Call of Duty 4 (360) - 10/10
I waited to get this for 360 for archivement points but man what a crazy awesome game. I think the photo-realism might be what gets me, it just blows me away visually.
Soldier of Fortune: Payback (360) - 7/10
Pretty damn good for being so cheap, I'm pretty sure it was only $20 used at Blockbuster (looked unrented lol). Definitely a poor man's Call of Duty but this game is better than Conflict Denied Ops or Turning Point in my opinion.
I might start playing Brawl and Beautiful Katamari soon but I'm just too hooked on COD4 right now |

Castlevania Bloodlines - 8/10 - I haven't beat it yet, but I've liked what i've played (through the 4th stage). I gotta beat it tonight. I really like that I haven't felt cheated by a jump yet. Even though the jumping is fixed once you press the button, I haven't yet missed a ledge that i've half-landed on. Very generous

Been playing New York Times Crossword Puzzles for the NDS lately. Fun game, I'd say it's a must-have if you like crosswords or want to learn how to do crosswords.

Played through a bunch of demos for PSP:
Space Invaders Extreme - 9/10
Wow I'm addicted to this demo. I may actually buy this game though I'd rather have it as a download than UMD.
Minna No Golf Portable 2 - 7/10
The anime is overwhelming but the golf is great.
SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2 (both demos) - 9/10
Wasn't sure about this game mainly because I'm not much for tactical shooters but I'm really liking it.
Xyanide Resurrection - 6/10
I like 360 degree gameplay but its kind of bland as a shooter.
Smash Court Tennis 3 - 7/10
Just like Virtua Tennis, but not on the Dreamcast.
Killzone: Liberation - 7/10
Intriguing but I'm not sold on the controls.
NBA 08 - 8/10
Fun gameplay with great graphics.
Dungeon Explorer - 5/10
Pretty standard dungeon crawling fair with some quirky stuff.
Bounty Hounds - 6/10
Pretty standard hack and slasher but the demo was just an arena so there may be more to the full game.
Full Auto 2 - 7/10
Fast and fun, but the graphics are kind of edgy and the multiple objectives take away from the fun.
Ridge Racer 2 - 7/10
This series is definately depending too much on drifting but the game is gorgeous.
MotoGP - 7/10
I really loved this series on Xbox but I think a lot of that had to do with the dual stick control setup.
Plus the graphics are kind of bland.
Medal of Honor: Heroes - 8/10
Reminds me of playing some FPSs on the Dreamcast. Once I got used to the controls the game was really fun,
save the character running too slow and the 10 sec respawn time (deathmatch). Makes me want to play the sequel.
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops - 8/10
Great for a Metal Gear game but I don't know what it is, Metal Gear has just kind of run its course with me.
echochrome - 7/10
Fun little puzzler but can be frustrating.

Well yeah. I mean, everyone can pretty much immediately understand the rules for doing a crossword, but actually doing them is a bit of an acquired skill. It takes a while before you start to understand the subtle way clues are written which gives you hints about the word. Like, if the clue is plural, then the word will be plural. If the clue is abbreviated, then the word will be an abbreviation. If the clue is in quotes, then usually it's a phrase related to the clue phrase or word related to the clue phrase. If there are words besides the first letter of the clue that are capitalized, then you're looking for a proper noun. If the clue has an underscore it most likely is two or more short words used to fill in the phrase. Like "welcome _ jungle" would be wanting "tothe". A lot of times the proper nouns in a puzzle are thematic. A lot of times there will be a puzzle within the puzzle where you have to guess long phrases that are based on other words in the puzzle you've already answered.
Stuff like that.
The reason that NYTCW for DS helps you learn this crap is because you get the answer immediately if you want to buy a hint. The scoring is based on time, and if you are stuck you can press X and it will fill in the highlighted letter for you for a time penalty. It's not like doing it with a newspaper because I mean who realistically bothers to wait until the next day to get the answers, typically if I can't do a newspaper one I just move on with life.
And this crap is highly addictive. I was up past midnight playing this game last night. I get up at 5:15 am.

Yeah, my first playthrough in Sands of Time was just around six hours, and that's with finding pretty much all of the sand tanks and life bar extensions, etc. Second time I played through I finished it in just over four hours.

I read that the single player mode is just a tutorial more or less. Even if you're going to play by your lonesome it said to just play the multiplayer mode and have the computer control the other guys or something. |

Its more than just better graphics and sound, they change up the gameplay and there's bosses/powerups.

Don't be fudging ridiculous, Nick. Yeah, it's Smash Bros., so it's great, but the game does not deserve a perfect score. Lame characters like Lucas and King Dedede, rehashed level design, and almost unbearably terrible online play make this game no more than a 7/10 for me.

Rehashed level design? The whole game is the same, albeit a bit slower. It's just SSBM 2008.
