Wow, so they don't delete unused characters on servers?
My Dwarf Hunter is still alive on Spirestone, though hes not happy with me since I abadoned him.
I'm starting a new characters still, but its nice to know that hes still there if I want to go back to him, at least all my hard work wasn't for nothin. |

Nah, Blizzard do not delete characters, no matter how long the account has been down . Come to Zul'jin, Horde side of course .

Oh yeah, coupla reviews:
Phantasy Star Universe - 5/10 - Man, this game BLOWS.
Medieval II: Total War - 8/10 - Excellent and very deep. Great series, I'm glad it returned to the medieval period. The upcoming Empire looks amazing as well.
Half-Life II: Episode One - 8/10 - I'm almost finished with this. It's excellent, but far too short (for obvious reasons). Still, it has the same HL flow that I've come to know and love, and a few of the encounters are very memorable.
Hellgate: London - 8/10 - Repetitive but fun. The classes are all very different and enjoyable as well. I love playing the shooter class (Marksman) in first person, lotta fun.

Cid, I think I'm going to play on Dragonmaw, though I don't really want to because it seems really full. A friend of mine is just starting a character on their though. He was saying that he might want to start over though, if he does I'll suggest we switch over to Zul'jin. |

i was really looking forward to it too and tried to like it, but it's just insanely repetitive, trivially easy, and the story is kind of lame. and the graphics kind of suck (basically Xbox graphics on the Xbox 360). i never got to the online because you had to pay a fee i thought and no way was i doing that. i think a 5/10 is pretty harsh but it's definitely not higher than a 7/10. at best.

I think PSO was great back in the day, but I doubt the same type of gameplay'll hold up these days. |

yeah, that was really my problem with PSU, it was basically PSO 2.5 or whatever (ignoring that 3 exists too). and not just in game play but graphically also. and basically it is still the same type of story. i just hoped they were going to evolve the franchise but it didn't feel like it, at least not during the first 4 hours or so of PSU.
edit: in it's defense it was sold as a budget title, i think it launched at $40, but with so many other great actual next-gen games to play it just wasn't high on my priority list to finish.

I loved PSO back in the day, but everything about PSU just reeks of mediocrity.

Aye, I picked it up a coupla weeks ago (when it first came out). I forget where I downloaded it from, but it worked fine.

Looked great, even ran great with plenty of options for older PCs. No assault mode . Seemed to slightly kowtow to the console crowd (particularly in the menu's and such); some nice new additions, like a helmet pick-up that nullifies a headshot, or jump boots. Overall, more of the same in a great new package, sure to please .

Red Steel - 8/10
I don't understand all the doging about this game. The sword fighting isn't very good, but the rest of it is pretty engaging.

i kind of liked the sword fighting somewhat. not like real sword fighting but it did kind of break up the monotony a little bit and for a launch wii game it wasn't bad with the motion.

I didn't think the controls were terribly fluid.... The story-telling and crap is cool though. |

Red Steel was awesome.
Can't wait for the second one, I'm assuming they'll smooth things out quite a bit, and if they add full motion sword fighting that would be cool. |

The only problem I had with the controls was that in the heat of a major gunfight, you can't turn very well. Other than that I thought the controls were perfectly responsive.

If the Wii Remote Pointer thing (you know what I mean), gets off the screen, the character goes crazy.

Then quit flailing around and keep it pointed in the general direction of the screen.

Chessmaster: The Art of Learning (DS) - 8/10 -
Pros:
Same powerful Chessmaster engine, with AI ratings from 500 up to 1800+.
Simple, intuitive stylus navigation and control.
Perfect on the DS for portabliity.
Ability to save in the middle of games and resume later.
Room for four profiles.
Tracks your ELO rating based on rated games played.
Fun (and useful) mini-games.
Nearly 20 chess AI's, from beginner to impossible, make it great for players of any skill.
Cons:
Tutorial is woefully inadequate for anyone but the earliest of beginners. No real depth.
Josh Waitzkin's big ass image on the top screen duirng non-standard play (mini-games, etc.).
No historical matches to load and scrutinize.
Seems like UBI shot for the casual, Brain Age crowd, and didn't offer the depth the series is known for.
Overall, a solid portable chess game that has recently relieved Chessmaster (GBA) as my main chess squeeze on the road. Plays great, with an innocuous interface (other than Josh's big ass image, but it's gone in regular play). It was an early XMas gift, and I digs it.

Hmm, the official site has a lot of info nowadays:
www.worldofwarcraft.com
Also, Wowhead has some nice info (and a talent calculator):
www.wowhead.com
Thottbot is still great for quests, maps and such:
www.thottbot.com
CT is a great mod (once tweaked to how you like it):
www.ctmod.net
Also, off the top of my head, I suggest the following mods:
Atlas
Atlasloot
Titan Panel
Decursive
Gatherer
Lotta other good stuff out there too, for specific classes, AH'ing, etc. www.worldofwar.net has a nice UI page, but it seems to be down right now (the link is on the left side).
Hope that helps!

Pokemon leafgreen 9/10
Love playing the pokemon games and this one is one of the best. Next to gold/silver of course.
After beating the Elite four you are able to visit the sevii islands. A new area in this remake of the Blue version. You can breed pokejoes there and find a necessary item for trading to P/D.
The second time through the elite four is crazy. The pokemon are level 70's. Gives a nice challenge.
Nothing beats the fight with red in Silver/gold
