No More Heroes - 8.5/10 ...but I only played the first hour last night, it seems pretty fun but might get a lil too repetitive, I hope I don't go on too many coconut missions though
Viking - 7.5/10 ....score might go up or down depending on how much more there is to do, how well it ends, pretty fun though once you figure out what you're doing. At first I really didn't like it cause I took down a patch of 15-20 guys and the Viking hero can only really attack one guy at a time (you have to learn to move around a lot in battle and sneak around as much as possible) |

Yeah, the missions to get cash in NMH can really suck. Just do the assassination one with the Pizza place for $50,000. It took about 8 seconds on average for me.

Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure - 8/10
I got this game because I've loved every other game I've played that involved putting up graffiti. But JSRF this ain't. It's much slower and more methodical, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes it drags. The overall gameplay is basically Jet Grind Radio meets Splinter Cell meets Fighting Force, although it's also reminiscent of Syphon Filter and Dead to Rights. That works fine, but the controls are a little clumsy and the camera can be very awkward at times. Still, it's pretty fun so far. The best moments are when you have to creatively navigate the terrain in order to reach difficult tagging spots. The plot and voice acting are surprisingly decent too, and I like how it features actual graffiti artists. An 8 might be a little generous, but it gets +1 for featuring the voice of Adam West as the police chief.

Trauma Center: Second Opinion - 8.5/10
This is definitely the kind of game made for the Wii controls.... has anyone played the DS version? I'm wondering how you rotate bone fragments using the stylus...
Both a pro and a con is the uneven difficulty of certain surgeries. You can breeze through the first 5 or 6, and then BAM you lose your patient 6-7 times in a row. It's also a pro because it forces you to get a feel for all the instruments at your disposal.
Probably my only other gripe so far is the 'Gran Turismo-esque' music on the menu screens...it just doesn't fit right at all with me. But other than those two, it's a really sweet game, like Operation on steroids. |

Okami - 8/10 - I don't think it's as good as everybody is saying (or as good as Legend of Zelda), but it's a fun one thus far. |

DOAX2 - 3/10 - Water Slide is not a game. Stare at a girl by the pool is not a game. Everything else sucks just as much (I thought only female body physics were terrible, try the Wave Race game, oh god). They managed to break the volleyball somehow, it's less fun than DOAXBV which i'm not ashamed to say was my first Xbox game since it was the cheapest one the store had
Ai Choaniki - 8/10 - It's just as awesomely ridiculous as I hoped for.
Sprung - 2/10 - It's not even the concept that kills the game, you'd think a DS dating "sim" or whatever would have good dialouge trees, but it's complete guesswork. You start the game with like 30 items further adding to confusion. Terrible.
Awkward games day FTW

Must be something wrong with the Wii version then, the PS2 version was 50 hours of pure bliss for me.

Steel Battalion: Line of Contact - 7.5/10
- Multiplayer only is a huge letdown. More single player Steel Battalion would have been incredible.
- Framerate sucks at points, but doesn't interfere with the battle much especially considering the pacing.
- Landscapes tend to be barren. I 'only' have 3 copies of the game and don't have XBL so it's often a couple minutes before you find someone in the desert wasteland of nothingness that every level is. One level has a bridge across water, I guess that's a highlight.
- There's like 4 levels? Please tell me you can unlock more or something.
- Gameplay modes suck considering the amount of people. Did they really expect to get 10 players at a time playing this beyond the first few months? The needed something to support smaller groups of people. I guess it's not a game meant to be small in scale though.
- Draw distance still sucks.
- Everything here should've been included with Steel Battalion. Seriously. It was a $200 game.
That said... there's lots of little improvements over Steel Battalion which I'm loving. The startup sequence is quicker, moving long distances isn't as tedious, no retarded AI to deal wtih and fudge it, having 3 copies of this game running in the same room at the same time is damn near the coolest thing ever.

I watch Normal replays and I'm just in awe I've only been playing a few hours (besides the bit I've played on a friends Gamecube a couple years ago) and I can blow through Easy on a couple credits... getting a terrible score. Comboing is so difficult, and I can barely keep up with the polarity when just the regular crap is on the screen, but with Normal I have to make sure not to change polarity right after killing something, ughhh.

Admiral gave this to me for FREE a little while ago, and I'm just getting around to playing it. I love ryhthm games, and I love quirky cutesy games, so this is pretty much AWESOME. The cut scenes are funny, the songs are funny, and the gameplay is pretty fun. I'm not very good at it yet, but it doesn't seem like it'll be to hard after some practice. I don't know how to get Cool ratings though, I'm barely straddling the line between Good and Bad. |

SPACE INVADERS REVOLUTION. Also if you're into retro, Lead on 2600 is probably the most impressive retro homebrew i've ever played.

Metroid Fusion - 8/10 - Haven't beat it yet, but it's damn challenging. It kind of holds your hand in terms of exploration, moreso than even Metroid Prime since you practically trip over navigation rooms, but the bosses are difficult and the respawning enemies sure are a pain. I'm currently stuck on Nightmare and I hear SA-X is even more difficult.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII- Excellent, excellent game. The graphics and sound are beautiful, the combat fast paced and fresh, the characters distinct, and the story engaging. I'm only about 2 1/2 hours in so far, but I love it. The loading times are pretty bad, though. 9.3/10

Now that I graduated from college and am currently taking a short break before starting a REAL life, I have time to actually beat games. I just finished these two.
Devil May Cry 4 was decent, although DMC3 definitely is the finest in the series by a long shot. The disappointment in this game came from level design and the fact that you play the same game twice, first as Nero and later as Dante. You beat all the bosses with both characters, and then you fight them in a Gauntlet type level. Not sure what the development team was thinking here. Trish and Lady had very minor roles which kinda sucked, especially Lady. Nero's Devil Bringer was actually cool and I welcomed the gameplay from that. Overall, it ranks behind DMC3 and DMC, but of course, ahead of DMC2, which I shouldn't even acknowledge. I give it an 8,5/10.
No More Heroes, I just finished this earlier, and while I enjoyed the game for the most part, it eventually became a grind. It also suffered from poor level design. The last few missions just felt like Suda51 and his team gave up putting in any effort. There was hardly a "level" before a boss near the end of the game. The story itself all came together in the end, but poor pacing and too over the top. The characters and voice acting/presentation was the best part of the game. 8/10.
On another note, I finished Uncharted: Drake's Fortune a few weeks ago. Short game, but definitely worthwhile experience with awesome presentation. Now I'll be working on Assassin's Creed, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Stranglehold, and Zack & Wiki. |

I never go through and get enough energy tanks *sigh* that's what everyone tells me when I tell them X-Metroid-Game is difficult. But Nightmare is pretty damn hard. I don't have the space jump down and I just keep constantly crashing into him.

Metroid Fusion - 8/10 - The game was pretty easy besides a couple tricky bosses, espeically Nightmare. I beat him the second try after I posted so maybe I was just burnt out since I played the game in one sitting up until that point last night. After Nightmare the game is a cakewalk, I expected more from SA-X honestly. During the fight with Omega Metroid I expected a giant Metroid to come and latch on to his head when he knocked me down Anyway, 8/10 because it holds your hand way too much when Metroid is about exploring (I know you can go off on your own, but still. It even tells you if an item is in the room!) and while difficulty curves up, it's pretty inconsistent.
Edit: I forgot, Ridley was only like the easiest boss in the game, wtf!
