Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles (Wii) - 6/10 - It's not the best RE game out there, and I think only the diehard RE fans will truly enjoy it. Umbrella Chronicles gets real repetitive real fast and it's not really that exciting. I wouldn't recommend going out and buying it brand new but I do think it's worth renting at the very least. It is easy to play, but the IR on the Wii remote isn't that accurate so even if you're trying to go for a one shot kill on a zombie, chances are you'll be hurt a few times before you actually get the reticule in the right spot to pull it off. I'm only giving it an average score because I am an RE fan, and I am only on the second mission, so maybe things will get better later.

Somewhere inside Sin, after you defeat Seymour for the last time is usually where i stop...i one time got to fight Tidus's father, what's his name, inside Sin, but that's the farthest i ever gotten, and i never beaten him
And hey, i liked the FFX characters! Auron was cool as fudge, Tidus was a great character, Lulu was bonerific(literally), Wakka and Rikku were both funny and oddly attractive in Rikku's case, Kimarhi was ok, i just hated Yuna for some reason though...

Wakka was annoying as crap, and Tidus was whinier than... some other whiny character. He was just so... whiny. |

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles - 8/10 - The multiplayer was a blast. Getting different ranks and stuff was pretty cool, and it think there's plenty of replay (finding files, etc). I guess my only complaint was that it wasn't too hard.. We were playing on Hard and we went through the mansion and train relatively fast. Crimson Heads = dog. |

alot of people seem to say that, but i dunno, he just seemed real to me, acts more like a real person than any of the other characters to me |

The Simpsons Game (Wii) - 9/10 - Hilarious stuff. Probably one of the best Simpsons games out there next to Hit & Run. I loved the level where Bart & Lisa are "inside" the video game engine....the only problem is the camera because it gets in the way a lot, making it somewhat hard to see where you wanna go.

Kane & Lynch - 6/10 - Sooooo much potential co-op fun wasted by faulty camera views, a ridiculous amount of trial and error issues and crapty controller layout.

I've been on a Castlevania kick lately:
Super Castlevania IV, SNES- 8/10 - Fun game, but very slow. It's weird going back to these old games after playing the new ones. I especially get a kick out of the whip-swing animation (like, whipping a hook, then swinging to another platform).
Castlevania Dracula X, SNES - 9/10 - A much better game, in my opinion. The graphics and animation are better, the gameplay is more interesting, etc. Plus, I think this game goes along with The Dracula X Chronicles for PSP and Castlevania Chronicles for PS1. Only thing is that it seems to be harder than CVania IV. |

Uncharted Drake's Fortune PS3 - 10/10 I'm only about 2 1/2 hours in but I can say for a fact this the best game I've played in a few years. I don't think I've ever had this much fun in an action/adventure game. Graphics are absolutely amazing as well.
Currently Playing: Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (PS3), Clive Barker's Jericho (PS3) |

Mario Land was a lot harder back in the day on the original game boy because of the LCD bleeding (made it hard to do anything accurately). Ah, low refresh rates, I do not miss you.

Just played some more Bioshock on hard, I'm not sure if I have ever played a more satisfying shooter. It still needs higher difficulty settings though.

WWE SmackDown! Vs RAW 2008 {360} 7/10
Fun game but THQ needs to hire better game testers to make sure next year's version doesn't ship with all these bugs.

if they got you to buy it, then it doesn't matter how many bugs it has, they've accomplished their mission.

I haven't bought a SmackDown game before this one since 2004 so I have no problem skipping next year's version if it isn't improved. The worst part is, all the bugs in the story mode are in every other version of the game PS2, PS3, PSP and Wii.(except the DS version, it plays nothing like the others and was done by a different development team).
I think they'll put more effort into next year's version though, they actually have some competition this time. Spike's Fire Pro Wrestling Returns is getting good reviews and is only $15 and Midway's upcoming TNA iMPACT! game looks good so far.
WWE Day Of Reckoning 2 for GameCube is still my favorite and can keep me entertained long enough until the WWF No Mercy game is ported to WiiWare.

Psychonauts(PC)-10/10 so far- The best platformer I've played in years. Looks fudging gorgeous in 1680x1050 resolution. I'm only about an hour in and its a little frustrating using mouse/keyboard controls, but definitely doable.

Ditto. I just don't like the camera perspectives when you're running around on a planetoid. It throws me off a little bit when I'm trying to jump on an enemy, for example.

Rock Band {xbox 360}: 10/10 Been playing this game with sister/cousins for last couple of days and it has been amazing. Guitar portions are definately easier than Guitar Hero's but they can still be challeging on certain songs and higher difficulties. Mic is pretty much your standard karaoke game nothing new here. Drums (the main reason i picked it up) are a joy to play, there is definately a learning curve on it but once you get hang of basics you will be hooked. Awesome moment in game is when your band is all doing good the crowd goes wild and starts singing the song along with you, first time i heard this happen it brought a smile to my face , it's a nice little touch that adds to game. Song selection is great and with downloadable songs already being available you will be playing this game for a long time. $170 may seem a bit steep but definately worth it for what your getting. Overall highly recommend RB if your into music or party games. Only thing if your looking to use RB guitar for GH 2/3 dont bother it doesn't work for either game but the guitars for GH 2/3 work on RB.

The Simpsons Game (360) - 5/10 - The voicework is HILARIOUS and the level variety is good but everything else is so utterly average or below average that this is more of a chore to play than an enjoyable romp. It's really very funny but as you're playing, it's just not fun. The camera needs constant hand-holding (ala Mario 64) and having to swap which 2 characters you have at any given time is kinda lame given that you need all 4 on many occassions and having to go find a bus stop in order to tag in take awhile. AND the map has no direction arrow so you can't tell which direction you're walking in. Very funny game that fans might enjoy but the actual gameplay isn't so good. Glad I rented it. |

Ghost Squad (Wii) - Fun/10
It's everything a light gun shooter should be.
And only 60% of the cost of Umbrella Chronicles. Fudge you Capcom.

Oh god, I can't explain it, but for some awful reason I am installing WoW.
It was like a heroin addict whos been clean for awhile, but then he stumbles upon an old stash hes had tucked away for a long time, and he just can't help it.
I was just looking through some drawers by my computer, found the WoW box. Fast forward 30 minutes and now its installed and I'm updating all the patches and stuff. |
