Checking on my sealed copy allowed me to rediscover its the dvd edition (the one I got today was cd), which are going for $80 on amazon right now.

Yay!

Now I just hope the slightly peeled pieces of back boxart ren't going to affect the selling of it.

legend basically go to cheapassgamer and look for a thread called reduced price guides thread x or whatever in video game deals.
it posts all stores guide penny dates etc..
gamestop just did theirs on the 17th so most are gone now. but when you see the date posted go that day and you can usually snag a few before they shred the guides.
the catch is 90% of gamestops will decline you at the register but some you will get lucky if your only taking a few.

just dont be greedy and you should be fine.
the one i went into had 5 star ocean second evo guides i just basically politely asked what they were doing with them.
guy at register said they were being trashed and i asked if i could take one as i was looking for one.
he said sure and i walked out happy with a read copy of star ocean.

I hit up the local Salvation Army:

All are complete; discs in great condition and one has a ruffled cover art insert:

Wave Race: Blue Storm (GC) - $3
Doom 3: Limited Edition (Xbox) - $5
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 2 (GC) - $3

The cashier flipped off a pricing clerk as I paid, as all games are now $5. I guess they only stickered Doom 3 as such...lame.

Passed on Tony Hawk 3 (GC) for $3.

Another independent thrift store merged its electronics section with the smelly clothes area without supervision, so people steal from electronics very frequently now and anything video-game related is now a very rare occurrence. (I previously got a sealed Kirby: Canvas Curse for $3 at this store, among other deals.)

You could have bought a few decent games instead of a bunch of crap like outdated NBA & NFL games, and Mojo? Why the crap did you buy Mojo? I got that for free a few years ago and felt ripped off.

I heard the first Singstar PS3 bundle trades in for like $35 at Blockbuster, but I think the newer one is less. FYI Blockbuster is doing buy 1 get 1 free on used game $14.99 or less starting on 6/30 (Tuesday I think).

I'm in Huntington Indiana right now, went to an indie game store called collectors box and on the door was an eBay powerseller sticker so I didn't expect to find anything, but found network adapter for 25, na with disc were 50 though so they must think it's useless without it.

Yeah, that's the point. When i cash in store credit for DS systems, its to bundle with spare games I have that aren't selling fast enough. But I don't amass a giant DS collection and them piece it out every 4 months (along with the system) just to have to do the same process over again. Not to mention you reacquire the same games you didn't get around to playing the first 5 times you had them. Plus, when I do it, I profit, you don't. Plus I've never been without a DS (even though it took me forever to get my first one). Plus, I don't trade Ds games on goozex, I acquire them for overpriced 360 and PS3 bullcrap. Plus, Etrian odyssey SUCKS.

Everything works though the model 1 Sega CD sometimes takes 2 or 3 tries with the power switch to turn on, not a big deal. The auction actually listed the model 1 Sega CD as a "maybe not working" item because the seller didn't know how to turn it on. When I got it I heard something rattling inside and didn't turn on, so I felt ripped off. Then tried it again and it powered up and loaded a football game. I eject the tray and found a College Football disc.

Also for some reason, the Street Fighter games will not work on the model 2 Genesis + either 32x, but work fine on the model 1 Genesis + either 32x. They also work on the model 2 Genesis without a 32x.

I'm enjoying MK1 and Virtua Fighter. I'm also bidding on CIB Fatal Fury Special and Samurai Shodown for the Sega CD.
