after years away, to clean up BTR's (again).

Then, within days, you're pending new trades with n00bs, and there's a mysterious second account from your IP address. Granted, you say it's your roommate. I suppose that's marginally better than the old standby of "it's my brother," but not by much.

You've got to expect at least a little kidding and some doubts here. It's not like you're on your first try at redemption. 13 BTR's? You're lucky Bill even let you have another shot.

Take your lumps, clean up your act, and keep it that way, and the ribbing will fade.

DramaTZ

I love how a number of people who have had some unrelated issue this week have somehow managed to link it to the Admiral situation.

New policy:

Instead of simply banning bad traders I will instead subtly hurting their feelings until they leave in a huff.

You missed my point, apparently. I was just explaining that your expectation that 89% is a "B+" and therefore not that bad is inaccurate. An 89% rating here is more like a D -- because 89% is well below average.

Note that I didn't comment about whether or not you were a good or bad trader at all -- nor whether or not you should be allowed here. I think it is great that you came back and are working to fix things. Again, I was doing nothing more than explaining why people do not consider 89% to be a "B+" type of rating, sorry.

Superstandards? You have 13 BTRs and a fair rating for recently completed trades. That doesn't meet anyones normal let alone super standards.

Jeez, he over reacted... anyways, I got Bill's PM and I guess you want to ban both our accounts? I don't care but that seems weird... I mean I did a lot of trading and got a lot of stuff I wanted, so if you want to close my account I won't cry too hard, but I don't think he's coming back anyways so I will leave that up to you guys, I was looking at Goozek and maybe I can trade there instead...

I'm sorry I left stuff for him to ship while I was away, and if letting him log into my account wasn't right I'm sorry for that too. I guess every one in this apartment complex that uses the wireless internets shares an IP so maybe be careful, if someone from here starts trading here I wouldn't want you to think Bryan was making another account or something, lol

I'm willing to back off and assume you're different people for now. But, don't let Rexiginis use your account anymore. He's got a really bad reputation here.

It's odd that you both keep mentioning the apartment complex shared IP thing... The log shows you signing on and off from the same computer and you are roommates. So, that seems fairly moot.

Question - how can you share an IP address (especially among an apartment complex)?

I don't know much, but if you're connecting to a router or modem, I thought each computer would get their own IP address... because I've heard when two IP addresses are the same, it usually gives an error to one (or both) of the people saying there's a conflicting IP address. Just trying to learn a little about technology, I guess * raspberry *

Most consumer routers use network address translation (NAT). Essentially, what this does is allow many computers on a local network to share the same Internet IP address. On the "inside" of the router (your house local area network) the router assigns semi-generic IPs like 192.168.0.1, 192.168.0.2, 192.168.0.3, etc. But, once network traffic from your LAN tries to cross over to the Internet, the router translates the IP addresses into whatever IP address your network provider assigned you. And, it will do this for multiple "inside" IP (one for every computer/device connected to the router), each ends up looking like the same IP on the outside.
