Enchanted Arms - 7/0 ...love it so far, just gotta get past the first 2 hours, just about everything in this game save for the characters is fairly original
Cabela's Trophy Bucks - 3/10 ....playing for achievements and I got it for $4 at a pawn, the game is horrible, you can't walk over logs for Christ's sake |

Fallout 3 - 6.5/10 - I've only played 2 or so hours, so obviously there's more to the game, forgive the seemingly low score? I don't like non VATS combat, is it stat based or twitch based? If I pump up my small arms skill will be weapons stop spraying wildly all over the screen, or just do more damage? Not a fan of the ultra-fast degradation or radiation but I suppose they add challenge to the game. The Wasteland is... a wasteland. It's accurate to the theme, but that doesn't make it terrible interesting... just like Desert Bus is accurate to what it tries to accomplish. The world just doesn't seem as rich and homey as Vvardenfell does. I don't really know what I expected, but since Morrowind, Bethesda hasn't given me that "man I want to live in this world and be the biggest badass there is" feeling. From the few quests I've completed in Megaton and a couple story quests I just feel like I'm going to beat the story, dabble around in the world a bit questing, stop and never go back to it. I can ALWAYS go back to Morrowind. There's always things to do and user created content that refreshes the gameplay experience. As the games go on, Bethesda's engines seem to be getting better, but their worlds just seem less interesting, however themed they may be! After all, Vvardenfell is mostly desert wasteland!
Are there lasting consequences to bad karma? Before I blew up Megaton, I killed nearly everyone in town and looted everything, getting bad karma for every gosh darn item I took! I was happy to see people don't run away from me or anything like that, but if I keep doing it does it fudge up my interactions with NPCs across the world?
Oh and for the record, I'm almost pretending it's not even a Fallout game. I came in thinking "Oblivion with guns" not "Redefined Fallout experience."

Maybe that's your problem. Because it's closer to Fallout than Oblivion except for the graphics and 3D-ness. All of the game play elements are very Falloutish.

It doesn't seem Fallout-y except for the theme because... Fallout's a third person CRPG with turn based battles. Strip away the world, and it's just an Oblivion engine game with VATS.
vDub: I imagine millions of people played 3 but not the other games (I didn't even play Fallout 1, yet 2 was very enjoyable). The game takes place a good deal of time after Fallout 2 and the stories probably aren't directly related.

I'm sure Bethesda made the game with those in mind who haven't played the first two, Dublet.
You'll be fine.

No, you really don't have to play the first two games at all.
Trust me. You will not be confused by anything.
There might be some inside related things that connect them, but, imo, Fallout 3 is essentially a standalone game set within a similar theme as the original Fallout games. |

Wouldn't the opposite of a 6.5 be a 3.5?

Smackdown vs Raw 09-
I liked it a lot better than 08, road to wrestlemania/career modes are a lot better, more dialogue, not the same lame ass cut scenes every time. Good selection of wrestlers but you have to unlock some of them which was strange.
Left 4 Dead-
I just played a couple of the single-player campaigns and they were really short, like and hour and 30 minutes short, but there were four campaigns to choose from so whatever. I just wish the zombies weren't just standing around in the same spots all the time and it kinda reminded me of COD WaW's Zombie mode when you heal yourself especially. If it had the COD controls it would be great for me. But it's pretty cool, like watching a movie. |

I'm sorry I disagree with the popular opinion
Not having much fun with Fallout 3, played a couple more hours today. Just makes me disappointed and wanting to play Morrowind for a much better Bethesda game Pro vs. Con wise it reminds me of Hellgate London. It does a lot of interesting things correctly, but it's bogged down by flaws that seriously dampen my enjoyment of the game.
This game either has a killer midsection/ending or I'm just not seeing why people enjoy it.

Fallout 3 (360) - Bloody wonderful, from the fun, involving quests to the great characters, from the atmospheric wasteland to Three Dog howling at the night, packed with humor, role playing, interesting character building, nasty VATs fun and more, I've been glued to the tele for the last few nights. Bravo to Bethesda, brilliant game, despite the very few flaws .

The midsection is great. The ending is pretty anticlimactic.
Walking the barren wasteland takes a toll on you, but once you find enough landmarks, fast travelling helps the game's pacing. If you don't like the action outside of the vats (I wasn't a huge fan of it myself) though, it will be hard to plod through regardless of how you get around.

Assassin's Creed - 7/10 - Better than I expected, this game got a lot of hate, didn't it? It's pretty fun, I just wish there was more to do. The missions are all pretty similar, the only fun ones being where you get to kill someone.

but srsly, an 8 is a good score. When j_factor scores a non-Sega game an 8/10 it means a regular person would probably score it a 12/10.

I've given plenty of Sega games 8/10 (or less) and plenty of non-Sega games higher scores in this thread.
Not sure what the big deal is. It's a good game, so it gets an 8.
