Dear Kess,
You listen to Giant Bomb and not Joystiq. We can no longer be bestest friends.

I listened to the Joystiq podcast once but didn't like it. To many people talking at once - it was an audio clusterfudge. Also, you heart it, so it can't be that good.

Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core (PSP) - 10/10
This game was so addicting I couldn't seem to put it down, and deservedly so. I can't believe the amount of obvious time put into this game- everything in it is absolutely perfect. From the BEYOND WORDS cut scenes to the deep, epic story, right down to the soundtrack, this game blew my mind. The cut scenes in this game exhibit graphical capabiliti es that I didn't even know the PSP had (seriously look better than many next-gen cut scenes). The battles were top notch, especially the boss/major battles throughout. I remember being pissed at one point in the game, but that was because of my own stupidity- not the game's. I honestly couldn't find one thing that I would change about this game, and if anyone here has a PSP, I HIGHLY recommend this being a first buy for ANYONE. As much as I love God of War: Chains of Olympus, it doesn't hold a candle to Crisis Core. From beginning to end, it leaves you hungering for more with every twist and turn.
Being that this is my first Final Fantasy game, can anyone recommend another game that is very much like Crisis Core in terms of gameplay, length, etc (within the FF series or otherwise)? This game felt like a perfect fit for me, but from what I understand it stands apart from the rest of the series as far as Gameplay is concerned.
I am now a Square Enix fan. Go figure

Left 4 Dead: 9.5/10
This is the first Xbox 360 game I have played in probably 3-4 months now, the last being Fable 2. This is by far my favorite Xbox 360 game and the most fun I have had playing a video game in some time now. Its fun, has a little scary side going along with it, non stop zombie action. Its as great single player game, have not spent much time online, my live time expired, but what I have played it excellent. I have always liked Valves games, Counter Strike was one of my favorite online games years ago, this reminds me alot of CS but with zombies. Fun levels, characters, not much of a story but honestly its not needed in this one. |

I didn't like Crisis Core that much.. the store/graphics/sound was OK... thought it felt 6/10'ish in the gameplay department though. |

Far Cry 2-8.5/10- It's gorgeous(although it needs more color) and it plays really well. Wasnt expecting this to be a marriage of GTA and Mercenaries, but it works pretty well so far.

The way the save system works and the abundance of enemies got super annoying in Far Cry 2. |

My roommate hated FC2. All the areas and quests looked the same, and it seemed like a chore at times for little reward in terms of story. The flamethrower looked really awesome though. Oh well, I loved FC so regardless of how it looks I'll have to play it once day.
Playing through Dead Space today, on Chapter 11 right now. Game fudging owns.

Meh, it's Africa, not much to do about that. Although that does remind me, I'm very dissapointed in the amount of wildlife so far. Africa has some of the worlds funkiest animals and I want to see them. Ive only seen water buffalo? and some birds so far. I was sad when I accidently hit and killed a water buffalo
The plants are absolutely amazing though, especially in a fire fight. Branches fallen everywhere 'n crap. Fun stuff.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted - 7.5/10
I played the PSP version a couple years ago and really liked it. I really like this one as well but the AI can be wonky at times. At points they brake in the middle of the road for no reason. They are for the most part on a predetermined path so if you get in their way they act like a wall and won't move no matter how far you push. Also, the rubber band effect is very present.

Oh, it'll pick up the frustration if you haven't gotten to blacklist 3 and 2. Having to break two dozen spike traps will eat your soul. |

Yeah I just beat number 7 last night. I actually haven't had to buy a car yet because I keep getting pink slips lol. The couple speed traps so far are easily avoided. My problem, like with the roadblocks, is sometimes it takes a while for them to set them up.

God I wonder if you jinx me. I cannot get the past these fudging cops. I need hit 22 cops, 4 spike scrips, 10 roadblocks, or 7 min. chase and I either get away right away or get caught after getting them on like a barrel or something I should normally blow through.

Drop this to a 5/10. The game has gotten fudging ridiculously annoying. All I want to do is beat the next "boss" but I have to break $350,000 worth of property before I can do that. WHAT THE FUDGE!

Yeah that is why I stopped playing Most Wanted on 360, although I beat it on PS2 a long time ago. The bounty markers are really annoying. You spent more time trying to wreck cop cars than you do actually racing. I've been playing Undercover and its not as bad but the game is also annoying because it has a wheelmen level that increases as you win/dominate races and the game goes from being way too easy for the first 3/4 of the game to being pretty hard at the end. Wish I was playing Grid or something =\ |

Lost Odyssey - 6/10 - The visuals and the music are pretty cool, but the game itself is seemingly pretty dull. I want to get into it and play through it, but it's getting to be pretty hard. The only character I've liked so far is Jansen, who provides the comic relief in the game.

I'm not even going to bother with Undercover. I found switching from the Lamborghini I was using back to the Mazda actually help in the Milestone ones. I try to do all Speedtraps which also helps. I was playing GRID just before this game and its hands down one of the best racers ever. Love that game.
DefaultGen - You have to select the new difficulty at the very beginning of the next game and save right away otherwise you can't switch without going back through the game on a harder difficulty.

I really enjoyed this game for the most part. But towards the end there were some absurd requirements to get past. I sought out Gamefaqs and used the covered awning cheat to let the timer run up and let me pass those markers. You just gotta get to this one spot and hang out while the cops go nuts below you. Then when you reach the milestone you just backup under an awning and end the goal. I don't see how a human being could possibly beat this game otherwise. |
