Same here. I was playing Prime and Fusion back to back too. Good times.

Speaking of Metroid, I'm on track to beating Super Metroid for the first time via SNES Online on Switch. I'm not a huge fan of the series and they could never seem to grab my attention, but I'm enjoying Super Metroid enough to probably beat it.

Also, I bit the bullet and bought the orange/purple joy cons (Clemson Football fan here)

The joy-cons my fam has bought at $69 have been reliable for about 6m at best. One righty doesn't go up when playing certain games (WTF?) and some lefties are suspect past 10'. What?

So it's totally random but terrible in multiple ways.

We have 2 sets of L/R joy-cons, and although they all "mostly" work, our confidence is about 50/50:

"I got you" = "I was repeatedly pressing A and nothing happened" = "Sigh".

If these have a small shelf-life I'm fine with that. But the cost is ABSURD for such poor quality.

The cost of the joycons are insane. They seem to like they should be like $30 max for a pair. Maybe if they took out the HD rumble thing they would be cheaper to produce.

Just buy a SN30 Pro+, cheaper, better, keep your Switch docked like God intended

I play 100% handheld.

There are a lot of these things out there. Joycons just suck, even for a game like FE3H.

yeah joycons are super expensive. I ditched my Switch 2.0 for my Switch Lite just because I find it so super comfortable and my preferred way to play. I don't miss HD rumble.

Even on Black Friday the price of Ninty branded joy cons were like $50 a piece I think in some places. On sale! Absurd.

Got my split pros today, they are really nice.

Joycons are definitely way over-priced. They shouldn't be more than $50-60 IMO. At least Nintendo has been fixing them for free, but it's annoying to have to go through that at all. What's most frustrating is they still haven't fixed the underlying issue in new Joycons.

Speaking of, I just recently got a pair back that I sent off to Nintendo. Under service performed they put:

Cleaned, tested and inspected all components.
Repaired/Replaced Under Suspicion

I suspect they put that same blurb on every single form, but what is that second line even supposed to mean?

It definitely isn't as awkward as the Joycons. For $8, it's a small price to try out.

^this. If the drift issue didn't exist and the Joycons released originally with a proper dpad there would be far less complaints about these little controllers. I never had an issue (figuratively) with them. I think they're pretty innovative.

I have a tendency to use my right index finger for the "b" button on order to run and use my thumb for right analog stick and in handheld joycon mode it's just not possible, or even slightly comfortable to do.

I'm used to the weird dpad on the joycons. I can play platformers without really any problems
