FFXI was a blast when we played . Would probably still be a blast, if I hadn't discovered the vast riches of WoW, hehe.

I'm quite the opposite really. For the past few years, mmorpgs have really taken over my gaming habits. Even now with my little free time, I can only consistantly play one(currently Maple Story, doubt anyone on here plays it, and before it was Ragnarok Online for about 3-4 years). I think I should slowly get away from console games and focus on mmorpgs since those give me the most enjoyment now. I just badly need to get the money to buy a better computer.

One that is going to be 5 years old in June. 900 mhz Celeron processor with 256mb ram, upgraded from the original 433mhz and 32 or 64mb or ram, I forget . It can't handle much of anything really. I could barely handle FFXI, it was rough enough to make me quit though.

yeah the computer I'm using now is ancient, like 7 years old. 400 something MHz processor, pentium II I think, really crappy ram, I could barely handle the sims. I can't wait for my new laptop. 3.2 GHz Pentium IV processor HT, 1 gig of ram, ATI Radeon X800 video card, drool.....

I like strategy games more than action games. So I am pleasently surprised its a strategy game. But it looks like it uses cards to attack? LIke some combination of strategy and Magic the Gathering or something?

It uses cards, but it still looks more like a strategy game. I heard mixed things about it. |

I think I'm just going to get a cheaper computer and try to snag a PSP from my walmart. When's the release date for it, the 24th? Hopefully I work the night it comes out so I can just do what I did when I got my DS, take a break and wait in line(though there might be more of a line this time .. was only about 6-7 people there for the DS).

I need a metal carrying case. This is critical. I broke two Palm screen and a phone screen in my bag. There is simply too much crap in there for an unprotected screen to withstand the pressure.

I do like the ones for the consoles, but at the same time I hate them cause sometimes the gameplay is annoying

Likely depends on the store. I had to wait in line with everyone else for my DS. For the DS launch they just put all of the stuff in the case in boxes before midnight, then after midnight they just opened the case and handed out the stuff. We had the stuff in stock at least two days before launch, and like most game-related items, they come in a direct shipment during the day, so they never touch a palette and head straight for the Electronics security room.
So unless PSP is going to get shipped differently, it should be about the same scenario. Looking ahead .. I think I'm off the night of the 23rd .. so unless I we get in about 20+ I doubt I'll be able to get one.

I think you're working at the wrong Walmart
Ive heard stories of like 40 PS2 being shipped to a walmart on launch and only 4 or 5 being sold to the public.
Speaking of security rooms at stores. My friend used to work at TRU back when they had those cages with the games.. He told me they would ask you if you played videogames. If you said "yes" you could not work in the security cage

EBGames is already shipping THIS safe case.
Edit: Just realized I have one exactly like this for the DS. It's nice. |

That sounds like my walmart ... though only because we had a thief who was working in Electronics.
Also, our store recently demoted our store manager for favoritism, so it wouldn't really surprise me if stuff like that happened during the day, but I've been overnight for a good year and a half and it doesn't exist for us.
Oh and systems do ship in normally, but the second shift people usually take care of them before we get there since PS2/Xboxs sell like crazy at our store and the case is usually empty.

BTW why do you need a case for the DS? It flips closed.

I have Pre ordered the PSP and cant wait till i get it. I also imported one so I can truthfully say that the PSP is worth EVERY penny. It fits comfortably in your hand, the graphics of the games are amazing for a handheld as well as the sound. The metalic fron of the PSP gets fingerprints on it easilly. So if u want to keep it looking shiny and new u will need to keep a cloth with you. Everyone that i met and talked to that was skeptical about the PSP quickly changed their tune once they saw mine. A little hint tho...you will want to buy some UMD cases for the games. Its annoying carrying the actual game cases arround. They are big and clunky. The battery life of the PSP is about 5 hours per game. The games i own are Vampire Chronicles The Chaos Tower, Ridge Racers, and Lumines. Lumines is amazingly fun. The music is good, and the games very addicitive. The graphics in Ridge Racers are great. The light, and shadowing are good, and the controlls are good as well. Vampire Chronicles is a very fun 2D fighter. I personally cant wait till i get my american one and I think everyone should get one. Its lightyears ahead of anything Nintendo can do in terms of handhelds. Im not being biased just stateing my opinion. One more thing...the screens size and resolution are great as well. Feels like you have a mini HDTV in your hand. heh. Well to all the people that pro ordered the PSP and to everyone else...get one....you wont regret it.
