So, I've tried on my phone, my tablet, and my nVidia Shield TV.
The Shield didn't have any other issues that its controller doesn't already cause, like the Home button being so close to the Pause/Play button. My biggest annoyance is that the keymap flashes on the screen for a few seconds when you first start the game, and then never again. There are a ton of button combinations that you need to memorize that mean absolutely nothing when you've never played the game before. The game also doesn't perform that well, but that's another story.
The tablet has an on-screen keywheel that makes a lot more sense, but it's small, and the icons could use a little more definition. Same performance issues as the Shield, but I think that's just a side effect of running Android apps on Chrome OS, even if the device is pretty high performance.
My phone doesn't have any performance issues, but I also can't get anything other than the menu to respond. I think this requires a gamepad, but I'm not sure.
It seems like a really fun game, and it's got a ton of personality. I just really suck at it so far, and the control issues aren't helping. God bless the Quick Save button.
