Resident Evil 5 - I was telling shaggy I was going to get rid of it, but after the 2nd play through, I decided to keep it for a while. Maybe forever to be honest. I never got rid of the GC RE4, and I got it day 1 of the release. I don't like getting rid of RE games. I just don't.
Anyway,
RE5 - 9.5
Waaayyyy too short for me. |

A bit, but it's story was so enthralling it didn't even matter, I loved it and will be reserving the sequel.
I also have beat RE5 like 3 times recently.

AC,
Its beatable because the story can keep it interesting...completing all the missions, 100%, is another thing (oh-so repetitive!). |

| | #46 posted April 21, 2009 at 4:13pm (EST) |
I disagree, it was rarely repetitive, I got probably 95% of all stuff done.

Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice (PS3) - 8/10
Awesome continuation of the series. Fleshed out the Netherworld much better than Disgaea 2 did. The story was still hardly up to par with Disgaea: HoD, but is still pretty good. The whole game kind of gives you the feeling of "Thank god just about everything is better than Disgaea 2, but nothing's as good as Disgaea". The music and voice acting are strong as always and there are some fun gameplay tweaks. Geo-blocks work out much better than geo-symbols, however the "puzzles" in this game are much easier than the other two games. In fact the whole game is REALLY easy. I never needed to grind my characters up once, I just flew through the whole game, barely even needing to replay battles. The humor and charm of Disgaea are all there and there's tons of motivation for me to continue playing the game. Can't wait for Nippon Ichi's next game but D3 will keep me entertained until then :)
Donkey Kong Country (SNES) - 8/10
Yeah I'm late to the party, wanna fight about it? I'd played maybe half the game when I was a kid at friends houses and such but never beaten it. This game was awesome, especially the graphics and music. The only really weak part about it was the bosses (minus K. Rool) which were nearly worthless. It doesn't do anything to revolutionize the platformer but it's got good, varied level design, a whole bunch of secrets, and it can be quite challenging.

Its never 'too' late to try out an amazing side-scroller!
I recently beat Zelda II: Links adventure and enjoyed it like it was a current gen game (if not better) hehe. |

I beat Peggle on the DS today. I'm not sure why but I enjoyed the demo on the PC more. Maybe I was just over it. It was still pretty fun though. |

God I still play the crap out of Peggle, but mainly when I'm working the front desk. I just have the 750,000 points on any stage challenge to go.

I found out there is a Popcap Arcade vol. 2 out now with Peggle, Feeding Frenzy 2 (yawn) and some military game that supposedly rips off Metal Slug. I want to get it but Game Stop didn't distribute it and that is about the only store I have credit at. Might trade in another Rock Revolution from Best Buy and use the credit to see if they'll special order it for me. |

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on Veteran. Attempted the epilogue for the Mile High Achievement a couple times but I'll try again tomorrow. I think I have my strategy down so we'll see.

The Epilogue on Veteran is insane, I bet itll take you around 30-50 tries to complete it :) |

Flock - 6.5/10 - I liked the ideas here but the controls are pretty horrible to get used to. The graphics and art direction are good and despite how frustrating this game was, it was a lot of fun. Driving your flock around without them constantly suiciding over the edge of the level is damned difficult, which is probably why only a handful of people on the leaderboard have the gold trophy for 100%ing the game. And it's not just that I suck at the game, you'll lay a bridge down over a gap, try to drive your flock over it... one third will jump off the gap to the left of the bridge, one third will jump off to the right, and the remainder will push the bridge into the gap and run with it.
This game must've had pretty bad sales so far. I just beat it, didn't bother improving my level times yet and I'm already #170 or so on the global leaderboards? The only other game where I remember getting high on the leaderboards with bad scores was Gripshift on Xbox, which I know no one played

I swear to God that took less than 20 attempts. Just finished it and got the head shot first try. The biggest problem I had was getting stuck on furniture. The tops of the analog sticks on my 360 controller are worn to nothing (it was used when I got it) so I got some new ones that go over it and they have huge bumps around the circle. Its taking me quite a while to get used to them.

World at War was actually really easy on veteran except for the last 2 levels and a few parts before then. |

I heard it was easier than cod 4, except for the ten thousand megaton grenades constantly going off.
And the headshot is easy. If you jump, time slows down and you can get right in the terrorist's face. |
HaloGX

| | #70 posted April 29, 2009 at 8:17pm (EST) |
Ah didn't jump, didn't think about it. Any CoD game is more of a cakewalk on Veteran after CoD2 in my opinion. But yeah, I'm getting really sick and tired of the amount of grenades that are always lobbed. Its ridiculous sometimes.

Just finished Escape From Butcher Bay. Such an amazing game, I'm looking forward to starting the Dark Athena Campaign now. I doubt it will be as awesome, but it should still be good.
Damn though, Butcher Bay is seriously like a really badass game, very under appreciated. |

Is Butcher Bay included on the disc with the new game, or did you already have it? Great game.

Butcher Bay is on the disc with all redone new graphics and stuff, and includes a new mech sequence that was previously only in the PC version.
In essence, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is kind of like the Orange Box, although not quite as much bang for your buck, and not quite as quality. |
