What's the best jrpg on Switch that's not too long? Like no more than 30 hours or so.

I can see why GameStop is going out of business. I am at Pax and went to the near by mall to check if they would have a copy of Tokyo Mirage Session. Not only did he not have any idea what it was he said they wouldn't get it and I should have pre-ordered it. I am like dude I am from out of town...

I tried to order a game from their site a couple months ago. Divinity II: Dragon Knight Saga. They sent me copy of Divinity II: Ego Draconis. And then another copy after I told them they sent me the wrong game. And then a copy of Divinity Original Sin 2. Then another copy of Ego Draconis (the third copy and fourth wrong shipment) before just refunding me my initial purchase and saying the game I wanted wasn't in stock. Yet is still listed as being in stock on their website. They are a fudging joke.

Read a comment that Tokyo Mirage Sessions is like Persona with FE characters as your persona...is that true? If so, I'll definitely jump on that.

@tonymack21 I missed that announcement. Definitely picking FE up again just for that lol

ya kind of, its shin megami tensei and the mirages (personas) are based on fire emblem characters.. there really arent fire emblem elements though. its worth a look, def check out some gameplay vids, i think im going to jump into the new switch one when i finish radiant dawn, im about halfway ish through that i think. im either gonna do that or play a really modded out playthrough of FF7 on pc before the remake.

It is, it's not bad. As long as super KAWWAAAIIIIIIIII Jpop idols don't annoy you. I watch a lot of Japanese Comedy and variety shows so I'm super into it.

The battle system is amazing. It is a proto P5 game really. The music is very catchy. The story gets better towards the end.

I'm glad I didn't chime in lol. I wanted to say I'm not far enough to say if it's grabbed me. I like the main girl character the shy sweet type and the idol thing is totally ok in my book.

I'm very disappointed with this game. Its not great quality for a $60 "remaster". I wont be playing this.

I like it so far, it's quality. The difficulty feels just right on Normal. I like the way the power up progression system works. By getting new items from new groups of enemies allows you to equip the next set of weapons/sets. So going back to "base" a couple times each dungeon is very useful.

Probably nothing. Its just not for me honestly. And I was just pissed I wasted $60 on a game that I should have researched before buying. I'm sure the game is fine. But that type of game isn't what I enjoy. I love Persona and most SMT games, but this is just not what I wanted it to be.

And on that note. Anyone have any recommends on an RPG, any style (action, strategy, etc), that has generations/lineage in it? I've been messing around with and playing Massive Chalice again today for the first time since it came out in 2015. And I kind of want to play something new (that I haven't played before), but something with similar mechanics in regards to management of generations in the game. Trying to google this has turned into an infuriating game of "do people actually play games, or do they just write crap articles claiming apples are exactly like bananas".

Was hoping to find tactical/strategy rpgs with it. Looks like the only other ones are the PS3 games of Agarest War. I'm probably sol because its a such a niche thing, and I should just play Crusader Kings II. Since that is really what my itch needs.

agarest war is so bad, i almost never put an rpg down once i start it, i finished magna carta and blue reflection, but i could not do agarest, and i gave it a really long time since alot of rpgs can take time to take off.

I never finished Magna Carta 2 on the 360 (I assume that is the one you meant?, or did you mean the PC 2001 game? or the 2005 PS2 game?), but I remember kind of liking it early on. Maybe that is just foggy nostalgia. Because there must have been a reason why I never finished it. I think I only played it for 12-15 hours.

When I bought my 360 a few years ago I bought most of the RPGs on it so Magna Carta 2 is one of the games I intend to finish on it.

SteamWorld Heist is a 2D turn based strategy that'll give you 20-25 hours of fun. The story isn't anything to write home about but lotsa variation and challenge to it

I'm sure its a decent game, but I have a strong distaste for this style of game. I can't stand side scrollers, of any kind. I refuse to play them. I played more than enough of them in the 80's and 90's. I also really dislike all the games being made that are in a retro style graphics/art wise. I mean its fine they are being made and people enjoy them. But they aren't for me. For some reason it annoys me when I find a description of a game that sounds fun, and then I look at screen shots or a video and its some 16/32 bit iso or side scroller and I just instantly get turned off of it. I know, I'm odd and insanely picky. I'm that guy that doesn't own anything retro because I've been there done that, and don't have a desire to do it again.

It takes a lot for me to drop a game as well as soon as I pass the one hour mark or so but I ended up dropping Agarest, it's just a huge pos. I've finished some pretty high level kusoge too.

Always surprise me when 9 gets put in front of 7, 8 or 10.

Don't get me wrong, I like 9, just not on the same level as the others.

Speaking of which, I will def be doing another running FFX once the spring rush of games ends.

id probably say 7 10 9 8 out of that grouping, with the gap close between 7 and 10 and then a bigger gap to 9 and 8 with less inbetween those.

ive played through 7/10 several times over the years, the only FF games ive ever replayed strangely now that i think of it.
