Assassins Creed

Its still early, I've only just got my sword back and stuff, but so far I think I'm going to be one of the people that gives this a 9/10. Its pretty damn awesome.

Never played the older GW games before but damn this is addicting. One of the few games where I keep trying to raise my high score so I can compare it to the others on the online leader boards.

Picross DS-9/10 Excellent puzzle game. I've done these types of puzzles for years on paper, and am very glad to see them in an accessible game. For those who haven't done the puzzles before, there's a tutorial that you're forced to do (so it's extremely remedial if you've done them before). The stylus control works very well, especially when using the d-pad to select modes (shading, Xing, moving, zooming). I only have a couple problems with it at this point. In normal mode, you're penalized for shading an incorrect square; this isn't really bad except it's relatively easy to slip a little with the stylus and shade a box you didn't mean to shade. The other complaint is that it's pretty easy. I've only been stuck a few times, and even then only for a couple minutes.

I finally got Virtua Tennis 3 yesterday and my girlfriend and I tore it open for some lobbing action! (of course, we had to get her the pink 360 controller first!)

all in all its the damn perfect tennis (pong) game. Feels just like the amazing VT and Tennis 2k2 (VT2) for the Dreamcast.

So good. soooooo good. I'm so happy I finally got it to quench my VT addiction. Time to retire the VT DC games now and indulge myself in VT3!

Would y'all please stop re-buying the same games over and over again? Nintendo could stop making new titles altogether and still turn a profit because you are willing to re-purchase games you've already bought 2-3 times previously.

Generic shooter can be traded for $60 generic RPG which can eventually be traded for $60 generic racer, etc. With 'classic', you buy it, you own it, done. * smile *

Call of Duty 4 (360) - 8/10 - A solid game, no doubt, but I do have some issues with it. Most of the action is fantastic and really enjoyable but I'm getting distracted by monster closets, invisible barriers that your buddies won't cross unless you go first, and the 3-4 machineguns that all look and shoot the same.

The raid on the tv station was wicked sweet and really intense. Nicely done. I got my ass handed to me several times until I realized that all I needed to do was cross certain locations in the room so that my buddies would proceed forward. That was both a relief and a disappointment.

So, is it because I have the jumper pack in(I remember it running perfectly smooth as well)?

I tried taking it out but it wont run, so whoever sold me the N64 probably still has the old memory thing that went in there.

The more I play CoD 4, the more I love it. Haven't been able to play it online yet, but the single player is iiiiinTENSE.

I just beat the mission that took place 15 years ago, when you're Price in the gilly suit. Anyone have an estimate to how much longer I have until the end? I really don't want it to end anytime soon... and that's rare for me once I really get into a game.

I wasn't feeling well these past few days and got a lot of gaming done.

Finished:

Ratchet and Clank Future Tools of Destruction: 9/10

and

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune: 9/10

I think Ratchet and Clank FToD is my favorite game of 2007 - I really couldn't believe how good it was. Uncharted was also surprisingly good: I didn't think I would find the balance of action and platforming favorable, and I had heard that most of the puzzles were pretty lame, but the exotic locales and charming characters won me over. The gameplay is solid, and while I found some of the shootouts to be too drawn out, they were still a lot of fun.

I currently have about 50 stars in Super Mario Galaxy. Right now, I'd rate it at about a 9. After spending so much time with Ratchet and Clank, and Nate, Elena, and Sully, Mario and his friends seem a little flat and boring. The platforming is good, though and all the worlds are well-designed.

Unfortunately it's very short but you're about ½ - 2/3s of the way through give or take. There's 18 levels (with the last being super short) and you just finished 11. But wasn't 'All Ghilled Up' fun as hell? And the graphics...*drool*

All Ghillied Up was awesome. Incredible, even. However, the next level... not so much. Like Nick said, the part at the end, waiting for the chopper to arrive, sucked (except, laying out the C4 and claymores before the enemies started coming was pretty freakin' sweet). This game must be harder than previous CoD's, because in certain parts, I've had a haaaard time. It's ok though, I love it.

I'm surprised this many people are having trouble. I'm mediocre at best at video games that aren't RPGs and yet I beat this in the first and only time on the level. Got killed a few times when I had to carry the guy, but when we hit the ferris wheel I was fine. I guess it really just depends on where you plant the claymores. As long as noone can sneak up behind you you should be good to go.
