Got a broken PS3 today for $10. 40 gig. Dual Shock 3 has a bad connection port on it, so I can't sync it. It's probably junk. Unit does not read discs of any kind. I don't even think it's spinning the CDs. The motor makes no noise when I insert a disc.
But crap, for $10, I wasn't going to say no. Came with HD cables and all.

plus frank wont sony fix that for like 80-100$ id say even after paying that to sony you could easily sell it in your store for profit.

I wanted it for my store. Guy brought it in, told me his controller was broken. He got it as payment for rent (he was a landlord), and since the controller was broken he couldnt hook it up to test it. I had a spare controller, hooked it up, and it wouldnt read games. Was going to give him $100 until we found out it didnt work, and he said "if you dont give me something for it, I'm going to just throw it away because it's useless to me". So, I gave him $10. I hope I can get it fixed so I have a display unit for the shop.
He then went home to evict his cousin.
I'd consider selling the broken PS3 depending on the shipped offer, though I think I'm going to look into having it repaired.

yah seriously frank i dont think it even has to be under warranty. i think if its under warranty sony will fix it cheaper. but yah id def call them.
thats a sweet deal and even if the controller cant be fixed who cares the system is well worth it. nice find indeed.
as far as the connection port on the controller is it just bent or something. you can use clamps to bend it out and force enter the cord.

Connection port has a short in it gauu. It's not bent, controller looks mint, just doesn't recognize to the PS3.

If I fill the last 2 spots on the waiting list, I can help you out no problem.
I just need to see a couple more 360's before I actually get one for sale. When I manage this, I'll make sure to help you out. Cost + Shipping + maybe you give me some dumb game for middle-manning it.
Or I'll get one and trade you for the sealed Dracula X that I'm praying you still have.

His sealed Dracula X has a tear in the plastic, but I'd trade a 360 for it in a heartbeat.
Would hope to get a newer one with a 60 gig hard drive to haggle with.
EDIT: I'd also tell everyone else on the list to bite me if I would be able to work a trade for it. Dracula X > customer satisfaction

Waiting list for what, a 360? Because I was hoping to get one within my budget.

Picked up a copy of ICO at Gamestop for $30. Case and manual are mint but the disc is kinda messy. Hopefully Frank can resurface it back to near mint. Beats paying $50-60 for one on eBay. |

Yeah, there's a bunch of people waiting for 360's in the shop. And Wii's. I need to get more of those too.

This is probably true, I know that's how Nintendo repairs work. When I called about repairing a DS Lite, no warranty was like $25 more than if it was under warranty.

Sorry for late responses, I was at a friend's house and very busy with some other stuff.
Went to the house and it is crazy, the insurance company already ripped out the flooring, and the bottom of the walls. It looks like what is was when being built (one of those new developments so I got to watch it be built)
My game collection seems to be ok from looking at it in storage, except for a box of completely water damaged old PC games that were in the garage on the floor (not worth anything and I don't have a floppy drive anymore), and though I can't find them in storage, my DDR games and mat which were on the garage floor (played it out there because it shakes the house when you play upstairs), luckily I brought my PS2 inside to play Shadow Hearts the day before we left, and the TV in there was fine because its on a shelf. And the bottom of my box of stock was soaking wet, but luckily all that was on the bottom is like 15 copies of naruto clash of ninja revolution 2 and a few other sear's clearance games that are luckily sealed and will probably be fine once they dry off. If not I can still sell them as disc only and make a few bucks. The 360 was damp, but it worked once I blow dried it off. The 360 games cases are all soaked and ruined, but the discs still work. Couldn't find my anime collection in the storage, but I'm worried about that.

and for finds today:
this cardcaptor sakura dreamcast limited edition game. It came with the game in a big box with a wall scroll, a plate, a spoon and fork, and a clock. All the stuff was sealed except the game itself, which was mint.
I tried to play it on my DC with utopia boot disc, does this not work for japanese games or something? I've only used it for burned games before. the cardcaptor sakura logo popped up on the screen with the floating moose but after that nothing happened.
it was $20 at bookmans

Been some time since I dealt with that stuff, but I think the utopia disc should work.......might be the version you're using is not the right one, but I seem to remember using a utopia for japanese games.

It works on my PAL import of Shenmue 2, though I haven't tried it on my Japanese import of Pen Pen TriIcelon yet - maybe the utopia disc is a little scratched?

hopefully I can get this to work.
OT, cleaning N64 games is a pain in the ass. Just listed the lot I got at a yard sale and 7 of them sold yesterday on ebay, so I had to clean all. Worth it though because I've made $74 so far not including the extra bit made from shipping (costs $1.91, I charge $3.99) and I still have 18 games and a system left. cost $25 for the lot.
