Just a handful of issues in. Hard to find time to sit and read it, but I'm plugging along! Rather than skip the whole beginning I am enjoying seeing the differences between this and the show. Not many, but it's interesting. This whole series is fudging good.

I'm the only person who runs my store here, so I'm constantly accepting trade-ins, ringing out customers, stocking the shelves. It's a nightmare sometimes. I'm often working long after I close the doors. Keeps me from having time for just about anything.
Right now, I'm stocking regular Xbox games. I was almost done, until about an hour ago, when a guy brought in his Xbox and 60 games. Pretty much back to square 1.

It's almost done. I got in late last night and was in the middle of setting it up/taking pictures, sat down, and fell asleep like an old man. You're gonna crap.

Tonight, Spider-Man will be his opponent. These two are squaring off to settle a long time rivalry and hatred for one another.
Our guest referee tonight will be Angry Rock Lava Beast, the winner of the last major East Coast AFFL battle.
Angry Rock Lava Beast: "Urg... OK. Good, clean fight. Bring me, losers bones. Crunch into cereal. Are both ready?"
Spider-Man: "We're going to end this Venom!"
Venom: "I'm going to eat your brains!"
Angry Rock Lava Beast: "FIGHT!"
The first blow is landed shortly after the bell, Venom with a vicious roundhouse kick to the face of Spider-Man.
In a show of confidence Venom immediately hops back to his feet as Spidey slides across the brutal concrete floor.
Spidey: "Woo! Forgot that sucker packs a punch."
"Oh shi-!" Spidey proclaims as he leaps out of the way of Venoms lunging attack.
Spidey: "How's MY foot taste, darky?"
What the hell is Angry Rock Lava Beast doing in the midst of all this?!
Spidey hurls his arch nemesis across the battlefield at our inattentive referee.
A gun?! Is that a gun?! Angry Rock Lava Beast that is not what the AFFL is about!
A blast from the gun sends Venom hurling into the corner, smashing into Spider-Man.
With a glance, the two realize there is a much greater evil here tonight that must be shut down.
"FOR GREAT JUSTICE!"
The two heroes lunge at their attacker, who... has a sword?! Angry Rock Lava Beast where did you get a sword?!
Angry Rock Lava Beast smashes Venom into the floor with the butt of his sword as Spidey barely dodges a blast from his massive gun!
Sitting on Venom, the lava flowing over Angry Rock Lava Beast's body burns him, causing the symbiote to wither.
Eddie Brock: "Gaaaaaaaah!!!!!! The burning!!!!!"
Spidey: "What am I going to do, I can't let him kill Eddie, even if he is an butt-hole!"
"Hrmm?!" Our rocky friend stands up in surprise and checks behind him, the sound of charging boots hitting swiftly against the concrete, who dare interrupt his playtime?!
"GwaaaahHH!!!". He cries out in pain as his rock body is pierced by cold steel!
It's Guts! Guts of the Hawk's Raiders! He's come a long way from Midland to slay this demon, it seems!
Guts: "When I finish with you, I'll destroy the black demon. I'll destroy ALL OF YOU FREAKS!"
Guts: "Prepare to go back to hell where you crawled out from, demon".
Spider-Man: "Hey stranger, this isn't what the league is about! You can't kill him... you'll sink to his level."
Guts sheaths his sword, almost as if complying. Since when does Guts listen to anything anyone has to say?
*PUNT* "Get the fudge out of my face, rocky."
Spidey: 
Guts: "That better, you whiny little... huh?"
Suddenly guts falls to his knees, the pain is his neck intensifying.
"Griffith... GRIFFITH?! The only demon strong enough... to cause this kind of pain..."
An ominous, deep voice fills his mind...
"No, Guts... Griffith is merely a servant. They all are. The God Hand... IS MY HAND!!"
It's Krauser!! And he's inhaling?! What is up his sleeve?! Guts is wasting no time charging in.
"So strong, need to catch him. Now or never. He'll lead me... to Griffith!"
*BLLLLLLLEEEEECCCCCHHHHH*
It's the DEMON JEWEL!! A POWER BEYOND HUMAN COMPREHENSION!
*SPLAT*
Bwahahahaha.
The photo of Guts collapsing to the Demon Jewel was corrupted in the transfer but we assure you it was NOT pretty!
Krauser: "You are a beast, Guts. I would like to test you further, so I will let you live."
Guts: "*hack, cough* Come back here you bastard!! *cough* Gah! I'll fudging tear your head off!"
Krauser: "heh heh heh... wallow in your sticky defeat, warrior."
Krauser: "The next time we meet, I will break you. You will be my finest rape."
And with that, Krauser leapt off into the abyss, melting into the darkness.
Victor: Krauser II (Or, from the original match, we think it was Venom, but we're not really sure what happened there).

10/10. I am not sure what is a better quote ""FOR GREAT JUSTICE!" " or " You will be my finest rape."
i am a bit disappointed with guts, though, that is a golden age guts rather than a black swordsman complete with dragon slayer sword.
and what did you use for the demon jewel? the only thing i had that looked at all decent was a fluorescent green swirly bouncy ball that i wasnt able to suspend at all because tape would just fall off it |

Definitely Metal Zangief. He's fudging metal. Also, you should get a Dan figure if they have one. Dan is the crap (from Street Fighter Alpha or whatever).
The Demon Jewel is the fireball from this: http://www.amazon.com/Street-Fighter-Minimates-Ryu...
Ryu is the only one that came with a blue / green one. Akuma's is purple. There's also Evil Ryu VS Shin Akuma, but both fireballs are purple in that one. I didn't even have to suspend it. It attached directly to his face, it was like it was made for the Demon Jewel.
I had Black Swordsman Guts a while ago, a few of them. Traded some for games or something, figuring I'd just replace my Black Swordsman figures but they went out of print so fast I never got to. At least I have a Guts to work with I guess!

No idea. I buy all my Berserk Manga so in the last issue he went Berserker and killed some huge whale thing. It's only issue 30 in the states.
There is a SICK statue on the art of war website of him riding Zodd to fight that thing, but that's all I know of it. I don't know anything past 30. 
I believe I was trading for japanese imports, one actually BEING the Berserk game for PS2. Ever played that? Game is fudging intense.

Did you know the only known death as a direct result of playing a console video game was from a guy that had a heart attack playing Sword of the Berserk for Dreamcast? True story.
Not sure if there's been a death since, but as of 2003 I think it was the only documented case. I assume the game was too fudging awesome and his blood pressure just went up until he went into cardiac arrest.

there was something a couple years back about some asian dude playing either starcraft or WoW for like 72 hours straight that died. i remember that.
btw, you need to print off some of the cooler pictures and frame them and hang them in your store. |

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. The book I read was from 2003, or maybe it was 2005, but it was before the guy died from playing Xcraft (one of those crafts).
I will do that. I need to get some frames. If I go out shopping for supplies I'll get some. I will put some sick ones up, definitely the one of Krauser in JR's hat. That one is one of my favorites.

Yeah that would be good. I have not been too sneaky about my little plastic display helper things either. Fishing line will probably be a good addition. I don't have any though.
Terminator in JRs hat is also good. It would be a major toss up. People would recognize him easier though.

just got back from helping one of my college buddies move. he gave me a figure that should at least even out the terminator advantage. no its just a question of if the krauser buster i bought on ebay that is en route will live up to my expectations.
Next matches:
Match A: Iron Man vs. Batman
Match B: Krauser vs. a character that should arrive next week (not the krauser buster)
Winners of A and B will face for the AFFL championship belt (pending arrival). Maybe there will be the terminator equilizer and krauser buster run in on that match?!? WHO KNOWS! ITS THE AFFL WHERE NOTHING IS SCRIPTED!@!!!!! mostly because we don't think that far ahead
