Can Cuphead be played with the NES controllers, or are there too many inputs?

Just got the blaster together in the Labo VR kit. Based on all the comments for how great assembly is, I found it frustratingly slow. They need to make the instructions hands free and give the ability to increase playback speed. Spent so much time holding a finger to the screen so the video would play (you have to literally have to be touching the screen or the video will stop). Not sure what the deal was but the controller buttons work now, and they do have a way to fast forward. Still haven't found a way to auto play.

The two blaster games I played are a lot of fun. Each was 3x 1-3 minute rail shooters, and the aesthetic was very similar to Point Blank on PS. The blaster itself is pretty well done. It has a pump that actually charges (via rubber bands) and locks a cardboard "bolt". A paddle (button) releases the bolt which results in an oddly sayisfying audio and physical feedback.

I haven't found it yet, but I'm hoping the garage has a lot of flexibility. I could see creating some neat games with the blaster. I doubt it happens, but it would be awesome if they opened Labo VR to 3rd party/indie developers. It'd be great for House of the Dead/ similar games.

At first something just felt off about the controls. I read someone suggested remapping the Dash and Special attack moves to the shoulder buttons and so I did it and I agree it just feels better than having that on the face buttons. It's still a frustrating game though but I recommend looking into remapping the buttons.

I just put together my Labo VR goggles and hot damn is this thing fun. I'm only playing a tiny little mini game where you run the guy around to hit the bomb back to the other side (think 3D VR air hockey with stick men) and I played it for like 10 minutes straight. This thing is so immersive. Best $35 I've spend on entertainment in a while. I can't wait to try Mario and Zelda in VR mode next week!

Yup lots of people wanting that. But I seriously want more. My brief time with PSVR and House of Blood or whatever that VR game was called really made me a fan of VR. So I totally want to see more VR stuff from Nintendo in the future. It sounds like this is selling well so who knows. Maybe they'll continue to do VR stuff in the future! I would LOVE that!

I finally played around with the garage. It was pretty impressive. All of the mini games can be created using the garage. You can literally build basic platformers, sports, puzzle games, shooters and more. They really needed to add the ability to share creations. Based on what has been accomplished with other shared maker games I'd really like to see what people could come up with.

Yes, yes it is.

I bought Gunman Clive HD collection ($3 on sale). Always wanted to play it, never did. A simple shooter, love the atmosphere/setting.

I really enjoyed it on 3DS last year. I bought it again on Switch just to have it available there, since it was so cheap.

Beat the first one a little bit ago. Really enjoyed it but it got a tad frustrating on the last level. Great purchase for under $5 and I haven't even played the second.

I feel like the second one is "better", but I still enjoyed the first one more.

I had also taken a break about halfway through, but finally picked it back up and beat it a couple weeks ago. I'm still not a huge fan of the gameplay shift they do at a certain point, but I was eventually ok with it. The humor was so great in this game. Can't wait for the DLC, and to see what the developers do next.

Has anybody tried out a grip for their Switch? I play mostly in handheld mode these days and it's starting to take a toll on my wrists and forearms. I was hoping there would be one on Amazon that stood out as the best, but it's not so clear. Here are the ones I'm considering.

JETech - https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

Skull and Co - https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

Orzly - https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

Satisfye - https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

YCCTEAM - https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

I heard some good things about Satisfye, but I don't think I'll like how the right handle is offset like that. Most of the games I play don't really use the right analog stick, so it seems like it's not worth it to gear the grip toward that (although, maybe it's worth having JUST for those games). I also like how your Switch slides into the Satisfye one, all of the others seem to snap on in some way. JETech has an overwhelming lead in terms of reviews, but I wonder if maybe it was the first one to hit the market so it had an advantage in that regard.

After hand comfort, I'd love for it to fit in the dock while attached, but it's not a deal breaker if the best grip can't do this. I also want one that snaps on easily and fits well. Some reviews mentioned not liking how it snaps on, or the fit not being very secure.

If you've been using one, I'd love to hear what you think of it!

I usually prop the tablet up and play with the joycons in each hand. Very easy on the wrists/forearms if you can find a good spot to lean the tablet.

Usually when I play handheld, it's not somewhere I could easily setup the tablet like that.

Yeah, it got so bad I had just given up and bought a new pair. I'm really disappointed in Nintendo because it seems to be a common problem. It doesn't seem to happen with Pro Controllers, but they don't ship those with their consoles...

Luckily haven't had any trouble with my Switch at all so far. Grips still work fine.

Cuphead is still great. Got to the second island and am working my way through that one. I love the carnival vibe. I'm just a hair disappointed at how few run and gun levels there seem to be compared to straight-up boss battles, but all of them are fun regardless so can't complain too much.

I'm stuck on a level now that really seems to be taking inspiration from Super Mario World, which is my all-time favorite video game, so I love it. It's all carnival snack-themed, but there are some very Super Mario-ish bits about it:
-This one is more Super Mario Bros in general, but when you get close to the "boss" of the level, projectiles start to fly from the left side of the screen toward you. In SMB, it's Bowser's flames - in this, it's a giant hotdog's condiments.
-There's a wizard character who shows up throughout the level, shoots shapes at you, then disappears. Exactly like the Magikoopas from SMW.
-And not to mention a few seconds of the music track that plays throughout the level is taken directly from one of the levels in SMW.

Real neat. Keep finding things to love about this game.

I have had the problem three times. Once with a joycon from my switch and the second and third from my sons switch. In all three instances they were repaired by Nintendo. If the joycons are within the repair period of 1 year, they will fix them. In all three instances Nintendo turned the repair rather quickly.

@Guru I've mostly only had issues with the red/blue joy-cons that came with my Switch originally. They don't "drift" though, they just randomly disconnect. Just for half a second or so, but enough to mess up your gameplay. The gray ones I bought separately on launch day, and the yellow ones I got for Christmas 2018 have never done this.

However, after I got the yellow pair, I noticed while playing Mario Odyssey that the yellow ones just felt so much more responsive and consistent than my two launch pairs. It was so much easier to pull off the various motion controls in that game. On top of that, the rumble was a lot better. So, I ended up sending off both of my launch pairs to Nintendo. I felt like they were kind of better when I got them back, but still not as good as the yellow pair, and the red/blue pair eventually started to have the disconnect issue again a few months later.

Switch has already outsold every one of Nintendo's consoles since and including the N64 except the Wii. Still a long way to go to Wii as Wii sold 101.63 million while Switch is at 33.15 currently.

http://www.vgchartz.com/article/437070/nintendo-sw...

Also their highest selling game Mario Kart 8 has sold 15 million while N64's was Mario 64 at 11.91 mil.

SNES is next then the NES. I think Smash Bros is at 13-14 million and that's not counting digital copies sold. Its also only weeks away from outselling the ps4 in Japan.

Fudge, Smash Bros Ultimate numbers are nuts. Look at how close it is to the other two flagships. Capcom's gotta be eating its underwear right about now, their main characters do better in a Nintendo game as fanservice than they do in their own fighters

Yeah, Smash Bros did insane numbers. It was the 5th best selling game last year even though it was only out for 3 weeks that calendar year. Its first week it was out it set a record for first week sales numbers for exclusives this gen....and that was with an install base of only around 25m at the time. Smash Bros physical sales in Japan also just hit 3 million which makes it the first game to sell over 3m since Wii Sports. Counting digital its probably closer to 3.5-4m which puts it at around the same level as what FF7 sold over there in its entire life time. Nintendo is a cash generating monster right now.

Just say,

With the exception of the Wii the Switch has outsold all of of Nintendo's previous consoles.

heres a report that claims the smaller switch model could be out as soon as june, and that the upgraded version also hits this year, but is a modest upgrade, and a "more powerful" version is not being made after all.
