Meanwhile I started Mirror's Edge (), 8/10. I'm really liking it. Its right up my alley since I really like Prince of Persia and Tomb Raider too because of the acrobatics. Sometimes the timing is frustrating and I'm already through chapter 2 after 30 mins. Glad I didn't pay full price.
Killzone 2 looks great, but the lack of co-op is a big downer. I heard the multiplayer is very good, though. I don't play much of either, but I think what makes Resistance 2 so great is the advancements that Insomniac made in both areas.
And, I heard a similar complaint, admiral, about the camera zoom. It seems like your character is very short, or something like that.
Anyway:
Star Ocean: First Departure - 7.5/10. Very good game. The graphics are surprisingly bright and clear, and the battle system is as fun as I remembered it to be (from my SO2 experience). I'm really looking forward to getting into the various skills. A lot of the writing is cheesy and the voice acting is pretty on par for JRPGs, but as someone who has fond memories of SO2, I find it all very charming.
Resident Evil 5 Demo - 8/10.. It was OK. Controls took a ibt of getting use to. I'm not sure I like having to babysit a teammate the entire game and worry about da dog stealing my ammo and whether or not some big black dude zombie is all up on her crap.
Dead Space (Xbox 360) 9.5/10. This game came out of nowhere and has blown me away. Looks and plays great. Atmosphere's really creepy as are the enemies. Has made me jump dozens of times throughout what i have played of it so far. I am currently on Chapter 7(6 hrs) which is the halfway point and have loved every min of it . Only complaint i have is that there is a little to much backtracking but just a small complaint so no big deal. Highly recommend this title.

Mirror's Edge - 7.5/10 - I like it a lot, but I'm afraid of the length since there hasn't been any mindblowingly different platforming from the first few minutes. I meant to beat this days ago but I've been wrestling with an audio bug with Realtek drivers

I just got it in a trade. It was one of the games I got when I first got a Game Boy. It's not a bad game. It's pretty weird. EA licensed the Skate or Die name to Konami, who made something completely different out of it. Half the stages are side-scrolling platformer stages (with you on a skateboard), which have a boss at the end. Most of the difficulty comes from hazards in the environment, rather than actual enemies. What few enemies there are, are all on skateboards. The other half of the stages are overhead view, and you're constantly skating downward. These stages have no enemies and no boss, just tricky jumps, spikes, and a time limit. I've never played anything else that was like that.
The problem with the game is, it's just not that great. The level design is very basic. It gets difficult, but it never really gets exciting.

"Just went through GUNVALKYRIE again. Got all the cores this time, Kelly Lv-3 is pretty sweet.
Sorcerer's Maze(PSone)-8/10-Holy fudge! Breakout with awsome power-ups and BOSS BATTLES!!!!! I cant get past the dog that blows bubbles, if anyone has even played it before.
I've played it before, but I don't remember a Bubbles.
Fear 2 Demo - totally fudged up crack/10 - Looks like it'll be very good (the AI seems smart, and the cover system is nice), but it's a bit too freaky for me to invest in.

Mirror's Edge (PC) - 8/10
Love the gameplay, love the art style. I have this sinking feeling, however, that the game is going to be shorter than I would have liked.
The cutscenes, though...
"Icarus... Wasn't he the Greek dude?"
You know, you don't need to be afraid to give your characters a tiny bit of intelligence. People don't normally talk like that. If you're smart enough to remember the character-in-question's nation of origin, you probably wouldn't follow it up with something from the Ninja Turtle lexicon.

Is it just me, or have copies of Final Fantasy VII become the Stones of Jordan of the game trading world?
I had that feeling to like "when's this game going to get awesome, because I know it's not that long." The whole game generally is, but there weren't enough "moments" really, or even very difficult platforming. I'd love to see some kind of excuse to have us doing wallruns, to 180 degree jumps, onto beams or something. Even if it was just some kind of alternate, difficult route to shave off some time. I hope Mirror's Edge 2 takes it farther.
Did you play with KB+M or a controller? I thought I'd have to use a controller but found out I preferred KB+M like any other first person game. There's really only 3-4 basic controls, so it wasn't hard to profile at all.
Does anyone still play Unreal Tournament III on 360? I'm looking for people that would boost for ranked matches with me Nobody plays ranked at all any more.

Keyboard and mouse. That's why I opted for the PC instead of either of the consoles.
I suck with a gamepad at first-person games anyway, but with Mirror's Edge, strafing slows Faith down ridiculously. I need something that allows for faster turns, and the mouse is much easier than the gamepad for me in that sense.

They really fudged up the online with that one. Should have had a party system and ranked matches similar to the way Halo or COD does.

I need to snag it again, I had a good time the little I played it on the 360.

Indeed!! I really hated that. Tapping left or right kills all your momentum, so I used the mouse to move around almost exclusively.
Star Ocean: First Departure - 9/10 - I have no complaints about this game whatsoever, at least not yet. I'm not sure how it played in its original incarnation on the Super Famicom, but the remake uses the same engine as Star Ocean: The Second Story and it plays the same way. I just wish I had a slim PSP so I could play the game on my TV.
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix - Long fudging title (gasp), but a really, really great iteration of the classic. The love for the original comes through in every pixel, every tweaked move, the nearly spotless online play. Outstanding fighter.
Very fun! Played it with a buddy of mine, 2 short games & 2 long games. Streamlined better than the first game, more entertaining voiceovers too. Also, the 8-Bit section questions are super awesome! They are movie scenes remade, but they have been remade into NES-style graphics with NES-style sound, very cool.
All in all, an excellent trivia game, both Scene It?'s for the 360 are in my book.
