Siren Blood Curse - 8/10
The best survival horror game in years. Insane story, strong stealth elements, wide variety of weapons, balanced combat, and an interesting "sight jack" mechanic that lets you see what enemies see to learn their movement patterns. There's a huge amount of collectibles to encourage replay and exploration (all of which expand the story). The graphics are very good, the controls are solid (as solid as they're "allowed" to be for a survival horror game). It has flaws such as some very difficult, unforgiving areas, outrageous amounts of memorization of some enemy paths, and a fairly weak ending but they're so easy to overlook since a game of this quality hasn't hit the genre since perhaps the PSX generation.
Pokemon Pearl - 8/10 (34 hours, 145 Pokedex)
There's a whole bunch of improvements to the game, and honestly if you're going to play a Pokemon game, you'd probably play this one. There's improvements to just about every aspect from berry farming (fertilizer and such) to endgame content. It's definitely hurting for something different. As much as they improve the game, the core gameplay hasn't changed in a decade and it's really wearing down.

4/30 - Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars (DS)
Just as well rounded as the rest of the games in the series. story missions, side quests, cop chases, and now....selling drugs! This game did a fantastic job of using the touch screen as well. Was not expecting such a fulfilling GTA experince from a handheld version, but this definitely got the job done!

I got my first of 8 endings in Disgaea tonight - the Flonne Ending. I put the game back in my rotation of random selection so the constant grinding doesn't drive me to throwing the disc against my wall.
Other than that constant level grinding though, I rather liked it.
Please tell me you don't do anywhere near that much in Phantom Brave, La Pucelle, or Rhapsody...

Well, yeah. I played the game for 34 hours which is well beyond what would be sufficient to simply plow through the game, I just didn't have motivation to capture 251 pokemon again and another 200 new ones on top of it. I said it was 8/10 though, what's wrong with that?

Nothing. Did you see all of the pokemon. I think there is some kind of bonus for having seen them all. I haven't played in while so I could be wrong.

Prince of Persia (PS3) - omg this game is amazing! From start to finish its a great experience. Replayablility is so-so...because most of the trophies can be unlocked in the first playthrough. I have to say its definitely inspired by ICO and/or Shadow of the Colossus. |
