I managed to check out the demo, how in the hell did they ruin "Woman" by WOlfmother?? That was one of my fave songs (among many) in GH2, because the solo was so hard the first time I played it on hard/expert that it forced me to learn how to hammer on and get better. Now they made the solo easier by charting the synth parts instead??? Lame |

Wolfmother the band broke up last year, guess they cleaned up in terms of Royalites from videogames. Now they`re back with same singer/guitarist (Stockdale), and their new single is already confirmed to be in GH5.
But yea: "Woman" is in a crapload of games, Pure, Madden...what else?? I`m sure EA milked the hell out of it |

It was also in MotorStorm, Saints Row 2, one of EA's NHL games and Tony Hawk Project 8. |

NCAA 10 is great. The game play has improved much, motions are more fluid, new tackling actions, its much better than 09.
I downloaded it last night at around midnight, started a game on all-american or what ever it is, and wound up being tied at the end of the game, 10-10, then proceeded to have 7 overtimes, with a final score of 48-46 CPU, he stopped me on the two point conversion. That alone sold me on the game, and I preordered it before going to bed, lol.
The other thing that is great about it, is the AI actually learns in this one, as opposed to past years, you can not just run the same few plays over and over, or you going to get shut down, which is nice, makes it more interesting.

I've been impressed with EA in the last year or so, including looking at their current line-up of games going into the fall. Not only were the sports games games, for the most part, outstanding last year, but they've even looked into new IPs and seem to be working hard to change their image. I own many EA games, all of them good to great  .

I think its just still popular to hate on EA for being a successful company, just like Microsoft.
Granted they did put out some major crap in the past but so has every other producer.
Seeing EA on the game has no effect on my decision to buy a game, the actual game play does.

I just meant, that if given the choice, I choose EA over other brands. I play NBA Live over NBA 2K and the EA NHL series over the 2k one. A lot of people say NBA 2K is better than Live, but I'm just used to the gameplay, the navigation screens, and I really like the features they implement.

I'm one of the people that digs the 2K b-ball games over Live. They just have a much better feel, IMO. Live is definitely one of the weaker EA Sports games. NBA2K9 was outstanding.

I used to hate big time on EA but they're turned a new leaf in the past couple years at least on new IPs and taking chances. I also like their publisher program for developers like what they're doing with Brutal Legend.

seems to me that EA is just publishing alot of the games and keeping their own hands out of the development. Games such as Mirrors edge, Mass Effect, BF: Bad Company, Dead Space, all the best games that EA has "put out" in the last year to year and a half but none of them have been produced by EA themselves. I've never liked their Madden franchise and still to this day hold out hopes for another football game to come along so I can once again enjoy them. All-Pro Football wasn't the best which was a letdown, but that new game called Backbreaker looks promising from what I've seen, I'd like to see where that one's headed. http://xbox360.ign.com/objects/958/958004.html

I don't hate EA for their games, it's more of their bullcrap moves, which they seem to have calmed down with, only to be picked up by activision.
EA's sports games, are pretty lame, and they hardly get better from year to year. They do "publish" great games, thankfully they don't develop them, because they'd probably turn out like crap.
I still think 2k5 was my favorite football game, and I'd probably rather play that over madden 10.
I agree though, Dead Space, is probably my 2008 GOTY, next to fallout 3. |

I do agree ESPN NFL 2K5 is the best all time football game thus far. I have not been impressed with madden since 04, yet like a dummy I buy it every year hoping that is the year they stop trying to make a realistic arcade game. And I was upset 2K stopped with College Hoops, that franchise was also better than March Madness, although I do have to give EA credit for NCAA Basketball this last year, that was a decent game.

I completely disagree with them not improving on the games from year to year. NCAA Football has gotten so much better every year, just as an example, but to each his own.

If you can't see an improvement moving from Madden 06 to Madden 09, you're fudging blind.
Hope the Madden Franchise is better this year. Think I may snag it on the PS3, though.

If you guys say so. To me, I don't see much difference, but I'm not a hardcore video game sports player so.
I can't see much difference from year to year, but yeah, if you compare a 06 to 09, you're going to see some differences obviously, but not so much if you were to do 08 to 09.

Huge difference between 08 and 09 in graphics alone. 09 was quite the improvement, compared to most years (it's certainly an incremental process, overall).

Yeah, I have a feeling that my opinions on sports games from year to year is very skewed based on the amount of hours I put into sports games. I would estimate that at least 80-90% of the time I spend on my 360 is spent playing sports games. I notice the little things they change, that I could see the casual player missing.

I've played maybe a max of 4 hours worth of sports games on my 360 unless forza 2 counts then its more like 45. I don't like sports games now that im older, when I was younger thats half of what I played.

there is probably an easy answer to this question, but it needs asking. How do you turn off the auto-resubcribe to Xbox Live? I'm pretty sure that I'm getting close to the end of my sub right now and last year it auto-renewed me when I didn't want it to.

So I played the NCAA demo, and the gameplay alone has improved so much from last year it's unbelievable, and this is coming from somebody who logged a ton of hours in the 09 version.
