Miner Dig Deep (XNA) - 7/10 - This game is beyond crack. I have Uncharted 2, Brutal Legend, and Borderlands sitting here waiting to be played but I wanted to play a game for a couple minutes last night. I bought this for $1 and played it for ~5 hours straight. Most addicting thing I've played this year
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves from beginning to end on Hard difficulty. No idea how many hours this took. I spent some extra time just exploring areas, searching for treasure, etc., so this was no speed run by any means. I'm already half way through the game on Crushing difficulty.
This game really is amazing, but strange enough I found more general enjoyment while playing the first game. I played Drake's Fortune 4 times in a row simply because I couldn't get enough of it. I was driven. I was addicted. This time around I'm definitely enjoying the game, but it hasn't truly "hooked" me. I really have no idea why, but that's how things worked out for me.
I totally agree with the general opinion on how fantastic this game is, so anyone who hasn't played it really is missing out if they skip it entirely.
11/1 - Uncharted 2 (PS3) (time=13.22 Hard) I don't need to describe to anyone how great this game is....there have already been enough people that beat it and are now bragging it up.

1/10 - Fallout 3 (PS3) (time = 69:40'02'')
11/4 - Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story (DS) (time = 25 hours) Great game, and one of the better to hit the DS in recent months. I will still stick by Partners in Time as the best in the series though. But this one is a great second place.

to me, there aren't really any games on the PS3 that justify the need to have one. After Uncharted 1 & 2, what else is there? I'm not a big movie aficionado, so the Blu-Ray player isn't all that appealing to me.
Uncharted, Metal Gear, Valkyria Chronicles, Infamous, LittleBigPlanet, Demon's Souls, Rachet and Clank, Heavenly Sword, God of War, the Siren remake, Warhawk, MAG, Wipeout HD, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Sigma 2, Motorstorm, Gran Turismo, Disgaea 3, a bunch of exclusive PSN games.
For $200-300 or whatever the price is now, it's worth it for the Uncharted games and MGS alone. Most people I know with PS3s spent the $400-500 for MGS4 alone (and I'm one of them).
Dead Rising wasn't that good. I don't know why I made myself keep playing through it. It is running on the Resident Evil 4 engine, and the controls were good, but I thought I remembered RE4 looking a lot better than this does (I haven't played RE4 since 2005 so I guess it probably does look really outdated by now). I think you get roughly 20 zombies on-screen at once but they're always just popping up out of nowhere (literally). If you're aiming the gun at one and back up too far then the zombie will just vanish. One other thing that kinda sucked was that you can change the character's clothes (I had him wearing a devil mask and an evening gown from one of the womens clothing stores in the mall) but in the FMVs he'd always just be wearing his default outfit.
I've never played it on Xbox360, I tried to avoid that one since everyone said the save system in it sucks. But I guess I'll have to rent it so I can play the "real" version before the sequel comes out.

I just sat down and beat Uncharted again on hard. Even after playing through all of Uncharted 2 today and playing Uncharted less than 2 weeks ago that game is still amazing.
These games are hard to put down. I can't believe I was so late to the party. Why didn't you guys tell me about it? I figured all the people going "Uncharted is the bezt gaem evar!!1" were the same kind of people who hype up games like Halo 2
Default, if we always had to make all your decisions for you and/or tell you what to do, we would all have to quit our full time jobs/schooling. Granted you'd be better off.

For a game that cost $60 million to make, Gran Turismo better be fudging good.
Childish puzzles, combat is worse than Silent Hill. If you're a fan of the movies you'll enjoy it more because its very similar and has a fair amount of back story but I just couldn't get over the horrific combat and rehashed puzzles.

Just finished Bonk 1 & 2 (for the millionth time) on my Wii.
Bonk's Adventure - 8.5/10
TG16 gets its mascot (sorry, Keith Courage), and he kicks ass...with his head...yeah. The basic idea to this side scroller is you viciously murder anyone standing in your way with a simple swing of your head in order to save Princess Za and the moon because some jerkoff named Evil King Drool (who looks suspiciously like Wart from Super Mario Bros. 2) ripped it in half, I think. Jumping and pressing the attack button allows you to dive head-first onto enemies, which is stronger than a regular headbutt and just feels great.
The game can be beaten in around an hour, and a good portion of its length is due to a bit of padding at the end. Here you are forced to fight every boss again, all in a row. It doesn't really cheapen the game, but it does feel tacked on.
Environments could stand to be a little more varied. One in particular (4-1 I think) is just a rehash of the first zone, only with a more panicked feel.
Definitely worth trying out though, even today. I feel its gameplay still stands up, and might even be innovative for some people with its headbutt mechanic. Stick around for the credits, as the names of the enemies are revealed and they are just fudging ridiculous.
Bonk's Revenge - 9/10
Bonk finally gets his revenge in this TG16 sequel to Bonk's Adventure. Revenge for what? Dunno.
The 2nd game in the Bonk series is easily the best, even though I say that having never beaten Bonk 3 (and likely never will). The controls feel different this time. I don't want to say they're tighter, as I prefer the feel of Bonk's Adventure more to Revenge, but he's far less floaty. Jumps take some getting used to, especially if you've just finished Adventure as you need to acclimatize quickly to the new controls. The art design is far more cartoony, but I find it suits Bonk and his universe more than the first game. I especially like the sprite of Bonk descending from a jump--it looks like he's just having so much gosh darn fun (edit: I just changed my avatar to said sprite). A lot of the game ditches the prehistoric theme entirely (with one level in particular sporting lamps in the building windows), but it's a refreshing change.
Boss fights are innovative as always, and of course, you have to beat them twice just like in the first game. This time though, when they're defeated a second time, you're not saving them from some mind control device or whatever was going on in the first game. They fudging DIE. I've always found the explosion sounds as they're rapidly blinking to death to be very satisfying.
My big complaint with this game is that, if you're really good, you don't get to play the whole game. Throughout the game you collect the same white smiley face things from the first game, although this time they determine what bonus stage you get to play at the end of each round. Getting 0-49 is fine as the stage gives you power ups and I believe a 1up, but getting 50 or more gives you an empty heart, 1up AND a warp. The problem is that it's automatic; you have to take the warp, which skips over the next round. Now, I'm not 100% sure on this, but I'm pretty sure the bonus stage before 50 smileys doesn't give you an empty heart, so if you're looking to really beef up Bonk's health, you're missing out on several rounds because of it. Again, I could be wrong. I play every single mini game I can throughout the game though, so I always end up with around 60 smileys at the end of each stage. Obviously I could just avoid the mini games, but they're fun. However, they're also quite plentiful so if you choose to play them, it feels like half the game is a series of mini games.
A lesser complaint but worth noting is how easy Evil King Drool is this time around. It's harder to actually get hit during this fight than it is not to.
Overall, I hold these games very close to my heart. Ever since I got rid of my TG16 (around the start of my GameTZ career--check my earlier trades here to see an exchange which brings a tear to my eye to this day), I've always satisfied my Bonk cravings through shoddy emulation. With the Wii, I can finally play these classics they way they were intended: in front of a big screen tv, sprawled out on a crapty couch whose springs are really starting to go lately, and should probably just be tossed out onto the street to see if someone will pick it up for free.
Now bring on Brink of Extinction...only, ditch the 3D graphics and start over in 2D, dammit.
That's Bonk 3. I didn't even know it existed until a few years ago. I tried it out and really didn't care for it. They changed the control again, and it just feels awful. Plus the music was really getting on my nerves.
Mass Effect Galaxy (iPhone) - 3/10 - If ever a game was destroyed by framerate it's this one. Runs at single digit FPS, and frequently drops to 1-2 fps. Often the audio will drop out for 4-5 seconds since it just can't keep up. Also has control problems but it doesn't even matter with the framerate issue. The whole game is just slaving through the gameplay to get to the dialogue. Dialogue trees are decent, and have plenty of options and the game's art style is pretty good. There's even a few nice cartoony cut scenes. If a little more development were put into this game, it might have been great.
If you care about the links to ME2:
Jacob Taylor is a former Alliance soldier who foils a Batarian plot to take over the citadel. The Batarian ambassador, Jath'Amon, was going to use a biological weapon to kill the council but Jacob and Miranda find out about the plot and stop him. Jath'Amon swears he will kill Jacob while being escorted away by C-Sec. In the end there is an implied romance between Jacob and Miranda.
Just beat Batman Arkham Asylum, last night. Highly enjoyable and well done game. They're definately starting to get better with these super hero games. 9/10

Fallout 3
Point Lookout & Mothership Zeta today, just have Brotherhood of Steel left and hoping I can finish everything up before I get MW2. They were both pretty good, Point Lookout was probably the best DLC I've played so far but running around corridors and shooting aliens with their own guns was satisfying as well but a bit boring. Still better than Op Anc. but a general let down as I was hoping the alien theme would be a little be more entertaining and varied. You basically had no contact with the aliens at all, and the samurai guy was completely pointless and did nothing to add to the game at all.
11/11 - Metroid Zero Mission (GBA) (time = 5:42'07'' 68%) In all my years of gaming this is only the 2nd Metroid game I have ever finished (next to Return of Samus just last year) and I keep asking myself why it took me this long to get around to playing this addictive series!

Zero Mission is great. At first I wasn't fond of the controls because I was so used to Super Metroid, but in many ways they are superior.
That said, go give Super Metroid a go. My #1 game of all time.
