How long have you been playing? I found that in the middle of my third fertile ground, I had a good grasp of all the controls. I still died a lot, but it was for other reasons.

I really liked the Prince, too. I think I liked him because he was an atypical character in that role. There were a few times where I thought his less serious aspects were a bit over the top, but I enjoyed him and Elika a lot. I spent a lot of time talking to Elika, which I think is why I like them so much. A lot of their development is carried out in those conversations, and you get to see that both are well-rounded characters. They have a lot of poignant conversations about Elika and the kingdom, but also have a lot of fun (the guessing game cracked me up).
I didn't like Assassin's Creed much, but I didn't give it much of a chance, partially because my 360 bugged out whenever I played it. I might get it for the PS3 at some point, though.
Anyway, like I said before, I'm really interested in what people think about everything when you've done. I purposefully neglected to mention some things in my review (things that I didn't think would affect the review or score) because I wasn't sure how I felt about it one way or another.
I don't know why I'm even bothering to put this on here, because everyone already knows (or they should) that this is one of the best games of this generation. I'm playing through it for the second time now, put it's still just as great as the first (without the suprise of the plot twists though). Excellent controls, wonderful level design, cool/useful array of weapons and powers. Definitely and without a doubt a AAA title. If you haven't played it, go out and get it NOW. It's only $20 new for the 360 and it just had a $20 price drop on the PS3, so it's only $40.

Jaric: I'm only past the first Fertile Ground, and then I did some wandering around in that area collecting Light Seeds.
I think I will end up liking the game more, the only thing that is kind of a turn off so far is that the controls just don't feel as smooth as I'd like them to in a game like this.
I agree with everything you said about the Prince and Elika though, they're fantastic and that's definitely my favorite part of the game so far.

The personality is okay, but the voice (Nolan North, same guy who did Nathan Drake) felt off to me. I'm not saying they should've gotten a super-fob Indian sounding guy, but something a little more fitting to the environment and less "rugged All-American". Elika's voice was fine, for example. As for the optional conversations, some of them were fun and endearing, while others were a little hokey to me ("I know which end of a camel does what!")
Also, the final "boss fight" (if you can even call it that) was terrible.
As for the ending...
At first, it felt pretty lame, like why the hell did we just go through all of this if he's just going to undo it all in a minute? Also, there are some small nitpicky issues, like the fact that I still had 150ish light orbs out there in the world, so why didn't he go grab one of those instead of insisting on the one from the tree (and how did he know there would be one from the tree anyway)?
But now after I've had more time to think about it, it's kind of growing on me. In the end, Elika was more important to him than preserving an empty land or supporting an absent god that he didn't believe in, or even preserving all of the work that they had done together. That's fair enough, and I'm interested to see the sequel.

I had the same reaction. I was annoyed at first, and then I just became perplexed. I have no problem with the love angle or the choice that he made, but it seemed...out of character for the Prince - not the decision itself, but the way he carried it out. He didn't seem to have any sense of guilt about it. He actually seemed happy with himself as he walked away from the temple, carrying her. I'm not surprised he decided to bring her back, but I expected him to be at least a little bit remorseful about it, not just because he basically undid everything the two of them had done together, but because he knew how important it was to her. That aside, I thought the ending was really daring on the part of the Ubisoft - in a good way. I can honestly say I really struggled with the decision (I guess I really didn't have a choice other than to stop playing) to cut down the saplings, and I don't think a game has ever made me feel like that before. And because of that, I thought it was a good conclusion in that it was effective.
And I thought the final boss fight was great in conception, but not very good in execution. It was hard to see where I was supposed to go because the camera was so far back and because it was pretty dark.
Also, in retrospect, I agree with you on the Prince's voice. I didn't really think much of it as I was playing, but now that I look back on it, his voice did seem out of place.
Altogether I thought it was a good game but at times the AI felt "cheap". The health system helped but the enemies had near "perfect" aim at times.

Valkyria Chronicles - PS3 - Wow this game is amazing - the artwork is fantastic - the gameplay is fun - voice work was done very well. I am very impressed.
Prince of Persia - PS3 - Again I love the artwork - when I first saw images of the game I did not like the direction they were taking, but the minute I started playing it, i loved it. The gameplay can be fairly simple at times - good puzzles, POP style. You cant die which is probably a good thing, otherwise I dont know if you could make it through the game. Its fun though - very solid gameplay.
Dead Space - 6/10 - I'm just not a big survival horror fan I guess. The game looks very good and the controls are ok. The story is lame and I hate how simple barriers keep you from exploring what should be an interesting environment. I got stuck on the cannon part and realized I didn't care if I finished the game or not.
Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War II Beta - Decidedly different from the previous game, with even less base-building and tactical combat more on par with Company of Heroes. Beautiful game, visceral and fun, multiplayer is a blast.

PC or 360 version?

Left 4 Dead - 7.5/10 - Cool game, but there doesn't seem to be much too it. The lack of content is shocking considering how rather repetitive the game is. It's a lot of fun, but I can't see myself coming back to it so the swarm of zombies can spawn from different windows. Good game, interesting mechanics that work well together, but disappointing compared to the hype.
Logitech G13 (Hardware, sue me) - 8.5/10 - Finally going to cause me to switch from arrow keys to this. Your hand seems to simply fall into place, and there are plenty of keys around them at all times. Switching from ctrl/enter to whatever keys are on my pinky and thumb was actually a lot smoother than I expected. In fact, it's probably the best control scheme I've ever used LCD is useless garbage, I'll assume the analog stick is too, even though it's perfectly placed in terms of comfort.

Kinda how I felt about it. I didn't even finish it, traded it off. It can be a lot of fun with a few friends; I may snag it when it's cheaper.
I could definitely see Left 4 Dead retail dropping to $30 by the summer just because of all of the used copies that would be flowing around. People are definitely going to be getting tired of it pretty quickly (especially for what is basically an online only game).
I don't see how it was getting nominated for GOTY on some poll/websites. I was pretty fun but no where near the calibur of some of the other games last year.

It came out towards the end of the year and was still fresh in peoples minds.
I don't think that's it at all, at least not for Left 4 Dead. Looking at the game objectively, it did try to be fresh and inventive, with 4-player co-op from the ground up, being able to play as a zombie, wrapping a standard FPS in an intriguing new wrapper. It's a lot of fun, there's just not enough of it, or enough in the way of baddies too (need more baddies, need more baddies...).
Just my two cents. It's a good, but not a great, game...I'd have never nominated it for GOTY.
I also don't think it would have gotten half as much attention were it not Valve...
Kung fu Panda on Xbox 360 on normal difficulty,it was a very easy game.It was pretty fun for a family game, the graphics were good, but anyways,it deserve a 6.8/10

I've always questioned scores given compared to a game's hype. If Left 4 dead was just dropped into your lap, and it being a lesser known game, what would you had rated it?

7.5... I didn't give the score based on the game's hype. I just said it was hyped as this great, AAA game made by the almighty Valve, and although I like it, it's not what I'd expect from them.
Crayon Physics - 5/10 - This was a letdown. It seems like a good premise, and it's actually really cool, but the game doesn't go anywhere. Some of the later levels are difficult, and I realize the fun comes from figuring out the "right" way to do a level, but it loses a certain flair when you figure out how to break the game. 90% of the game's levels can be beaten the same way with the "breaking" method I used, and I'm sure there are many similar loopholes or strategies that work for nearly every level.
It's like The Incredible Machine, but with unlimited parts... Not exactly a challenge.
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Xbox 360) - 9/10 - Wow, I can't believe I haven't played this game sooner. I'm really enjoying it. It's like X-Men Legends, except you get to play as any of the Marvel superheroes instead of simply as the X-Men. I wish I had some MS Points so I can download the Hero/Villain pack.
I know that if you form certain teams, like the Avengers and the X-Men, you get stat bonuses, but otherwise what difference does it make which heroes you use? There's never a time where you would need one over another.

Have you played Ecclesia? I didn't saw it was way better than Sorrow (thanks for the correction Dub), but I do like it a bit better. I liked being able to go to multiple locations rather than just the castle.
