I think it's the opposite. I feel like the GC controller is very overrated. People are always going on about how amazing it is. I don't care for it much at all, but I do love it for Smash, for some reason.

I wouldn't call it amazing by any stretch of the word, but I'll say the iconic GCN games that used it used it well, and make it feel like it's fine. Like, I've never wanted to plug a Playstation controller into my machine... unless I was playing something like Street Fighter.

I think the GCN controller was the best with triggers up until then, but then most subsequent controllers with that triggers were better (if that makes sense).

It's 30 bucks for Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra. I think he means it's 30 dollars each if you bought both Sword and Shield

I recently got a Mclassic and it is like night day difference with the Switch. My tv does 1440p so the Switch upscales and get the magic post processing.

Looks like they'll be showing off the 5th smash character Thursday 1/16 in a 35 minute presentation

Is the Direct going to just be for the Smash character or are they anticipated to show other things as well? 35min seems like a long time for a character reveal.

I can't find out for sure, but I saw this.

"according to Nintendo. Smash Bros. game director Masahiro Sakurai will hold a livestream on Jan. 16 at 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m ET that will last 35 minutes."

I imagine it'll be similar to the other ones. I'm hoping they explain the next fighter pass and give more info about it

I'd like to see Crono, but I doubt hell make it :(

Well, apparently, Capcom tweeted recently about some DMC news the same day as the direct.

I think the DMC director guy said to keep 2 dates in mind, one of which IIRC was the 16th so Dante is a good bet.

Bioshock trilogy likely coming to Switch. Direct even more likely soon.

Super Mario World (themepark) in Japan looks to be heavily AR based if this wierd video means much.

I've only played a little bit of 1 and 2 and couldn't get into either of them. The gunplay felt really stiff, even by mid-late 2000's standards.

I loved the atmosphere of the first two BioShock games. Infinite was good but I never finished that one. I'd probably get the trilogy on Switch just to have them portable.

I loved BioShock and I'm not a FPS fan. It's more story/atmosphere focused...that being said, not much replay value once you finish so I'll probably pass

I don't have time to play every game I want to play so I have to choose, and if I'm going to jump into a trilogy then MPT is the one I'm going with over Bioshock. Bet we'll see a Mass Effect trilogy at some point on the Switch too. That will be a substantial time sink.

I want many popular 3rd party games to go to Switch, and root for them whether they are in my genres or not. Hopefully, eventually some of the ones I do want show up, and more new ones do as well.

^This. I nerded out on bioshock and read the book Rapture which is a prequel to bioshock one. It's basically an underwater utopia that has gone horribly wrong. The og bioshock is by far the best story of three imo.

I've tried getting into the series, but Infinite's the only one I played start to finish and enjoyed a lot. I might start there if you're looking to see if you're into it.

I know most people enjoy the atmosphere of the first game better, but Infinite was a really nice entry point I think.

I'm not against any 3rd party game coming to the Switch, but it also doesn't mean that I will get excited for ones I don't have an interest in. More Switch releases isn't a bad thing though, shows good health for the system.

Bioshock trilogy was great. 1 and Infinite were top notch storytelling though. Especially Infinite for me. I wonder what the new rumored Bioshock game will entail. I hope Irrational Games is making it and Ken Levine is involved.

2K is still involved, I think. Expect MTX and ads. Probably just a cash grab for the Bioshock name

As someone who has still never played Bioshock 1 or 2, Infinite is one of my all-time favorite games. The setting of Columbia could very well be my favorite setting from any video game, period. From the visual aesthetic, to the underlying malice, to the cultural tension, it all ruled. And then the way that it changed and developed just as the characters did was perfect.

The story is fantastic for the most part, until the themes and message get all wonky in the third act when...

...the characters initially set up as the oppressed civilians of Columbia end up becoming radicals and the primary threat, considering the story goes through lengths to show that they really were oppressed and suffered great injustice. While that is actually sometime true to life, it only works to throw off the story's themes that were established earlier in the game (what with the apple and all). Just sort of a pointless swerve solely for the sake of swerving, and to add a big action set piece at the end.

Seemed sort of like they wanted to go with the more artistic ending with the Comstock reveal but then got cold feet and decided to go the smash-up route instead. Makes sense for it being a video game (and that last battle admittedly was fun), but makes less sense when taking the story as a whole.

But most of the story, including all the Lutece twins and Comstock stuff (especially his ending reveal), was masterfully done. Just wish they stuck that landing.

I did enjoy the twist at the end of Infinite. The DLC for Infinite too was pretty good.
