Famitsu gave it a perfect score. They don't do that too often. I think there's still time to pre-order since the game has a week to go before it comes out. Amazon still has the pre-order bonus listed.

any B and M have the pre order? and do you get it up front or when the game comes out? I saw a video of the nes game and it looks kinda hard and reminded me sort of Zelda 2 NES

Just picked up Tetris Axis at Walmart. It had a "rollback" price of $20, so I jumped on it. I was going to pick up RE: Revelations, but it wasn't in stock.

It was more like Metroid. It came out around the exact same time, so it got a bit overshadowed by Metroid. It's a good game, but it is very hard, and the music can be really annoying.

I'm tempted to get one, but I only have about 1000 coins left and I'll probably never use it.I'm saving my coins for games and another game case. I like my Casio QV Digital case, it fits the 3DS better than it fit the camera and I like being able to rip open the velcro flap and just slide the 3DS out.

I took my 3DS and my Vita with me on vacation. I played my Vita exclusively. I really didn't do a lot of portable gaming but when I did have time, I chose Vita. Maybe because its new. Maybe because it has a nicer screen. Who knows.

Imo the vita is over rated. Sorry vita fans. The games and demos just feel flat. I'd rather play metal gear 3d than anything on vita.

I think the Vita is great, and so is the 3DS. I just don't like how nintendo handles their accessories. I was not a fan of that damn pro pad add on.

Yeah I agree. Although, I don't mind the circle pad one bit. How awesome would it be to have it built in. Never really enjoyed handheld before the 3ds. Don't get me wrong the vita is sexy, beyond that... It's just more of the same from Sony.

The controls are going to suck for me. I'm a lefty, so either way it's going to be awkward. I'll probably be better off using the stylus with my right hand, than using a control pad pro, but I'll try both. Pretty stupid to not add dual analog.

I think you would be handicapping yourself with dual analog. You need pinpoint precision and swift movements that dual analog does not offer.

From what I've read, the only lefty configuration is with the control pad pro, using the right circle pad to move. I suspect just learning to use the stylus with my right hand would be easier. I'm semi ambidextrous, so it probably won't be too hard to train myself to aim with my right hand. There's just something about using my right hand to move that I've always hated, been that way since my arcade junkie days.

It is for Nintendogs + Cats. I gave the stationery out to the people on my friends list in case they didn't get it.

Exactly how do you do that? I'd like to give my daughter some of my stationary I've gotten so she doesn't have to get it... oh wait... we're still waiting on her to have the option of getting more stationary... lol... 3DS Hidden, The: An Augmented Reality Ghost Hunting Adventure1 Majesco (this is seriously like Ghost Busters in 3D!) I'm tempted to look into that Spirit Camera, I hope it's not like this game!! Although this one does project ghosts into the backgrounds...

3DS Mahjong CUB3D 1 Atlus (again, no stylus support??)

3DS Mind Gym 3D Puzzler 1 Ubisoft (this one will make you think!)

I also have 3DS Gem Smashers 1 Red Wagon Games in my collection I'm not sure if I'm keeping or not...

What makes it a special stationary? Yeah, I kinda figured the ones bought with play coins wouldn't transfer... Not that it's a big deal... they don't take much... I'm just using my coins on the Find Mii II right now... lol

I thought pre-order prices were guaranteed if they came out at a lower price you get refunded the difference... I know Amazon has this..

Yeah, pretty much. My guess is, because Best Buy didn't have the 3D Classics version for a preorder bonus, this is their way of getting people to buy the game from them and not Amazon or Gamestop. Though if that is indeed the case, they should've said something before so many people preordered it somewhere else.

A note from Nintendo that includes it or if someone on your friends list already has it, they can send you a note using the stationary and you'll have it after reading the note.

Yes, but where did they get it from?? lol Are you telling me it's like a virus and spreads from unit to unit infecting anyone it touches?? laugh...

I'm assuming that any note sent from Nintendo would all have the same stationary and be sent out to all users, not just a couple...

As far as I know, Nintendo makes them and sends them out to everyone. If you didn't get it, maybe they don't like you.

I just got an email from Amazon saying they would be refunding $10 of my Kid Icarus purchase price as part of their pre-order price match guarantee. I didn't send them anything, so anyone that ordered from Amazon should be getting the refund as well. Pretty nice!

Yeah, probably!! lol

Any stationary I've managed to save has not been the stationary you buy with coins... and I think I just got one from a message from Nikki or some such... not that it's a big deal... I don't particularly like most of the stationary anyway!! :)

Oh btw the 3 3DS games I had are pending!! Woot... although I don't know if that's a good thing or not... out of 5 3DS games I had, I only have 2 that I like! And one of those is questionable right now... (Gem Smasher) :( I seriously would like more puzzle games for the 3DS, I'm not a platform gamer or an RPG fan!!

Oh well, I have 15 E-shop games I've bought... I really like A Fairy Tale, and Box Pusher (this one reminds me of a Key-Soft game from Europe that I had for the Atari 130 XE computer!! ) Oh yes, and Primrose... also like the hidden objects ones... finished up Jack the Ripper, working on Chronicles of Vampires Origins... Tetris, Sudoku, Minesweeper... Art Academy...

Have you tried Pushmo? I just started playing it a couple days ago and it's totally worth the $7 or whatever. Pretty simple game, but definately fun and has a ton of levels. Plus there's another ton of user created levels you can get through QR codes too.

I'm not really sure. I would assume all the copies have it, though. The only things I knew about the game were what I've read here and seen in the commercial. Buying it for $30 would've been nice, but my friend owed me some money, so he covered some of the purchase though haha.

Did any of you get those free cards from Club Nintendo yet? I forgot about them but just realized I didn't get them yet but they were shipped 10 days ago. Usually when they ship an order I get it in 3 or 4 days. I'm not even 100% sure what the AR cards are used for in this game...

Yeah, gamestop is taking "pre-orders" on them, supposed to get them in April, possibly the 13th. Extremely annoying, but typical Nintendo limited stock. If you try online, you're going to be paying upwards of $40... :/

Kid Icarus is great...no need for circle pad.

Resident Evil also plays fine without it (also good game).

and I beat MGS3 with basic controls....Circle Pad is prob needed most on this game, but after a while you get use to it.

Played Kid Icarus for about an hour and a half today. I can already tell it's going to be fantastic- it's a lot of fun, the music is outstanding for a handheld, and the action is fast-paced. My favorite thing, though, is the amount of customization. You can fuse weapons together to make new ones, and the risk/reward system they came up with for the difficulty slider (where you can risk hearts to play a higher difficulty and go for rarer weapons and items) is genius. Oh, and the graphics are better than many Wii games.

I also played the first couple levels of Uprising, but I don't know how I feel about it yet. It looks great, and the banter between the goddess and Pit is actually funny. I love the shooting sections and I think that's why I'm uneasy about the game so far. They're so short. The ground combat works well with the stand, but always having to play with the stand kind of sucks.

I haven't used the stand yet, but I can see how it might be uncomfortable if you play for a long time without it. And I'm still ironing out the kinks or using the stylus to turn in the land-based areas, but it's not too bad.

Yeah, the little notebook they keep carrying around in the video. It has AR cards on the pages that I think you will need to scan at certain points in the game.

So, I guess you can't transfer special Miis back and forth between the Streetpass Plaza and Mii Maker. I got the gold pants Reggie today for the 3DS anniversary, but I can't transfer him to Mii Maker. Also, looks like Europe got Iwata for their special Mii. I'm guessing Japan got Miyamoto, those lucky bastards.

You'll have to use the face buttons as opposed to the thumb stick for movement. It's not horrible, but I'd like to compare it to the thumb stick to see which is better. Definitely playable, though.

Man, some of the user created Pushmo puzzles are crazy. I've looked through a couple hundred pages on a few different sites and collected a ton. I can't wait to try out the Super Mario Bros. levels that were made into puzzles.

Little fun fact about Kid Icarus:
Development of Kid Icarus: Uprising began in 2008. That was obviously before 3DS dev kits existed, so it was started on PC and Wii. The link below has a 2 minute video with footage of the game still in beta form.

Is the color of the Black 3DS (outside plastic) supposed to have a gradient to it? Mine seems like in the right light you can clearly see it going from lighter (top) to darker (bottom). Anyone else notice this?

I'm referring to just the top (or layer 1 in the illustration above). If you lay it on the table I can see a gradient going from the hinge to the bottom (near the camera). It's a very clean gradient but it seems a little off.

I think they said they were done with 3D Classic re-releases because they're more expensive/complicated to develop than they originally expected.

If they give up on 3D Classics without moving beyond NES games, that's going to suck. There are a bunch of SNES games I'd buy instantly, if they were redone in 3D. Secret of Mana and Mario RPG would be awesome in 3D, for example. I'd even be willing to pay like $20 for each of them. Maybe that's what they should do, make 3D Classic double packs and sell them in stores and maybe give an option to buy them individually from the eShop. $30-$40 for two great SNES games, redone in 3D, is not bad at all.

Not sure how useful this info will be for everyone but, download codes are not region locked. I just used one for 3D Classics: KI, from a U.S. pre-order, and it worked fine.

Not yet. That would be very fair to the people that preorder KI instead of waiting for a price drop. Nintendo eventually releases each eshop game to everyone after a good amount of time passes.

I read it only takes 12 minutes to beat. Anyone have Excitebike World Rally for the Wii? Is it worth the 200 coins?

I paid for it when it came out and I liked it but it is just Excitebike so you have to like the NES game, like burn said maybe more people will play online so may make it worth a revisit

How are you guys storing your Kid Icarus cards? I've got 13 of them now (the ones it came with, the three from Nintendo Power, three from Club Nintendo, one from Game Informer) and just have them in my game case.

They make baseball card sleeves that hold 9 cards per page and are transparent. You can put those in a binder

I keep mine in the little card holder thing that the default AR cards came with when you buy the system.

Hi!

I've been looking for a 3ds for a few days & I think i finally found one! lol

SO, that being said I have a bunch of questions since I haven't owned a Nintendo handheld since GBA,

What are AR cards & what do they do?

What kind of memory cards do these take? can I just pop in a 32gb SD card?

And Is there a store to buy games like the Playstation Store & Xbox Market place? and if there is can we do gameshares with it?

AR cards are little trading cards that can be used to do various things with the 3DS camera. Some have little games you can play. Some just pop out 3D models you can play around with.

Any SD card should work. A new 3DS should come pre-bundled with a 2gb SD card.

There is a store, but no gameshares, unless you have another 3DS or DSi right next to you. The online gamestore has demos and a few free apps as well.

Glad I wound up not pre-ordering Spirit Camera. Reviews haven't been as good as I was hoping, plus Destructoid's review says the campaign is only two hours. I'm still interested in getting it, but I'll try to wait until it's $15 or less.

Yes. In Mario Kart 7's instance, you can join a friend's Community. A Community is where hundreds of players
can race with their own set rules like Mushrooms Only, Bombs Only, etc.

I literally have awesome games where I get 1st every race finish w/10 coins every race and still 2 stars? I mean seriously?

Yeah basically. It's really crapty, like you said. You can have three perfect races and then one bump off the course screws you out of a three star rating. It sucks.

Pushmo is pretty good. It's ridiculously easy in the beginning, but gets harder in the later levels. Definately fun though.

The blue shells in Mario Kart 7 almost make me want to stop playing it. I'm only in the 50cc races and I'm getting nailed three times per race.

The blue shells in this one are way better than the other games since they can hit other players on their way to the leader now and you won't lose your item. But...when you happen to be the leader, I noticed it is a lot harder to avoid them by using a mushroom to speed out of the way at the last second. After playing Mario Kart Wii for years and getting the timing down, it isn't quite the same in MK7 and I've still not gotten the hang of it yet.

I'm not positive but couldn't you deflect a blue shell in the 64 version? Since it comes at you from the rear and not on top?

Yea the blue shells suck, the only thing you can do is break soon as you see someone get one and let 2nd place go ahead then get the hell away. However on 50cc you should be able to get such a demanding lead you can get hit and still get back up to speed before dropping out of 1st.

If you do see a blue shell coming for god sakes break before you get near a jump or something, getting hit sucks, but getting hit and knocked into a pit really really sucks.

I think the only ones I can stand to play anymore would be the GameCube, Wii and 3DS versions, with 3DS version being my favorite now. SNES, N64, GBA and DS haven't aged well (especially SNES and GBA, but for the DS version it just looks ugly and I don't ever want to have to go back to using a d-pad for Mario Kart).

Nintendo will have a new firmware update that will allow them to patch the shortcut exploits in Mario Kart 7.

A 3DS firmware update is coming soon.
This will add folder functionality to the home menu. You can store up to 60 items in a single folder. You can also give names to each folder. The first character of the name is shown in the folder's icon.
The firmware will also add support for software version up/patches. They will first patch Mario Kart 7 to fix some shortcut issues with the game.

I liked the Wii version of Animal Crossing the best, but I understand why it is generally looked at as a disappointment. So much more crap they could have done with it and stuff that was removed for no reason.

Hm...even though you can fly in New Super Mario Bros. 2, it still looks pretty linear (I could be mistaken though). I miss being able to explore.

Ok I think I figured out the 3 star for the most part.

Must haves: 1st every race and you can not be set back on track! You fall it's over.

10 coins is not necessary every race, I managed to get hit one race w/lighting at the end and dropped to 7 coins and still got the award.

I think staying in 1st may help, but generally speaking finishing 1st and not falling off has gotten me the 3 star every time.

I do lots of ramp boost jumping and side sliding as well so that could all help.

^ If it's also like the Wii version you will also want to try to stay on the track at all times and try to avoid driving on the dirt/grass even if it's to take a shortcut.

So just tested a theory on 100 cc lightning cup. Let myself get demolished by items, it was bad lol. I was blue shelled, lightning, red shelled, green shelled, spun out, drove in grass, everything. I made sure to finish 1st w/10 coins and not fall and got 3 stars.

Therefore I'm pretty sure the only criteria is finish 1st all 4 races and not fall off the track.

I'm looking forward to NSMB2. I loved and played the hell outta both current ones. I think I'm going to have. Super Mario platforming playthrough to last me till August (hoping US gets it this soon)

I think I used a poor choice of words when I said "linear." I'm thinking about Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World where you could fly around and explore a bit instead of staying close to the ground. The screenshot with the P Meter and raccoon tail doesn't show the screen moving up with Mario (Kind of how the Tanooki suit didn't actually let you fly in Super Mario 3D Land, from what I imagine). I'm hoping I'll have to eat all these words though.

I'm hoping that we'll be able to fly in NSMB2 also, and I also hope that Luigi will be available from the start this time, instead of with a code or completing roughly 60% of the game first.

Super Mario Bros. 3 is still my favorite game, and Nintendo trying to charm fans of that title makes me smile.

my criteria has failed me on the 150 cc need more than 1st and not falling of track, Man I need a faster cart for this crap! I barely squeezed 1st out of a few of them races right at the end.

well it took me till 1am but I beat da dang thang, was a great game looking forward to Last Spector and then the 3ds games, starting Kirby mass Attack the level I have played so far is the love child of kirby dreamland and canvas curse is fun.

Anyone beat Kid Icarus 3D? I am about to give up I wanted to beat it first then play Uprising but getting tired of waiting.

I beat it the other day. I felt the game started to pick up towards the end but I was ready for it to end to though...

I disagree about Uprising. I loved collecting weapon and trying out new weapons.... and also playing on max intensity.

My wife and I played Animal Crossing on the gamecube, but every version since that has been meh. I can't decide if it's because Animal Crossing was a lightning in a bottle thing for me or what. I feel like there was nothing different about the versions on the DS or Wii.

So I'd like to try it but I have this feeling I'll want the same feeling about it that I had 8 years ago, but I don't think I'll get it.

The DS version added a lot... Online, no grid based maps, TON more items, no gimmicky connectivity, hats, hairstyles, making your own designs.

The Wii version was meh.

Sure the online mode was neat, but the core was the same. More items didn't mean anything to me really.

This is why I think it really was just a great game that I have fond memories of and nothing can recapture that feeling. Maybe it's that it is so closely tied to the early times with my wife (girlfriend at the time).

Those are pretty good. I can't draw for crap so that app is kinda useless for me. It definitely beats the paint app that was recently added to PS Vita (I don't care if it was free, only supporting local multiplayer for something like that is lame)

For the SuperPhillip one I used a picture as an overlay to trace it. I can no longer draw as well as I used to because I shake too much thanks to medication.
So this helped a lot and you get the result you see before you.

think Pikimin could work on the 3ds? I sure did like those 2 games on gamecube, this last Kirby Mass Attack has some pikmin feel to it

Only took me a couple minutes. The folders are nice, but it would be better if you could label them with more than just one letter or number.

Ah man, that's neat!! I should so get this!! It would be cheaper than buying a drawing tablet!! But then I look at all the pictures in the 3D gallery and get discouraged because I probably couldn't do anything that looked as good as a lot of those!! I'd like that.
They're actually giving us Pikmin 2 on Wii in June (finally after making us wait 3 years longer than every other region!) and with Pikmin 3 coming to Wii U maybe they could do a 3DS version that could link up with it in some way. I kind of expect that to be a feature of the Wii U that gets ignored a lot, but I hope I'm wrong.
