Might as well get it started. Who's looking forward to it? I personally think that it could beat PS5, that is if they don't screw up. They need a basic UI, more first party titles, and focus only on gaming. They own the license to Rare games, we need to see new Conkers, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, etc. They did alright with Killer Instinct, I'll give them that, but they're sitting on a lot of games that needs remade, remastered, and sequels.
As far as I know, it's slightly more powerful than the PS5, which isn't a big deal. But what is a big deal is that it will come with more storage. XBSX will have 1TB, which I admit, is not much by today's standards. The PS5 will have 825GB, which is ridiculous. I'm guessing that the next gen games will be around 100gb or more in size on average. If that is the case, I expect the discs will be on 4k UHD blu-rays.

1-Aug-2021(#121)Well, it is true that younger kids are ok with digital. If it's a cheap sub $30 indie game I'm fine with digital. No way in hell am I paying $70 for a digital full priced game though.

I thought I was ok with digital until Sony locked my psn. Amazing that I could do almost nothing with my ps stuff. Now I'm on edge.

3-Aug-2021(#129)I spent a couple hours in The Ascent but am not sold on it yet. It seems pretty good but it's just not clicking with me and I'm finding it tough to determine which items in the world can be interacted with and which can't. So much neon and the pulled-back camera makes it difficult sometimes. I know there's a map but I'm getting lost constantly and hitting dead-ends a lot thinking the shiny thing is interactive (when it's usually not). So that's been frustrating but the world looks great and it plays smoothly.

9-Aug-2021(#136)I was previously stuck in Hellblade due to a glitch about 2/3rds into the game where I couldn't proceed. So I gave up hating the game.
Hearing of the new XSX options I tried it again tonight and the RT stuff was nice but the Performance option felt so much better. And I was able to get past my progression bug so I kept going. It continues to have beautiful moments but it also is still clumsy and super basic.

* 21-Aug-2021(#141)So trying to beat Gears of War 5, on Act 2 I cant seem to find out were to go or better yet open the door, I know kill all the enemies and the next part opens up etc well I cant kill them all cause I couldn't find them all. I hear a whisper every once in a while as I roam around the town and I almost started thinking my robot was infected and going to kill me or try too. Well after a while of roaming around I hear it talk crap again about killing me.........I stop starting zooming in looking around. Dang dude was in a boundary building wall stuck still talking crap yet could barely see him.

I haven't used my Xbox SS in a while as I haven't gamed in my bedroom in a long while and no one wants to buy it so I may try it out. If anyone has what do you think?

21-Aug-2021(#146)I've tried duckstation on PC with my original ps1 discs, the upscaling is awesome. Using it in 4k/60, you might as well say the games are remastered. Certain games don't work as well, like the ones with 2D sprites, Mortal Kombats are an example.

And battle system, lol, I loved morrowind, played the hell out of it.

23-Aug-2021(#160)Yeah, but there is def a balance to be had. Money (lots of it!) is involved. Psychonauts 2 removed bosses from levels (and levels themselves) to try to make launch originally because of their staff and budget. But getting another year or more from MS let them add those back in and much more, and way more polish. This is an absolute luxury in the industry.
Acquiring a studio and then giving them another year of runway is likely not going to net MS a profit in the end. And outside of MS and their GamePass approach, this model doesn't work at all. But now there is an exclusive, and a studio that has been known to get unique titles out, so moving forward it's a great place for Double Fine to be.
