I've been hitting the older titles lately. Not sure why...
Need for Speed: Most Wanted - After giving up on this a few months ago because it got too hard (with about 5 blacklist memebers to go) I have picked it up again and only have 2 members left now. I dunno why I'm suddenly able to continue with this but the difficulty seems more about not making mistakes. If you crash hard in one of the longer races you will prob never get back to 1st place so it's better to just restart. So it takes a great run to win but I've been making great progress and have really enjoyed this game.
Also playing Prey which is good but I'm not sure I'm going to stick with it. I'm not too far into the game but am already kinda tired of the gooey walls.
What are you guys currently playing on the 360? |

BIOSHOCK is it, baby. The only other games I'm spending time on now is WoW (just to make brief appearances), and Shadowrun for Sega Genesis (via PSP).

For the people that have or have played beyond the demo of Bioshock; I got my ass kicked once those little robots sstarted coming around for whatever reason, does it only get progressively harder with those little bastards from there or does it let up a bit? I got frustrated and just turned the demo off after I died, should I not bother renting/purchasing it??

I just finished checking out the skate demo. I keep trying to play it like Tony Hawk heh. Seems like a half decent game though that I will most likely rent once it comes out.

You got killed by a sentry bot. They aren't hard...you just electrify it and blast it...boom dead. OR you can electrify and then hack it...then it fights for you.
The game does get harder. I rented it and killed my first big daddy pretty easily (just died once) Just my opinion, but the game is slightly more enjoyable than the demo. If you loved the demo...the game will be fun for you. I don't think I would buy the game...I mainly like the atmosphere more than the game itself. But it is fun.
Hacking things can be a dog though...although there are auto hack tools and ones you can simply pay money and hack.

thanks for the info rayzor, but here's a make it or break it question: when you die, do you have to start all over again from the beginning of the level (a la Resistance or old school games) or is there constantly checkpoints? I can deal with dying 4000 times, but the second I have to redo a hard part just because a lack of saving/checkpoints, the game goes to GTZ or GameCrazy.
I did love the atmosphere of the game as I'm a big fan of that era so I'll likely have that as my next rental

The dying part actually works out good. There are bio chambers that you spawn at....whichever one was closest to the place that you died. You simply come back at that point with about half a life bar. The good thing is...everything you did until you respawn, including damage an enemy has taken...is still in effect. So even if you ran out of bullets, you COULD kill a Big Daddy with just a wrench if need be. This was a HUGE plus for me as I hate it when you get 1/4 or more into a FPS and you just get in an unlucky situation...such as a mini boss or boss and you have either no health or weapons to beat them...and it becomes impossible to move on.
You can also save the game as if you froze it anytime you want and it will start at that point.
The more I play, the more I like the game...there are alot of little cool things that are on there, like for example...there's a little power that when you look in a crate, you either take what is in there (say like some money and bullets) or check a 2nd time to see if there is something better, but you could lose the first option. I have had where there were a few bullets, I try again and then there are more bullets, a health kit and money. I've also had it where I lost everything.
For me...it's a rental. Once I beat this game, I might want to play it again, but I'll wait for it to be in the cheapo bin first. No multiplayer is fine...but it kind of kills the longevity of a game for me.

alpha, the demo is not exactly like the game. they ramped up the difficulty of the demo near the end so they could show off some of the features you don't get to until a bit later in the story. the game is really not that hard, even on the medium setting. the fact that you can ressurect when you die at the closest revive chamber almost makes the game too easy. in fact, it's easy to abuse that, so that if you are down less than half your health, it's almost better to just die and res and get a free health/eve boost than to burn through all your eve hypos and/or first aid kits. this game is definitely not just for expert shooter fans, it's got 3 settings for difficulty and it rewards patient, methodical players by having plenty of power-ups around if you look to find them. the atmosphere in this game is probably the best i've ever played. the different tactics of using combos of powers is also really fun. at least rent this, it'd be a shame to miss such a fantastic game.

Oh, I'm definitely going to rent it, I just wasn't sure if I should buy it or not. My funds won't really allow me to do so anyway right now, so looks like renting is the only choice ATM

Hey AlphakirA did you ever wind up getting one of those Xbox360 wireless adapters you were looking for?
There is one for $70 on Craigslist maybe you could sweet talk him into lowering the price. |

Anyone here got any tips for the last level of Black? I've played it like 20 times, about 10 times on easy. I can make it to the final firefight easily but then I always die during the last shootout. There is a checkpoint prior to that last shootout but because it takes like an hour to make it to that point after I die I only feel like trying one or two more times. So basically the next day I have to start the level from the start again. It sucks. |

I beat it finally, on easy though. Gonna have to go back through it on normal to get silver weapons, but not today. I wish it had online though, that would rock. Does the 360 version have multiplayer? |
