You contradicted yourself. You said the 2nd was more like playing real guitar, then you said it wasn't.

It's like Magic: The Gathering if they made it into an action/strategy game. When people say it's a CCG transformed into an action game, they mean it. Personally I feel it's one of the most underplayed games ever, along with Trap Gunner and Evil Zone!

Yeah because I said it was exactly like the real guitar. I do play guitar, don't act like you play an instrument Vern and know what you're talking about.
If I'm going to play a simulation game, I want it to be as similar as possible. You're not actually swinging a bat in a baseball game, but you still want it to me realistic and good simulation. Therefore, I'd rather play a Guitar Hero game that is more like playing the real instrument than one who just plays melodies that are nothing like what a real guitarist would play.

Guitar Hero isn't a simulation game; or, if it is, it's done extremely poorly. Guitar Hero/Rock Band are designed to make you feel like you're actually playing an instrument despite not having a shred of talent in your body. The complexity of a guitar cannot be reduced to five digital buttons and a whammy bar, as you're surely aware. So, again, Guitar Hero is not a simulation game (DDR doesn't simulate dancing, Taiko Master doesn't simulate drumming, etc.).

I'm curious about what you would consider a simulation game then. I'm not arguing that these games are anywhere close to what they're supposed to represent, but I'm just wondering what games actually do accurately portray any activity.
Note: I'm well aware that I probably sound like an idiot

Yeah, drumming is a lot like a real drums set. Defintely more so than guitar.
Obviously, the main goal of Guitar Hero is not to be a simulation. To me, personally, it is one though. I play guitar, but I'm not amazing at it, Guitar Hero allows me to simulate playing songs that I would never be able to play other wise.
And to say that playing an instrument in both Rock Band or Guitar Hero doesn't require talent is preposterous. It may not require the same talent that playing the real instrument requires, but it is still a talent nonetheless. If it wasn't, everybody would be amazing at it...

Not hard to simulate hitting things with a pair of sticks.

Strider 2 (psx) - 8/10
Amazing control, awesome action, great bosses, all the ingredients for a perfect action game. My main problem with it is how it stops to load after every small area, and when it loads up, you're in a completely different place. It's kind of jarring, especially with how abruptly the game stops and gives you the Strider 2 splash screen every time. This game would've been a lot better with less loading and actual transitions between areas. And animated cutscenes instead of stills. And why wasn't this game on Dreamcast?
<benstylus> what crappy game from 15 years ago have you been playing lately?

Yeah, the controls are perfectly fine. They work great once you get used to them. It's surprisingly responsive considering the sensor is pointing to the left.
And I didn't say it wasn't really that good of a game. It's amazing game, just not the greatest game of all time. It's a lot of fun.

Some of the tracks look pretty similar to Mario Kart 64 which is pretty cool. I honestly never played Double Dash more than once ot twice, but I assume that it's pretty different.
All the power-ups are still there, there's some new ones added on though. Obviously, with the Wii, the controls are all difference, but they have the same purpose. You can still drift (or hop), etc. It has battle mode and the 100c, 150c circuits, etc.
On the whole, it's a great game. Possibly better than Mario Kart 64.
