yeah that sealed the deal for me. For $34'ish? Hell ya I'll play around with it. But after hearing how impressed people are I kinda wanna see Nintendo support it with future games. Imagine Mario Kart VR, Metroid Prime Trilogy VR, Virtual Boy Collection, WarioWare VR.

I really want to see MK8Dx VR since they already have VR MK arcade. Since its not being advertised now I'm assuming there are hardware limitations. frown

Still pretty excited to try what they're offering though after reading hands on impressions and reviews.

Negative. It's $50, just like Best Buy. The stand-alone DLC is down to 20 though.

Yeah, it was actually Monolith's studio head that said people should play Xeno 2 through chapter 7, play Torna, and then go back to Xeno 2. The whole Torna arc seemed to have been summed up pretty well between chapters 7 and 8 in the main game which is the only reason I skipped the DLC. Maybe there's more to it than I think there is. Plus it's a pretty short experience by JRPG standards (about 20-25 hours) so maybe I should pick it up. $20 is a really nice price.

The mini-bosses right before Bowser were also pretty tough because it was a series of battles that you didn't get to heal up in-between. Most of the game was pretty easy but I enjoyed the difficulty level.

Finally tried out Star Soldier on Switch the other night. The nostalgia was nice for a little while, but once that wore off, it was ROUGH. Could only stand a few more minutes of it before I turned it off. It's the only game in the series I've played. I'd like to try the others some time. What about the ones after Soldier Blade: Star Parodier, Vanishing Earth, and Star Soldier R. Are they worth playing?

Parodier is fun but don't think of it as a sequel, it's more of a tongue in cheek gag of the genre. Haven't played R. All three of the TG/PCE hucard based titles are superb imo.

It's definitely worth a go, if just for the amusement factor alone. I mean you can play as a flying PC Engine console and shoot out cds. laughing out loud Aside from that since it was so easy it actually had me coming back for a bit until I did it with no deaths because I knew I could.

It's been awhile since I've played these and those other 3 are all excellent but iirc Final Soldier is just the nutter butters. I could very well be getting them somewhat mixed up though.

Honestly, i think the more features that they pack into the main menu, the less snappy the interface is gonna be. I'm perfectly fine losing out on some things like bulky themes and looped music if it means i can jump between the eshop, some settings, and a game within like 5 seconds.

Shouldn't cloud saves have helped with that though (minus the few games that don't support it)? Or is this feature only helpful to the people who don't pay for Switch online?

A little bit, like when I first open it and try to school down to Great Deals or whatever it's called, it usually lags a second or so, then when I click on one of the categories, it's kind of laggy as it loads the games. Once I'm scrolling through the list and clicking on games, I don't really have a problem.

They should happen automatically. You can press the + button on a game's icon and see if the save has been backed up. Once in a while though when I start a game I get a message "your save file didn't back up properly" or something like that. I just ignore it but I never figured out why it says that.

Do you know if, when they added it, did it automatically go back and backup past saves, or just saves created/updated from that point forward?

This is what I experience. It's a bit annoying. It does seem slow to load up the games in the list as well. I have decent network performance too. It's only laggy in the eshop.

Possible delay with the rumored Switch Pro.
"The reason appears to specifically be with getting the Nintendo Switch operating system running on this new hardware and an issue with power consumption."

And the "Switch Lite" version will release in Fall and still be dockable.

So I got the goggles folded and played the "demo" games. I have never done a labo, and if there is an update I have not downloaded it. The build was easy, but moving through the instructions was unclear. I could only fast forward through the video (super fast), or play it at normal speed by holding a button (paused upon release). Maybe they have the ability to play the video at a normal pace without holding a button, but I didn't find it. Mine has specks of lint on the lenses which is annoying, will clean off later.

The demo games available up front were a big meh in general (12 of them?), much like the lesser games in Wii Play. There was a platformer that was fun but way too short, a couple weak Wii Sports knock-offs (don't expect anything close to Wii Sports), and some straight up VR tech demos. There is more to unlock, but not sure how much of that is tied to the other packages.

As for VR, tracking is excellent, but there is noticeable motion blur while tracking head movement. The image is definately pixelated at all times, presumably similar to comparably priced VR (haven't played any). My wife who typically suffers from motion sickness had no issues playing it, but mentioned it was probably not something she could play for extended periods of time without getting a headache. I can't imagine playing Zelda BotW this way for much more than a try it experience.

Haven't built the blaster or whatever else is included, and there are more mini games to play. It's not a mind blowing experience, but for $40 it's still interesting. Anyone expecting a $500 VR experience will be sorely disappointed. Will play more later in the week and update.

It will be interesting to get insight from someone who's played VR.

I wanna just wait a little longer until Nintendo gives the ok for 3rd parties/indies to support it. Full Castlevania Anniversary Collection game list shown and release date.

https://www.polygon.com/2019/4/18/18484715/castlev...

Konami announced the full eight-game lineup for its upcoming Castlevania Anniversary Collection on Thursday, confirming the inclusion of classic games like Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest and one important rarity in Kid Dracula.

Back in March, Konami announced four of the titles included in the Castlevania Anniversary Collection: the original Castlevania (NES), Castlevania 2: Belmont's Revenge (Game Boy), Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse (NES), and Super Castlevania 4 (Super NES).

Rounding out the collection will be Castlevania The Adventure (Game Boy), Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest (NES), Castlevania Bloodlines (Sega Genesis), and Kid Dracula (Famicom). The last game on that list received a Game Boy remake/sequel in North America, but the original Kid Dracula (aka Akumajō Special: Boku Dracula-kun) was only released on Famicom in Japan.

Castlevania Anniversary Collection will be released on May 16 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC via Steam, and Xbox One. The collection is priced at $19.99.

Konami also released its Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection today. It includes one Castlevania spinoff, the 1988 game Haunted Castle, as well as A-JAX, Nemesis, Vulcan Venture, Salamander, Thunder Cross, Scramble, and TwinBee. It's available through the Nintendo Switch eShop, PlayStation Store, Steam, and Xbox Games Store for $19.99.

Yea, Nintendo now knows what Sony is doing and when so they have more time to let faster chips mature and go down in price. So this year we will just get the smaller redesign and next year (March) we will get a more powerful Switch so Developers can Target along with the next systems. They will aiming for 4k 60fps on the new systems so maybe 900p/30fps for the pro switch?

a beefier switch to go along with ps5 and x2 makes sense.. they wont try to match their raw power but if they can do something close like this did this time maybe they're thinking they can get some of the third party games as well. make it BC with current switch stuff and you already have a library and dont alienate a large consumer base so soon.

It will be interesting because I think the Switch has only about 40% the raw power of the base X1 and PS4. If the Switch Pro has 40% the raw power of the X2 and PS5 then it will have to be around PS4 Pro levels of power.

The game was complete as it was release. Can't expect everything to be handed to people on a silver platter. It's DLC. You don't need to buy it. The game has plenty of characters as it is. Now Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is a different story.

I wouldn't hold your breath for that sort of leap in portable gaming device specifications. I'm expecting baseline Switch performance with better power management and possibly 1080p60hz tablet. I honestly think the only reason Sony and Microsoft are jumping on the hardware with actual decent profiles this generation is because they're trying to prematurely antiquate the platform that's given BOTH of them so much trouble in retaining more hardware sales. If everyone has to develop for a mid-tier PC profile, Switch third party support is gonna get crap on hard, harder than it is now at least.

Odd choices for Castlevania putting IV on but no Dracula X. Without the GBA ones I'll likely pass. Doesn't get my hopes up for the Contra Collection. No NES Contra will likely be a pass as well.

I think I got the fighters pass with the game combo for $80 and 85% eshop didn't seem that much.

Even full price that game has so much value with the DLC the characters are always very fleshed out. I remember getting Cloud etc in Smash U and it was fun.

Oh believe me, I'm not. I just think that a lot of people may get their hopes up that this game will be playing next gen AAA games and I'm a little concerned that they won't be. I would be surprised if the Switch Ultra ends up being any more powerful than the base X1 or PS4. I think we're going to need to wait for the next gen Switch to see Pro level power.

I've never played it, but would like to. My only knowledge of it is when AVGN did that review of nearly all the Castlevania games (at that point). He seemed to think it was far worse than Castlevania IV and a huge step back. Either way, I still want to try it.

Yeah, I had a feeling there wasn't enough room to put everything that needed to be put on. SotN would have really been a compelling addition. Maybe they'll make additional releases. Probably not.

Drac X on the SNES was a bit of a bastard offshoot of the actual PC Engine title Rondo of Blood. I liked it, but it pales in comparison, and I think SCV4 beats it pretty handily. It's WAAAAY overpriced, lol, it really needs a digital release, on either or both platforms.

Don't have you have an Xbox One? If so you should have been playing this game 2 years ago, its incredible and its criminal for anyone who owns an X1 or Switch to not play it. Probably the most unique and original game that has come out this entire generation by a long shot.

As far as the bosses go, you haven't seen anything until the 2nd island and the first real tough boss, the amusement park guy shows up. The Queen Bee boss was the most difficult for me with the dragon guy coming in 2nd. When I did my all "A" rank boss run the freaking devil took me almost 3 hours to beat. Don't even get me started on the hardest difficulty, I couldn't even beat anyone on the island 1.

lol yah I'm quickly realizing frustration is real for this one. I had been meaning to snag it since it was released but never bit the bullet. I find I don't really play many games on the TV these days unless it's something like Spider-man or RDR2 - big sprawling open games. So when I saw that this was out for Switch it seemed like a no-brainer - it'll definitely get more play-time on that than it would have on XB1.

I never found it frustrating. Much like Dark Souls when ever I died it always felt like it was my own fault which imo is perfect for a game like this. The bosses are all so incredibly creative and unique that I was excited to start up a new battle just to see what they had in store. I'm definitely buying this physically for Switch and the X1. The two brothers who made this game earned my support twice over.

Crazy to think that just 2 brothers who had never made a game before and had no experience in game development made almost this entire game by themselves. Its one of the most impressive feats I've seen before in gaming. I know that DLC is coming (more like an expansion), this year and the devs also want to patch in online MP and, seeing how its Microsoft and Nintendo, cross play will probably be a thing.

I think there are 3 islands with 17 bosses and around 4-5 of those side scroller stages. Took me about 20 hours to run through the game and "A" rank everything along with a lot of additional dinking around.

Not too sure. I think Cuphead right now is $20 and the devs said that they're not releasing the physical edition until the DLC is out and all bugs are taken care of so everything can be included on the disc/cart. So since it will have the base game and DLC it could potentially be a bit more, maybe like $30? Nothing confirmed though.

2 brothers until the end when they had to get a little more help with audio and to push the game through the finish line. In order to do that they decided to mortgage their house to have the funds available to finish it up.

I think it hit like 2 million between PC and X1 a few months after release, so it definitely was a gamble that paid off, but it was good to see that they were confident enough in their game to gamble their livelihoods on it. They say that they're thinking about what they would like to do next, but no work has started yet. They're one of the companies that I hope MS snatches up the most, them and Moon Studios (guys behind Ori). It would be awesome for these guys have the financial backing that allows them to work on a game without having to make such high risk moves.

Can Cuphead be played with the NES controllers, or are there too many inputs?

Just got the blaster together in the Labo VR kit. Based on all the comments for how great assembly is, I found it frustratingly slow. They need to make the instructions hands free and give the ability to increase playback speed. Spent so much time holding a finger to the screen so the video would play (you have to literally have to be touching the screen or the video will stop). Not sure what the deal was but the controller buttons work now, and they do have a way to fast forward. Still haven't found a way to auto play.

The two blaster games I played are a lot of fun. Each was 3x 1-3 minute rail shooters, and the aesthetic was very similar to Point Blank on PS. The blaster itself is pretty well done. It has a pump that actually charges (via rubber bands) and locks a cardboard "bolt". A paddle (button) releases the bolt which results in an oddly sayisfying audio and physical feedback.

I haven't found it yet, but I'm hoping the garage has a lot of flexibility. I could see creating some neat games with the blaster. I doubt it happens, but it would be awesome if they opened Labo VR to 3rd party/indie developers. It'd be great for House of the Dead/ similar games.

At first something just felt off about the controls. I read someone suggested remapping the Dash and Special attack moves to the shoulder buttons and so I did it and I agree it just feels better than having that on the face buttons. It's still a frustrating game though but I recommend looking into remapping the buttons.

I just put together my Labo VR goggles and hot damn is this thing fun. I'm only playing a tiny little mini game where you run the guy around to hit the bomb back to the other side (think 3D VR air hockey with stick men) and I played it for like 10 minutes straight. This thing is so immersive. Best $35 I've spend on entertainment in a while. I can't wait to try Mario and Zelda in VR mode next week!

Yup lots of people wanting that. But I seriously want more. My brief time with PSVR and House of Blood or whatever that VR game was called really made me a fan of VR. So I totally want to see more VR stuff from Nintendo in the future. It sounds like this is selling well so who knows. Maybe they'll continue to do VR stuff in the future! I would LOVE that!

I finally played around with the garage. It was pretty impressive. All of the mini games can be created using the garage. You can literally build basic platformers, sports, puzzle games, shooters and more. They really needed to add the ability to share creations. Based on what has been accomplished with other shared maker games I'd really like to see what people could come up with.

I bought Gunman Clive HD collection ($3 on sale). Always wanted to play it, never did. A simple shooter, love the atmosphere/setting.

I really enjoyed it on 3DS last year. I bought it again on Switch just to have it available there, since it was so cheap.

Beat the first one a little bit ago. Really enjoyed it but it got a tad frustrating on the last level. Great purchase for under $5 and I haven't even played the second.

I had also taken a break about halfway through, but finally picked it back up and beat it a couple weeks ago. I'm still not a huge fan of the gameplay shift they do at a certain point, but I was eventually ok with it. The humor was so great in this game. Can't wait for the DLC, and to see what the developers do next.

Has anybody tried out a grip for their Switch? I play mostly in handheld mode these days and it's starting to take a toll on my wrists and forearms. I was hoping there would be one on Amazon that stood out as the best, but it's not so clear. Here are the ones I'm considering.

JETech - https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

Skull and Co - https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

Orzly - https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

Satisfye - https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

YCCTEAM - https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

I heard some good things about Satisfye, but I don't think I'll like how the right handle is offset like that. Most of the games I play don't really use the right analog stick, so it seems like it's not worth it to gear the grip toward that (although, maybe it's worth having JUST for those games). I also like how your Switch slides into the Satisfye one, all of the others seem to snap on in some way. JETech has an overwhelming lead in terms of reviews, but I wonder if maybe it was the first one to hit the market so it had an advantage in that regard.

After hand comfort, I'd love for it to fit in the dock while attached, but it's not a deal breaker if the best grip can't do this. I also want one that snaps on easily and fits well. Some reviews mentioned not liking how it snaps on, or the fit not being very secure.

If you've been using one, I'd love to hear what you think of it!

Luckily haven't had any trouble with my Switch at all so far. Grips still work fine.

Cuphead is still great. Got to the second island and am working my way through that one. I love the carnival vibe. I'm just a hair disappointed at how few run and gun levels there seem to be compared to straight-up boss battles, but all of them are fun regardless so can't complain too much.

I'm stuck on a level now that really seems to be taking inspiration from Super Mario World, which is my all-time favorite video game, so I love it. It's all carnival snack-themed, but there are some very Super Mario-ish bits about it:
-This one is more Super Mario Bros in general, but when you get close to the "boss" of the level, projectiles start to fly from the left side of the screen toward you. In SMB, it's Bowser's flames - in this, it's a giant hotdog's condiments.
-There's a wizard character who shows up throughout the level, shoots shapes at you, then disappears. Exactly like the Magikoopas from SMW.
-And not to mention a few seconds of the music track that plays throughout the level is taken directly from one of the levels in SMW.

Real neat. Keep finding things to love about this game.

I have had the problem three times. Once with a joycon from my switch and the second and third from my sons switch. In all three instances they were repaired by Nintendo. If the joycons are within the repair period of 1 year, they will fix them. In all three instances Nintendo turned the repair rather quickly.

@Guru I've mostly only had issues with the red/blue joy-cons that came with my Switch originally. They don't "drift" though, they just randomly disconnect. Just for half a second or so, but enough to mess up your gameplay. The gray ones I bought separately on launch day, and the yellow ones I got for Christmas 2018 have never done this.

However, after I got the yellow pair, I noticed while playing Mario Odyssey that the yellow ones just felt so much more responsive and consistent than my two launch pairs. It was so much easier to pull off the various motion controls in that game. On top of that, the rumble was a lot better. So, I ended up sending off both of my launch pairs to Nintendo. I felt like they were kind of better when I got them back, but still not as good as the yellow pair, and the red/blue pair eventually started to have the disconnect issue again a few months later.

Switch has already outsold every one of Nintendo's consoles since and including the N64 except the Wii. Still a long way to go to Wii as Wii sold 101.63 million while Switch is at 33.15 currently.

Also their highest selling game Mario Kart 8 has sold 15 million while N64's was Mario 64 at 11.91 mil.

Yeah, Smash Bros did insane numbers. It was the 5th best selling game last year even though it was only out for 3 weeks that calendar year. Its first week it was out it set a record for first week sales numbers for exclusives this gen....and that was with an install base of only around 25m at the time. Smash Bros physical sales in Japan also just hit 3 million which makes it the first game to sell over 3m since Wii Sports. Counting digital its probably closer to 3.5-4m which puts it at around the same level as what FF7 sold over there in its entire life time. Nintendo is a cash generating monster right now.

It will definitely outsell both of those two consoles, but the Wii may be a bit more difficult. If it keeps up this pace then it would take around 6 years to outsell it which could be tough since next gen for PS4 and MS start in about 18 months. That Switch Mini could really send sales into the stratosphere, though.

That's a good point. Honestly, even if it doesn't though, in this atmosphere, 80 million is huge. Competition is feirce, Steam is driving more people to PC than ever, and mobile gaming and YouTube took an enormous chunk out of console sales. This thing would have sold 200 million 15 years ago (even without the graphical upgrade).

The Mini could let the Switch be unphased by next gen consoles snuffing out Switch sales and it could become the handheld chose to replace the 3DS rather than direct competition to the PS5 and NextBox. That's the only thing I'm worried about. Devs haven't been releasing most AAA ports for Switch this gen. Imagine next gen. I feel like we won't get crap. I hope I'm wrong though.

Could have the new "Mini" Switch by June.

Growth in the current period will get a boost from the launch of a new, cheaper version of the Switch, according to two people familiar with the matter who requested anonymity to discuss private plans. The new device will likely be launched by the end of June, according to one of the people. The existing Switch will receive a modest upgrade this year, though a more powerful version is not in the works, the people said.

What it sounded like was their "Next Gen" Switch may be looking to launch with the next generation of consoles but it will be forward and backwards compatible with 1st party games. We'll have to see what they have planned out since Nintendo is in a really weird grey area.

The Next Gen Switch is still just in the planning phase though:

"Beyond the smaller, budget-focused model lies the development of the overhauled next-generation model intended to replace the one currently available. Nintendo is believed to be experimenting on a number of different things for the device, including usability, improved image rendering, and changes to the operating system, among other things. One development source contends, however, that it still remains unclear at this stage who at the company will end up taking the lead on conceptual development for the new console."

I just don't want Nintendo's library to be split between two systems again. I'm so glad the 3DS has basically phased out at this point and all new games moving forward will be coming to Switch. I want it to stay that way, all of their games on one platform. I'm fine with them making a smaller/budget model and/or a more powerful revision so long as we don't end up with games only playing on certain ones.

ModernVintageGamer covered the power of the Switch a bit on his channel (before Nintendo had him take down his videos). I still stand by no new performance hardware addition to the Switch. It is going to be:

1) Regular Model with Dock $249.99
2) Portable Model with No-Dock (Cheaper Price) $199.99
3) Regular Model with the Tegra X1 overclocked - $299.99

The overclocked X1 could have heat issues that they will probably solve for. But this will mean that the system remains the same so devs can release the same game across all of them and the user with the overclocked model will have better performance / higher textures.

Edit: The overclocked video is still there:

The Tegra in the Switch is gimped compared to the same chip in the Nvidia Shield. Its to maintain battery life and ability to work in portable and dock mode.

Edit:
https://wccftech.com/nintendo-switch-tegra-x1-run-...

In a new report by Eurogamer, it's been revealed that the Tegra X1 chip which powers the Nintendo Switch will not be running to its full potential. According to the report, clock-speeds will be locked at 768 MHz, which is considerably lower than expected.

GPU clock-speeds are event more surprising, and will definitely impact the games coming to the Switch. According to Eurogamer's report, the Switch's GPU will be down-clocked to 307.2 MHz so that it will be possible to hit thermal and battery life targets.

thats what was talked about a little while ago, they envisioned a 5 year life, if they are working on something that might match up. and if it could play current switch stuff that would be pretty nice, high density carts would seem to be what nintendo would stick with. they may have looked at it and said we need to replace the wii u and 3ds, but the ps5 etc will be out and we'll need another so maybe it all falls in line. the switch follow up in 2021 or early 2022 might not work out too bad for them. they keep the current model around for awhile, especially the mini one to replace the 3ds, but all the units will play the games so its not dividing their dev teams or the consumers

By "no multiplayer", that doesn't mean no level sharing does it? If so that'd be an incredible step backwards.

If you mean multiplayer as in you can't co-op a level or whatever, I could probably live without it for a Mario Maker game.

They didn't outright say it will have multiplayer (the Super Mario Maker website still says "Multiplayer: TBD"), but they kinda confirmed it in their promotional artwork, didn't they? To bother making this image and then not having multiplayer would be messed up.

But I'm kinda over Mario 2D games if they don't have local mp. The fun if NSMBU and 3D World was having local and doing like a 4 man coop thing or even 2 person.

My guess is like the 3DS version you'll be able to create levels with friends, though on 3DS you couldn't do it simultaneously, it was through Street Pass.

That kinda bugs me though, I shouldn't have to "guess". This close to a game's release, we should really know this kind of basic info about the game already, I don't know what they're waiting for. Regardless I will be pre-purchasing this the minute it is available on the eShop. I won't make the same mistake I did on Wii U and get the physical version.

Yeah, not what Switch peeps were hoping for. I think Atlus wants to keep mainline Persona on PlayStation and mainline SMT on Nintendo. I haven't played a musou style game since I was a teenager. Really not my genre at all, but it's Persona so i'll probably give it a go depending on which characters I get to play as. I'm actually surprised they are only focusing on Persona 5 and not all the Persona games.

Do you mean like collaborating on levels and stuff, or just being able to play through levels other people have made, in multiplayer? I assume the latter, and that might be tricky. I'm not against it, but I would want multiplayer levels to be separate from single-player levels. It would be too hard to cheese-proof levels if you have to consider what up to 4 players could possibly team up and do.

There's certainly room for improvement, but I don't think the online was nearly as bad as people made it out to be, especially after they changed the star filter to go by star rate instead of star count. Most people seemed to want online to feed them a constant stream of amazing levels, and that's just not feasible when the vast majority of level creators suck. I mostly just want better search capabilities, but they should also improve the 100-Mario challenge by filtering out new/low-starred levels. I wouldn't mind a more robust rating system, like a rating of 1-10, instead of just star or no star. I'm definitely curious to see what changes they make.

Yeah, I think it just gets messy if they don't separate it like that. I was only looking at it from a creator perspective, but even from a player perspective, if you're trying to play multiplayer but keep getting levels that were designed for single player, it's not gonna be a good time.

The social media marketing around MK11 really turned me off from it and the unlocking progression system looks dumb as fudge. I think they said with perfect RNG on opening the loot boxes you could possibly get everything unlocked in around 3600 hours, unless you don't mind paying $3600 actual USD to unlock it manually.

They're very typically like, Noble/Royalty coming to save the dirty peasants, hordes of barbarians and warring factions against a small assembly of elites and princes/princesses.

This looks like some anime bullcrap. It's been trending that way for a long-ass time obviously but we seem to have strayed far from what I would consider to be a more traditional Swords 'n Dragoons affair and we're just loading up on Ouran High School War Club shenanigans. I was really looking forward to a nice, clean canonical entry into the FE world on the Switch. I'm so disinterested at this point that I can't imagine myself buying it anymore.

Kind of feeling the same way. I've only ever played one other FE game (which ever was the first one for the GBA) and thought it was pretty fun, reminded me a lot of Shining Force, but this type of Anime high school stuff kind of really puts me off. I'll have to see more of the game play to see how it all works, but so far this news really dampens my excitement for this game.

Finally got around to trying Zelda in VR. Woof. Resolution is rough, makes the game look pretty bad. The motion tracking is good but pointless. I find myself using the sticks to adjust the camera more than head motion. Maybe if you strapped the system to your head it might be playable, but not as they had intended imo. It was pretty cool jumping from a high vantage point and gliding, looking around.

Just beat Gunman Clive 2. Really enjoyed these two games. I think I liked the second one better, but it had 2 crappy levels. Thought it's best levels were excellent. I can see myself playing these over again with the other characters with the NES controllers.

For each game I beat it on Normal as Clive, then went back and beat it on Hard as the girl, then started a game with the other character but didn't like playing as them and quit pretty early.

- ability to see friend list levels
- ability to follow favorite creators

You could, but it took a level slot. For some reason they limited you to like 120 levels downloaded or created rather than whatever your storage could handle.

I'm probably getting it, but would like to know more. I have no confidence they will improve the online to where I want it, but I hope they improve it a decent amount.

I'm definitely getting it. It's been my most wanted game for a while.

They've already shown off a ton of new content. At this point, I guess my main hopes are:

-More power-ups (in particular, hammer bro suit, tanooki suit, frog suit, and penguin suit)
-Improved level rating system
-Koopalings and/or other bosses
-Ability to save favorite levels. The best you could do in MM1 was view all of your starred levels, but it only saved a certain number and then would begin to un-star the oldest ones.

I assume he meant a way to easily see levels made by people on your friend list. In the first Super Mario Maker you couldn't do this through the game, you had to use the bookmark site and bookmark at least one level from each friend so you could then "follow" them in the game. It was super lame and I hope they have a better solution for the sequel because I have a feeling the majority of casual fans had no idea that bookmark site even exists.

Nice dude! Glad you are enjoying it more now. The 2nd half of the game definitely picks up. The last set of bosses you fight

are a 2 phase battle against the Demon King and the first phase is pretty manageable. Just dodge his attacks, then ride the rocket until it reaches one of his heads. But the 2nd part can get a little tricky and frustrating. I think I only managed to beat the final boss phase after quite a few tries and by blind luck cause they don't really explain what ya have to do but just remember when you get on the rocket in the 2nd phase just keep riding it to avoid all damage until you get to the roof, then you can breathe easy.

I was the opposite, I preferred before the switch. I really didn't like the switch at all for the first bit, but then it grew on me enough that I was able to enjoy the rest of the game, although I still would have preferred the game sticking with the linear style.

Oh yeah I forgot about the Phantom boss. He was kinda easy though. And the Demon King you get the crown to gain access to the music box in the tower of time. There's also another boss you gotta run away from after Demon King that's kinda a BS fight. I died there so many times cause you cant really make any mistakes running away from it.

if an EB Canada listing is accurate, Darksiders 2 Deathinitive and Biomutant are switch bound.. one of the versions of DS2 (xbox one?) had a bad memory leak bug hopefully they have or will be fixing.

thq has some many things going, last i saw over 40 projects big and small, they've bought a lot of devs the last couple years but thats a lot for any company to manage and put out quality product. B games for half the price of a AAA game have their place, but when you are making so many your AAA's are B's and your B's are C's you're probably trying to do too much.
