Received an auction I won for some choose your own adventure books. I loved these as a kid. Hoping my oldest will be able to read them soon enough. I have been keeping an eye out for these at thrift stores for years, and amazingly enough I've never actually seen one in the wild. Crazy considering the series lasted nearly 200 editions and had a re-release. I paid less than $2.50 per book shipped. Anymore that's a decent price on paperbacks, and they were in like new shape.

The first (technically) Choose-Your-Adventure book I remember reading was some official Nintendo book from a local library years ago. Normally I'm not much of a book person, but I was enthralled with it.

Ah memories, I enjoyed C-Y-A books as a kid, holding your finger on your current page to 'preview' your 2 choices was fun. I'm sadly not much of a reader now, so I imagine I read more of those books than almost any other series/set/type, even text books.

Thought I had a better deal, but only so due to condition values. I probably shoulda sensed he needed money, but I couldn't pick up, and wanted it delivered. Had it for $120, than $100, than $80, but the first time I saw it, he already had 120 to 100 and it wasn't a day even lol. Anyways, at $80, I proposed fairly, $75 for the lot, and $10 for delivery. He says he's meeting a friend down here, either way, he was willing. Here's what I got:

https://imgur.com/a/T5LsTpR

Unfortunately, I was going to ask about the condition of nfs underground and return to castle wolfenstein, but didn't. The NFS underground game is missing the top flap to the box. Real bummer, I thought I had $50 there. $40 in return to castle wolf. and 20 games, that even at $5 a piece rounded, would be $100 profit. And I could sit at home and list lol. On a positive note, the starcraft game is the shareware version, so prob a $25 profit right there, over the regular version but the one I have listed now hasn't even sold.

Good deal, or just barely. I dunno, the flap bums me out, but half life, I just sold one locally for $22 in a lot with other things. I saw prices have gone cheaper on the original version of Half Life, but I sold the first one I had at $34 CAD + shipping on ebay minus fees. But I really don't have too much money, and I'm borrowing making deals but not selling. What's up with the economy, play some games lol

The gone with the wind part...reminded me of an incident in elementary school where we had an idea to buy tickets to a g rated movie, but sneak into an r. We bought tickets for gone with the wind, and soon found ourselves seated to see gibson's payback. As we sat down, it was starting, but I guess someone commented, because we saw a flashlight and someone that worked there asking to see our tickets. We didn't have them. Asked us to leave, I grabbed the gone with the wind tickets from the ground that were crumpled and went with. They brought us to the ushers as we said we wanted our money back. They didn't want to, but than did, but asked us to leave home numbers. I gave a fake number and my buddy noticed this, and did the same. Ended up going to glendon college with him during high school for some french thing all summer room and board for free too because the government was doing an initiative on bilingualism and my friend's ma caught wind of it and thought it would be fun, but that was enough college, cuz I couldn't hack the plan that was taking forever and going nowhere. Don't know where I'm at now, but as I'm blazin', I'm alright lol

ahh, started to want to buy console, since more gamers for that, and some pc games now taking their time selling:

- The Sims: Bustin Out - Gamecube
- Fantastic 4 - Gamecube
- NHL Hitz 2003 - Gamecube
- Kids Next Door Operation: VIDEOGAME
- NHL 06 - Gamecube
- SoulCalibur 2 - Gamecube
- Monster House - Gamecube
- NBA Live 2005 - Gamecube
- Over the Hedge - Gamecube
- Ice Age 2 - Gamecube
- Pixar Cars - Gamecube
- Spiderman 2 - Gamecube
- MVP Baseball 2005 - Gamecube
- Gamecube Composite Cables
- 1 3rd Party Controller
- GameBoy Player
- Gamecube Power Cable

*3rd Party Controller
** GameBoy Player is missing the GameBoy Player disc required to make it run.

He did have smash bros melee too but not in picture, and with melee I offered $130. He said $120, no melee. I returned with $110, he said no, someone else is coming lol. Guess I was a little weary about selling the game boy player and it not working, since he either put melee for more interest, or sold it seperately. Will be browsing more deals, and hope to post some more console deals, but really, I had to ebay price every game. It was a double up, no doubt and some prob. Guess stepping outside of your comfort zone, you gotta trust the situation, but the gamecube silver was a little beat up, so didn't know about games, who owned it, and if it all worked. I'm weary with electronics but will have to gamble, even consoles, cuz the consoles and computers I played hard on, I always bought new. Meh, back to pc games and more now haha. Another time might be the charm, really haven't done any computer work in a while, and trying to get into it isn't panning out. Just airing out for better times I guess

games were complete except: NBA '06, KND, and NHL '03 didn't have manuals. Could be buying lots up, but really trying to get a better deal. More ads for free games popping up, so the next big deal might be sooner than later. But gotta get my mojo to doing it's dojo routine...and that requires listing things out, buying and selling, contesting, and maybe smoking and singing outside just cuz it's too boring. Some people I talk to I dunno if they noticed cuz I get into my own grooves. Ha ha, these psychotropics are taking me for a ride alongside the weed

just went through the lot that I got delivered last time around, and the box and manual for return to castle wolfenstein is there, but no jewel. Also the upper flap of nfs, ripped off. Thought return was worth more, but now checked the listings, and meh, not making too many good deals of late. Just browse on my free time: contests, game deals, but don't want to do too much else. Won't even enter, and usually I don't want to pick something up cuz nothing too exciting out there. Maybe I should take a break until the first nice day of spring lol. Sounds good!

But I did find battlefield 2 earphones/headphones that are brand new never used in preorder box, opened. Didn't see it online, might be something I don't know what to price. Onto US ebay lol. Thought he had 2 copies of the game

Certainly much better than a regular tv of that era. It has a nice look to it. Chonky shadow mask.

I'm having to tinker with it a bit as there was a discolored line that popped up in the middle. Might need to degauss it. Opened it up and nothing is damaged inside thankfully.

Gave a guy a deal selling locally today, for about 10 games, it was only $35. Gave 2 crysis' for pc for free since I thought it might be linked to steam, cities xl platinum free too, he mentioned he had a 2011 version and the server to play is gone, this was 2012, prob same thing, guess you gotta have faith in those that play games. Still, he gave me $30, than said he'll give me some games. He called and we spent about 30 minutes by phone, cuz he didn't message me what he wanted prior on facebook. Might've been a tactic. Still got nhl 08 in very good condition, and see it sells for about $10. Will be a while before I get my money back, but may be worth waiting. And a cd only copy of war chiefs, the age of empires 3 expansion. He said he'd send me the key. Think it was a fair deal, lots of these games idle, and these games, weren't even on ebay from the first time around of getting them, because I had put them aside. Now I recently did a list of all those, and will send them via mailers, no packages, to cut shipping costs on these games and make them at sellable prices.

Anyways, it's Easter. Too many games, haha. And some people get me a little, as this guy definitely got a good deal, but I was checking prices on ebay and picking the lowest ones, since many didn't have prices online on my ads. Always easier to state a price, post and sell, but with all my lot buys, gotta get rid of some, and give the little guy a bit of a deal too, since I recall selling to stores for quick bucks, but with a lot of games, you can wait til some sell but I def gotta get some more deals. Anyways, best of luck to all. See lots of garage sale goer's and flea market patrons, and it's always a good call to keep an eye on what you know. Lego usually, if cheap, is always worth it, and video game stuff. Other stuff, there's a whole history channel for that lol. My uncle left me lots of his vinyl that he bought at garage sales, and made some bucks selling them. Had lots of classics, but yeah, if you buy and collect, or buy to resale, always something to spot. I'm too lazy, will be browsing online lol

Here's their updated listing:
The power gloves is size M and is in working condition with a slight modification to the strap to fit larger arms, glove was mostly used for display purposes. The sensors have some burns in the plastic but they are functional. The game is in working condition with the sticker only slightly peeling from the top. The manuals are yellowed but all pages are still intact. Box is in bad condition.*PRICE IS FIRM*

So I went to a festival with my girlfriend yesterday late afternoon. When we got there, the library across the street was having a book sale. I didn't expect to find anything, but decided to take a look. I was hoping I'd find a couple of movies or something, had no idea I'd score these...

I'm planning on keeping most of it, as I've been wanting to pick up 3DS/Wii U games, but the stickers really bother me. Each one has library stickers/barcodes, newer stickers covering those ones, and stickers on the spine. I ended up ordering a bottle of un-du off Amazon. Hoping I'm able to at least improve most of these!

Now I ebayed some games, and realized most aren't worth as much. Thought it would be a bigger box with all the games, what I got, and thought the games were big boxes. hey, that I know, have around $100 for the collector's edition BIG BOX. Some collector's are the oversized dvd versions, but still have to look at condition value. Can't ask top dollar. witch king should turn up a $30 or $35 profit maybe. I also have the windows 7 with vista ultimate, that's $100.

But when I saw it, I don't know if I was dreaming, but I was like, there's around $200, and all those games, In Big Boxes, when I got the box, I figured it out, but gotta look more closely lol. I know big box older games are rare, these games, I'll prob leave to sell online locally. Prob not even worth to list the stronghold games alone, I figured if in big box, there's some game comparable to age of empires, maybe a few bucks more, here and there. Prob will get over $400 in value, but prob not sell it all if all there. Still, it'll be some more stuff to list out and dangle. They can always get rare in the process and/or I can do someone a favour and sell a big lot and have someone else sort through it lol

I'll know and post any spoilers when I go through it. Prob no new/sealed games, but I can't read it all from the pics, and have it in a box lol. But I was hoping for like $500 in value. Might not reach it. If not, I'm left with a lot of games. Won't replay any of them, but def need a better hobby for life. Either way, it's kinda fun. Keeps me defused riding round occasionally getting a deal, and also full in terms of feeling like I'm doing something. The world, it's designed in such a way to keep you finite and small. Update: The Battle for Middle Earth II Box and contents...well, it's worth more than $40. Either way, was browsing ebay today, and noticed someone had it listed, the game and jewel, for a pretty retail price, but I thought I could avoid shipping and get it. Got it for $35. Local buys aren't the same as going a bits way. But either way, it's complete, and I will more than likely list it at $200 on ebay. Seems it's at $350 for a better condition box and no manual with cd key to the game, but he's saying it's complete. Will see, might get a taker.

I feel like this is my first ever find of the week post. I don't typically hunt anymore, but I like tinkering with broken systems. Bought a Sega CD model 1 set from ebay in non working condition. The seller said they couldn't get the CD section to power on. Usually, this is a suspect fuse or blown component on the board near the power input. However, in this case, the contacts on the Genesis expansion bay just needed a good cleaning. When I powered it on, to my utmost surprise, this game popped out:

https://offerup.com/item/detail/1219759999

Thankfully the seller did a really good packing job and the disc is in very good shape. I sent the seller a picture and asked where they had acquired the games they were selling. Apparently she is clearing out most of her husbands old gear from the basement. Looking back at some of her sold listings, Neo Aes games, Duo, PC Engine, Saturn, and Dreamcast.

Also noticed desperados 2 in box, and it's got a hefty price tag, the person that has another copy on ebay now. The rest of the games, not sure what I'll do with them. Yeah, seems like I'm in a nursery rhyme mirage sometimes, and sometimes I get out of this picture and enjoy life. But def starting to think life would be better with a good group of friends that you could just stay friends with. Oh well, have smoking buddies, and I do sometimes sing and talk to myself. Get high and try to change the world. Talked about buses with a secluded driver seat and passengers could smoke and socialize. No way they'd do it on roads for other drivers to see haha, but maybe, but I got to see Canna advertising buses that are green right after. Maybe I'm not that crazy, but I just find you're good company too. Maybe sometimes better, cuz you gotta half brain yourself with others, but in this world, you gotta stay free. I don't feel free, I feel in a routine. But I do have some contentment for it, and yeah, it's my mom haha. Just don't always feel like saying mother.

Absolute banger of a day going to yard sales. This is why I wake up at 7am:

image
Big bin of Legos was $25.

image
Kneepads are new and $5, hat was $2. DSi and games were $40. Lady let me know somebody already grabbed the GBA, I guess they looked at the DS and didn't see Pokemon hidden in the case.

image
image
Stopped in at a sale and saw a few 360 controllers for sale. Asked if she had any other video game stuff. Mentioned she had a PS3 that she hadn't brought out yet. Was asking $40, but got her to toss in the ski boot bag as well (was asking $5). Then I asked if she had any games.

"We do but my husband is just going to take them to Gamestop."

I offer her cash of whatever Gamestop is offering so she goes in and brings out a box. Tells me $3 each:

image

Grabbed all of these for $40. All complete. For some reason Wind Waker had a second disc-only copy inside so that was a nice bonus. Probably should have asked if they had any more Gamecube games.

For maybe the first time in like 5 years I found a bunch of vintage Star Wars Kenner stuff. About 20 figures with a two complete vehicles, a battled damaged X-Wing and a battle damaged Tie-Fighter. The figures were missing their weapons but the best one in the bunch was Paploo who is one of the Ewoks and one of the notorious "last 17" figures in the set. FYI EA games from that era sometimes included a blank page with a security alarm sticker, or sometimes even had it stuck on the front insert in a jewel case. So it's not unusual.

I haven't been going to the flea market as much since I'm having money issues, there's been no ebay sales lately and I've been clearing out everything I want to list here next week, but I did find a Fujifilm USB cable for a camera I picked up a month ago. So...I bought a claw machine at the Midwest Gaming Classic. I was there for work and my wife and kids were there. My wife came over and said, "I think the girls would like a crane machine." I took it from there and bid on it at the auction. I think I'm going to retheme it to Toy Story.

After winning I filled it up and put it on freeplay for the rest of the show. My coworkers were impressed by the traffic it brought over, so they ordered one to retheme. We'll be taking it to our future shows.

If you're going for that retro vibe though, I'd highly recommend getting it styled in Pizza Planet colors and decals. Would boost resale value too, since it can cater to Toy Story fans looking for a nice display piece.

Got 2 deals. First was a driver san francisco in dvd case for pc, the other I believe was splinter cell conviction. He wanted a box of timbits for it, but lived 6 hours away. I said, would you ship driver for $8. He said sure. Got back to me that he shipped both, so prob spent $6 on shipping + padded, and still needed timbits, so said $8 to be fair or $10, prob what he wanted. Sent $10 for it. Enroute.

Another deal, though this one is a little more vague. Forgot to snap a pic and he deleted it when I etransfered. Got tracking number. 6 sealed games in boxes. 2 Heroes of might and magic millenium edition, but both different but I know both are heroes, crusader of might and magic, sheep, some virtual I believe pool 2 game, and some airplane or airport game. All of them are sealed in boxes, not mint condition for sure. BUT HERE'S THE KICKER: They Are All Missing Their UPC barcodes. Have been cut out. Paid $25 + $25 for shipping.

Spent $60, making $77 of a local deal, sold some tickets for $51.50 yesterday, barely sold cuz it was running out of time, and I caved and lowered and lowered lol. Won them so whatever. Wasn't a show I really wanted to see anyways. But from the $77 I need $60 to pay my line of credit this month, since I spent that today via etransfer. All in all, May is a month I'm going to try and kickstart more to do, so hopefully, it ends up being alright and good. Also seen a gamecube with mario strikers and zelda collector's edition, and some other whatever game, for $50, but with shipping, and I'm not big on shipping anyways, and I trust myself with pc games. It was in the same vicinity that I got the pc games, but 3.5 hours, did that for the last lot with that oversized LOTR battle for middle earth II game. Not doing that again lol

That's news to me. The claw grip strength can actually be adjusted? Wow. I wonder how many arcade places/bowling alleys/etc keep it on full strength (I don't know if all claw machines are adjustable, no idea).

On a side note, I have to give credit to the Dave & Buster's I've gone to many times in the past. Their claw machine is definitely set to full grip strength. When you play that claw machine, you know that you actually have a chance at winning.

In contrast to one of the lousiest crane machines I've played a long time ago at some convenience store. That claw would drop down perfectly around your prize and then smoothly recede while not gripping the item at all. One of the laziest claws ever.

Correct - those arcade games can be set to payout at pretty much any frequency the owners choose. Mark Rober made a video about the spinning light game - he made a device to stop the light at the exact moment the light would give max earnings. It rarely stopped as it should.

need some help. He wants around $250 for it. I see that emerald is worth near that alone. Good deal. Should I counter at $200 or possibly seem cheap. What can I recoup reselling this. Please reply asap, and let me know. Appreciate it, if you help me out and get it I can send you some paypal soon for some nice treat that you're feeling that would spoil you and make you happy that day. No more than $3 lol. And if not right, I will mail you a ketchup packet.

It's around the $180 mark give or take on ebay CAD value. Sometimes more, usually not less. But I seen some that seem like knock offs, and this cart looked a little like it. If I ever go garage sale hunting, I'll prob miss lots of good console deals. Have data, can always check lol

And PS: I offered $75 for the 4 console games, he said no. I said $110? He replied and I said do they have manuals? I guess he checked, they didnt have and figured I was going to lower the price. Still a bit aways and I don't feel like travelling. Not to mention, there are some snipers for console stuff. I see pc stuff sometimes idling, and have time to pick up no real hurry. Less postings, but at least I usually know my stuff. Was last night, and prob more people messaged about the whole lot. I don't really want a gamecube and the other games he had there. Woke up, no replies, guess he found a better deal for him

Looks like a fair bit of overvaluing/pickiness on his part. If he wants to get what he thinks is a "fair" price, the onus is on him to come up with a number that satisfies himself and the buyer. I personally don't think a copy of Emerald is worth 150 USD/180 CAD, and would be more of a buyer at 60-70 USD for a loose copy with a working battery.

Economics 101, really. If you wanna sell something and are putting too high a price on it (as some resellers are want to do in collector's markets), then he's gonna sit on it for however long it takes him to find a willing buyer at that (arguably inflated) price.

This past December I quit a good job to work for a pinball company. I don't really have an official title, but I'm writing the rules for our next game and helping with game design for the games after that. I'll be able to talk a lot more about it when the title I'm working on is announced to the public.

PS: If anyone happens to have connections with licensing at places like Disney, Nintendo, Universal, etc. I'd love to here from you. Licensing is by one of the most difficult aspects of game design.

I would be surprised if anywhere keeps there claws on full strength. At least on mine that would pretty much guarantee a win on every drop. At least with smaller sized plush. As other have said newer games like this actually have settings where they will not allow a win until so much money has been earned...thus the operator is guaranteed to make a profit, even when there are higher end prizes in the machine.

My work schedule has been a little crazy lately, but I managed to get out to sales a few times in April. Video game hunting has been really hard around here lately, but I've had some decent pickups.

Grabbed these for $15 from a neighbor who collects comics but picks up games on the side. He didn't know how to clean or test these, but I got them all working.

image

In my spare time I help host a monthly cult movie night, and one feature is a crappy raffle at the end of the night where we give out weird/kitschy prizes. I grabbed these for a total of about $5 and I'm really looking forward to handing them out.

image

One of my favorite community sales of the season took place last week, so I took my daughter out and made a day of it. I grabbed the handheld lot for $40 and the N64 lot for $20. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get the GBA and Pac-Man Collection to work, but everything else is in good condition.

image

image

And lastly, some fun little DVD/decoration pickups for my wife and the kids that were $10.

@Gildon_Dancypants If you can't get the GBA working, you can still get a fair bit for it busted on eBay. I was surprised by how much when I sold a few.

There were some garage sales today and I grabbed 18 video games/tv show seasons for $28 total. Nothing really noteworthy.

Got a deal. Not sure how good it really is, but figured I'd ask if he's ever around the area. He said he can come by, so I said, $5 or $10 for deliver. The lot was $10. He said $10 flat.

That's what I got. I know a few people were inquiring about call of duty 4 modern warfare and this has 2 copies. Looked through some sim games, and some had the manuals and keys, some didn't. Don't know how complete it'll all be, the dude said it's his son's, but gave me a fair price. Just had to take it. Also noticed baldur's gate in folder but missing some discs. If it ever gets rarer I can sell individual discs lol. More stuff to sort through soon, and lots less will be up online, as people like to garage sale this kinda stuff I'm sure. Anyways, sharing all my deals of late, kinda like I share most if not all contests I find on another forum. Take it or leave it, I browse pc game deals in my spare and bored time in the lab lol

a package just came in, and the games that were supposed to be new and sealed, just the upc cut out, are in mint condition, prob never played, but open box, with upc's cut out. Def not what I was expecting, bummed out, messaged him, but seems sometimes you get the back end of the stick in these deals with people just not knowing enough about them or listing them incorrectly.

Got might and magic millenium edition, heroes of might and magic millenium edition, crusaders of might & magic, sheep, airport tycoon and virtual pool 2. No upcs, not new and sealed in boxes, just checked out the 2 millenium's and prob will make my money back with the boxes as they are. Might not ask too much for a box, but seems can easily get $30 profit for each without boxes. Can't expect too much all the time lol

UPDATED:
https://www.imgur.com/a/mEckMpk

What I got. Crusader and Virtual Pool seem to be worse condition boxes. Thinking of selling the 2 magics millenium editions with no upcs for $70 CAD or so each on ebay. Think I can get higher? Saw a regular no box sell for $38. Prob will try a little higher, since I see ones with boxes going for a premium. Than again I have a quake team arena and new in boxes seem to be $250 if lucky, $300, and I'm selling one without upc and no bites and it's new and sealed.

The other 4 games, crusaders, pool, sheep and airport, I'll prob chuck the boxes out and sell the contents. Crusaders, airport and pool are sealed jewels.

EDITED AND UPDATED AGAIN: checked US ebay, and seems the heroes one is rarer than the other. Also doesnt help that someone put 2x the value on a complete in box with strategy guide might millenium and it sold prob immediately lol. Meh, will try. I might need to look at US ebay more closely and align all my prices on the stuff that hasn't sold yet. Some I may even raise, but prob not

Happy to see another person interested in big box PC, and especially Might & Magic. I've been trying to complete my M&M collection, can't find the elusive big box for Heroes of Might & Magic II GOLD Edition. Prices are rather all over the place due to scarcity. I've seen some big boxes by themselves fall through the cracks and go for little. Finding an average is difficult enough for the games themselves, let alone a box or manual on its own.

I'm not sure when that person left, but I know I was doing something else, and it was one of the last trades. I think when I got back on, and my account was still active, he might've already disappeared and was inactive, so could never fix it. I think I wanted to after it lingered for a while, but did send I'm pretty sure. Can't really remember exactly that long ago but I think that's what happened.

As for games, yeah, I find a lot, but I recently found lots of good console deals. Guess what, no replies. Must be long dead or already pending when I get around to them. So I'm stuck with what I know, pc games. They're usually on for longer than the average console lot lol

tarzanpat

6-May(#146)
And as for pc games, played a lot of them. Picked these ones without the upc, but all are like new inside. Will prob put the might and magic millenium @ 50 or 55 CAD, and put the heroes at $70 - $80. Unsure if it'll sell missing the upc, but if I make double off those 2 (paid $50 shipped, and $120 on ebay is around $100 for you), I can prob get another $50 or $60 from the 3 new jewels. I might give the boxes without upc's away locally (except the milleniums), don't want to waste them, but have no room to keep spare boxes, well, I could make them flat and put them where I keep the boxes. Big fan of pc games even though I don't play. Yesterday saw a working slim ps3 and xbox 360 no cables, but worked with like 100 for ps3 and xbox 360 games, jurassic park the game stuck out for xbox 360 but man he wanted $125 for it all. Missed it too. Would have been a lot of $5 or so games to list, but back to the pc drawing board. Maybe console deals are for others lol, since I gotta do more research but am getting better at figuring out what's a good deal or not. Maybe I'll post one at some point. Good deal hunting to y'all, and yeah, garage sales are hitting. Sometimes they post them online, and say if they got games or not. But I take it you gotta be there early from what I hear. My uncle wants me to collect some vinyl for him, garage sales seems like the only place for good deals on that. We'll see. Staying comfortable waiting for more warmth. Can't take things too seriously, but need to catch up from some slacking. Summer months for better deals, and more fun all around!

I got a bunch of cheap dvds and blurays again today. Nothing really noteworthy but all 25-50 cents. The last sale I hit they were 50 cents but everything was like new, or still sealed. I recall I used to send cd's and dvd's in bubble mailers for at most $7, prob $6. Now they have to go as media mail, and it's around $11. Some people still say they're sending letters and send cd's/dvd's, but yeah, if buying a lot of stuff, the package is around $30 prob. A system and games, might be $35 or $40 even. It's definately not helped my selling, as some things I try to sell to Canucks for $2.20 lettermail if under 100 grams, and $3.60 if over 100 grams. All singles usually fall in either. Can't really compete elsewhere, and haven't gotten used to claiming it's a letter and getting it sent cheap. They know me, I only ship media, I'd prob have to go to another post office lol

PS: Think I got the deal. He replied with address, I just asked for cell number that I could text upon arriving. Either busy or at work by his reply times, but all good

I recall, and it was on gtz, I sent something that way. And it had tire marks, I wanted restitution from Canada Post, but too much hanging around, I just let it be. I refunded the person, but the lettermail had tire marks on it, and game was crushed. Hasn't happened in a long time. Guess things are getting better, including the post. Got the deal. But before I was going to leave, I messaged about a wii game lot, than saw she had a ps3 lot, a ps2 with cables and controllers all for $25 each and a red wii in box for $50. Said I'd take it all, to cut me a little deal. When I got back, she had 11 listings, down to 3, never got back to me, and i left my cell.

But a little out of the city, I scored a deal that I thought I missed, but was still available. Guess people like big things they can easily flip for double or more, and big titles. Seen lots of people selling low cost games, and all the marios are gone lol. Don't mind going a bit aways sometimes, but lots of work listing it all down the line, I'm sure lol. The CD drives on those OG PS3's were finicky AF iirc. Not sure if replacing the drive will be easy.

Ripping them to a computer would be the best way to figure out if they work.

I swapped a few drives out about a decade ago. I remember changing out some 80gb bc systems, but probably not the 60gb og. Hopefully nothing too broken with this one. I do recall needing to remove the pairing board before getting to the drive itself. A lot of wires/ribbon cables in that machine. I still love it though. It's too bad most of them need to be refurbished at some point. I don't see myself buying a reball station, so hopefully de-lid and some capacitor replacing will do the trick to keep these ones alive.

Dark Stalkers, MK3, and Golden Axe were beyond saving. In my experience, some games that rip okay still end up not booting up. But thanks for the tip, always nice to have alternative options to check.

Just took a look at some of my last buys. There was a Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2 in there for xbox 360 so that's a bonus. Skimmed (but have no real knowledge, didn't check online), but seemed like some commons, some maybe uncommon in terms of pricing, but maybe I'll get surprised as an older $25 + game has to be somewhat rare, or rare in that it's collectible or people want it on their shelves and in their drives.

The ps3 slim is a CECH 4001C so I assume it's also got 500gb. The Xbox 360 S console 1439, says it's either 4gb or 250gb, but prob the latter given the ps3, but will have to boot up to check. Sent a message for someone selling a ps3 controller if they ever make their way down here. It's $10 and I didn't ask if the sticks rotate around without sticking or if all the buttons press on and don't get stuck. Either way, they both have their power cords. 3 controllers for the 360, but one controller's missing battery in pack and closer lid. Assuming 2 work, will just toss one in free. Thinking it's gotta go on the bay, as I checked some local prices and they're all over the place. Oh yeah, the ps3 might not be that collectible as it's got a tiny dab of pink nail glitter that doesn't seem to want to come off. Either way, good find. Thanks to the posters that said def a go. Darkfact and Gypsy, but I think I messaged right after DarkFact confirmed. Don't have any paypal now, but should get something to sell soon via that method and will send you a few CAD dollars for a cold treat, assuming it's cold now. Did say that before, so I guess I gotta keep at it. Don't mind, it just cemented the deal, and checking it out, it's def a deal.

Just reminded myself of the count, 25 ps3 games, 34 xbox 360 games. Might take 2 weeks since I get paid one way for selling certain things, but you - DarkFact- will get a cold treat, either a soda, and or you can always have yourself a small joint. But at my cost, and at that price, you'd have to buy an o, or the shred stuff in 7g bags that's already grinded up for you lol but only about a .6 out of it. So prob a soda unless you smoke already lol. Either way, I like to treat with freebie coupons, but don't have those anymore, and always give free drinks I get for free that I don't want to drink from promotions like the circle k coupons. Buy an iced tea lol

It varies with some peeps too, one guy owes me a pack of cigs, and another guy's been giving me joints that I gotta spark him up or get him a few grams of some premium store stuff. Just the up and down not that I'm doing such a good thing, just will need help in the future, and quick replies are the way to go. If someone knows they're getting a soda or whatever, they'll take the time to reply and or fill out the form or go into the store to redeem...we're not on strings, but we all need something good from a stranger once in a while. We're all in this together and nice things go a bit away from the norm since it all seems so fast paced like we're in a line getting pulled through where everyone is going, but everyone in front is a ghost, and the people behind talking to each other. It's good to benefit everyone, but it's the norm to have a good time with someone over something you all enjoy. Short lived times are what gets the fuses brimming and fuming for adjusting how we're to layer and clockwork into this. The last 2 paragraphs have been edits, and seems I'm almost out of cigarettes but have to write something somewhere, guess it's trivial, but Imma bunned but not to the max so I'm going to be up for some more until it seems there's nothing else to do. Not even write somewhere to some people somewhere but here all in the dark, and going outside to be a little loopy smoking more and sometimes treating this like a show and tell but the guess who clockwork of it tells you who to talk to whenever, does it change like musical chairs, or do you need to start talking to people and seeing if they're alive and well. Haven't started a conversation in a while with a total stranger, anyways, that's my tidbit for the day. Stay safe and enjoy life

Cost $58.94, more than I'm happy with. I'm a big fan of the poster and manual, which is why I was willing to pay this price. The poster has a tear, but a little tape on the back will make it satisfactory, and it got me a lower price.

lol, I remembered when I was chilling with someone in my youth. He said his dad would take $100 from him, if he wanted to take a day off school. So when he did, he blazed and blazed and enjoyed it. What's $100 bucks, when you're trying to get a vibe for the summer, to mission all the way there. If things weren't hectic, but meh. I'm a little too free to want to chase money. It's getting to the point where you can make $50 or $100 off a lot of little deals, but I'm not selling, so why buy up and waste the day. Got enough to list out, will caress my head into a groove for the summer. Will still have to hustle so to speak selling and making ends meet. But I feel my staycation is reaching vacation like rest, so I'm not about to go ruin the vibe for $100. It's a day amongst days, and I know she won't ship. She expressed it so. So I doubt she'd drive to deliver when she wasn't even expecting to post these online for sale. Ahh, a clue, not a good one. Will have to find and buy a deal, and maybe I'll share this tactic but prob not. Will try for a few deals this way lol

Will leave it to one. Sometimes, get a little out there, but trying to just get from some winter to chilly spring staycationing with limiting the routine, to a good summer vibe that'll last the year and get hotter and brighter each summer. Than again, what thread that deals with a potenial deal to potentially being a deal, why is that intermission leading to not this topic. Isn't this topic the lone deal finder one, and if it's potential, it's on the way to becoming a deal. Anyways, not ranting, just unsure where I'd ask. But it's obvious some people take gaming too seriously, and by being serious, how are they ever going to laugh without their nerves sounding like they're being tickled. Off to more deals, but not today. Sold a boxed game today, happy. Will try to limit my posts to more conciseness and targetting the find. Guess I can learn to do it on my own, but will ask if it's a bigger lot to double check.

Had a great day today. Got a huge box of around 30 Play Station 1 games all complete in box. Best games of the lot were: Parasite Eve II, Um Jammer Lammy, Wild Arms 2 and a factory sealed copy of 007 Tomorrow Never Dies. Picked through a dirty box of SNES games at another yard sale and pulled out the best titles which were: Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Mario All Stars, Doom & Super Tecmo Bowl III

Keep an eye on my available list in the coming days since I'll be adding most of those games to them.

It's in great shape. I've been wanting to play it for several months, since it's an obscure Nintendo game with a unique gimmick: using your DS Lite as a mouse by plugging in the adapter! To the Good Samaritan who gifted it to me: You've been stylish!

Went in on a deal, that was quantity and not quality really, but still playable stuff. Now I'm thinking too much. He mentioned he wanted it sold and had it up for 5 days before I inquired, I said can you ship. Did it all. His name is right since I sent. But he hasn't marked it as sold, I let it be, saying he might've meant he'll mark it as sold when he ships. And that's today in about an hour. I guess I'm holding off, but I usually trust people. He's from a place that's a military base, and seems to have feedback there.

Guess I'll let it play out, just feeling a little blurred by that. Will await, and than share the deal if it indeed is coming. Otherwise, I might be shortfused for a bit of coin, but if microsoft pays out the claim since apparently some are getting notifications of checks. I don't want to be even, 2 home runs, or at least base hits lol. Hope no foul, just prob a busy guy and will ship, I'm always thinking something when things don't go my way. I gotta let up and enjoy life, it's meant to be shared, with at least some friends, and maybe a toke or two or a couple of j's lol

Didn't even really look up prices, but thought it was a great deal at $30. $30 for shipping, it's only 15 or 25 minutes under 2 hours one way. So $60 total. I guess I might do something with it, unsure, might have gotten into not such a great deal, but I figure I know my pc games, nothing really stood out, but said, take it.

Got into trouble on buyee. To my surprise it showed up today. The fighters, Ippo, Dark Souls set were all bought individually. 23 of the games were won in a lot for like $12. I got the plat on Demons Souls Japanese version. All the voice acting was still in English. However the menus/text wasn't.

As far as the map, was it a Japan exclusive? I have the US collector's edition, but don't remember seeing that in there. But I did buy it used, so not sure.

This is like an LE of Prepare to Die edition. I don't think Prepare to Die PS3 in Europe had any extras. So there probably is an original Japanese collectors edition that is fairly close to the US CE.

I am expecting full Japanese menu text on Dark Souls as well but I haven't put it in yet. GTA V and some of the sports games have had full english options.

I passed up on a gamecube lot, because of not being mobile, but now thinking for the future, could've taken an uber. In 7 games, I would have had at least $100 profit. Had mario party 5, 7, kart, golf, zeldas, kirby air ride, that's all I remember, complete with booklets. This guy must have collected all the right games, and didn't know values, or someone else was selling them for him, and he gave a number. Anyways, missed out on it. It was $300 so not cheap, but like 30 games prob, or just a couple under.

But on my last pc game deal, seems I can get all if not most of my money back on the chronicles of riddick pc game, as well as crysostasis. Maybe $5 or $10 under, but I paid shipping. Usually don't count gas. So prob a good deal at worst. I sold a chronicles of riddick for way too cheap seeing the prices now, but whatever, sometimes even I give good deals. Sometimes it seems I sell right before it rises haha. Oh well, not into collecting, but did save a couple of games to add to my collection from some of the lots I bought. Oh no, getting the collecting bug. Or just eyeballing some, and thinking, if this is something I'd play, we'll see where it goes. But I don't play.

Anyways, not sour on the gamecube deal, but am now thinking there could have been $500 even $700 profit, and I didn't try for it. Didn't check the other games, but guess like I said, I like my pc games. Getting better at finding all sorts of deals, so not limited to pc games, but sticking to video games for now.

Just like we have weebs who demand all their games be in Japanese, there are westaboos who want their games voiced in English. Go figure.

Oh I agree.

And the English voice acting isn't half-assed. Sure there's some weird lines, but most of it is very good.

Yeah, it adds to the atmosphere for a game that is clearly heavily influenced by western gothic themes. I don't think it's weird, I think it's a smart choice and probably a big reason this vein of games has always been supported in Japan, it's so different.

For us, it's just "lol hard af" (and all that lore to read when you die)

15 games came uncomplete from my pc lot. Not bummed out, got some steelbooks, I think 4, and some I have case and cover and cd key, but no cd, about 2 or 3. Only really 9 or so I was expecting complete, that came missing a cd key most often. Sometimes just missing the key. Still will profit, but can't be jumping hoops with these deals. Guess it's alright, life is rolling, and I'm still having trips in mind that feel like they could be made into a video game or movie. Lol. Guess the storyline in all the games was always a little bit off, we're all just human, but once you start weaving into your own code, you start riddling incompletely your destiny, which in all right retrospects has been grounded by fate, in what way you can still fall or fail. I'm too positive, not thinking I can do it all alone, so the balance in the people, and this world that freezes and rinses the body with blowing air and water. We should be fire and let out the cold from our brains, but than we'd still be parted. Living the good life, how do you get lost and let go and find something more, all in this time period of life left standing and trifling about with affinity for trolling around and seemingly consciously paging back the same old rhetoric in the same old routine. What's this song and dance, I gotta fly. Anyways, what can you do, still make good deals, and x-men origins is missing manual but doesn't have cd key I believe, so should make me $40 or so alone. Will def double up, prob even triple up, but quadrupling it is possible but some stuff prob won't sell. Just a feeling, haven't done any math...equations in a while...equating the balance of the universe. Depending on myself too that I haven't led myself astray and gotta keep up doing and jumping through hoops lol

I managed to land this awesome haul for just $60.
[imgt w=2048 h=1536]https://i.imgur.com/1r6dNm7.jpeg[/imgt]

The site I use to find interesting garage sales has become more difficult of late. There's a bully troll on there who I recently got banned for months of poor conduct, but as you'd expect, he created a new account with the main goal of being an obstacle for my gaming hunt. Given his deceitful nature, I can't tell if he wants to buy every decent game out from under me or if he just wants to gaslight me into thinking he's already done it. It's obnoxious, but he'll dig his own grave pretty soon and get banned again--it's his habit.

I struck up a conversation with the seller of this Atari Lynx last night, asking if I could reserve it for pickup. The troll knew there wouldn't be a way to stop a successful agreement, so before we'd formally settled on an offer, he tempted her into demanding a three-figure price to drive me away. (He did that at 3 AM, to show you how dedicated he is.) The honorable woman stood her ground and told us both that she wanted a flat $40 for it, with some games thrown in last-minute for $5 apiece. I checked a dozen times at work to make sure he wasn't interfering with my negotiations, and I successfully reserved this haul. I had to describe my work uniform and model/make of my car so the dude couldn't pretend to be me.

The Lynx works just fine, though the journey home seems to have jostled battery corrosion around the screen. Anyone know a good way to clean that? I've tried Blue Lightning an Warbirds, not Chip's Challenge or Checkered Flag.

That's pretty sick for a boxed Lynx. The system sucks and the games are awful but you don't see one in that condition very often. The lady was nice for not indulging the jerk but I definitely woulda stuffed a couple more 20s into the wad.

The best offer I was willing to make was $70 for the system on its own, but I was also stuck using whatever dollars I had in my wallet right out of my shift. When I got there, I was too stunned that I was actually getting the Lynx to throw around numbers. The seller cleans out old houses for a living, so she wasn't parting with any cherished item; she said she wanted it cheaper, since that would guarantee she sold it. I thanked her vehemently for not price-waivering and repaid the favor by advertising her replica sword collection to an interested friend.

Did you let her know you are basically interested in any video games/consoles? I had a good deal going with a guy that did this many years ago. I paid him enough over the game stores here that it was worth his time (plus I took consoles as is, no testing). I got well over 20 consoles from him. Mostly PS2s but one time a Saturn lol.

Not pictured are the Snorlax/Ditto transforming plush ($2) and Drill Dozer ($75) that I'm selling to a collector here. The Mario Party 4 box is sadly empty, but it was only a buck and came with a few random bits and bobs. Every PC game (so most of this stuff) will be available for purchase or trade.

Not a major score, but still a pretty decent one. Was drawn to the dvd box from the nasa box set as it was complete and in pretty condition. Found a bunch of fun dvds to add back to the collection and a few decent sealed stuff on the left. Not a bad haul at all for 15.25 She also through in a pair of mens 11 running shoes, 5 green scrubbies, 10 bottles of hydrogen peroxide to boot.

I believe I had this on PSN digitally back in the PS3 era. Happy to have a physical copy of some kind. One of the few non-Mario sports games I can actually dig raspberry

Yesterday I ran into a guy selling blu-ray's for a buck each. He had these Funimation anime sets as well as the out-of-print Once Upon a Time in America. When I asked about the anime stuff he just said everything was a dollar, so I grabbed what he had as well as some nice HD upgrades for my movie library.

I don't usually flip stuff, but if I can sell those anime sets and that copy of Once Upon a Time, I can stock up my flea market funds for a few months.

I reached out to her about an arrangement, but she has not responded. Maybe she doesn't check the site I posted on very often, maybe she's focused on selling her current batch of wares, or maybe she's totally uninterested. I wrote down her location, so I could visit her after the sale and ask her personally. Though that's a lot of gas to spend for a yes or no question.

Went to the local gamestop to sort an online order issue. They got the situation resolved and I have an open but at least complete copy of the game I bought.

Figured I would look while I am there and snagged an NCAA Basketball 10 for $30.

Japanese sellers always pack their things well. Ordered two figures from Japan, and got PLENTY of bubble wrap, lol.

I've never been disappointed by packaging from Japanese sellers. Only exceptions were non-Japanese resellers living in Japan.

The package I got from Buyee recently had enough bubble wrap to make a fort.

Cost me 150 pesos ($7.50 USD.) It seems to be complete, except for the game. I figured this was gonna be a lot cheaper than buying one off of eBay, and I was gonna have to get one of these sooner or later anyway...

this man sent me this pic, and is asking $3 a game. I didn't ask for all price. Please let me know if this is a deal, as it's not close, and might have to fork over some shipping. I forgot about the paypal thing, had it, paid for something, grrr. I owe someone a cold soda or something. Maybe soon, I'll get some paypal. Yeah that lot was worth it. It's possible but very difficult for $3 a game to not be worth it, in general. Like I wouldn't pay that price for a lot of bulk atari carts.

long story on this one. He was to come, it was priced at $28, so I offered $25 + $5 for delivery. Was pretty close, but when he got here, we noticed it's only disc B, there's gotta be an A. He found it, so I said I'd come pick it up, and didn't go back to my inital offer. Whatever, took it. So paid $30.

today, my mom picked something up for me that was posted as free:

https://www.imgur.com/a/JNxZ9So

it was nearby, so no real hassle. Wanted contactless and left it at the front door. There's 2 c&c jewels, one for original c&c and expansion, and one for red alert and expansions. Didn't see cd keys unsure if they were in manuals in this or on the back and I just didn't glance at it, just mostly checked cds inside if seemingly complete

I found the listing. She doesn't browse or know too much. I just messaged last night, and picked up next day. Didn't feel like going, and it was like a 10 minute drive from here and not by highway, on regular roads. I wish I had some people that knew some games. Than again, I'm a PC head. Had some console deals recently pass because I'm not that keen on them.

Though yeah, she's ok to ask for favors sometimes, but than again, sometimes she expects too much. And I'm not that young anymore, give me a break lol

I managed to score Super Smash Bros. Melee (CIB) and Banjo-Kazooie (loose) for $60 total today. I've got Melee up for grabs if anyone's interested, but Banjo's staying with me--I'll put it up in my family's northern lodge for future fun with my nieces.
@benstylus "It's so good, I'm selling it!" wink

Prices at the sale were worse than the owners had let on. I would've bought several Super Mario Land games if they weren't $20 each. I'm also sad that I was unable to buy PUNCH-OUT!! Wii from a different sale despite arriving there before anyone else. The owner had sold all his listed Wii games before the sale even began, which is lame. That's one of those games that you can't expect to find at a garage sale, and when you see someone walk away with it, you somberly acknowledge that you'll never find it again.

was up late one night, trying to find deals, and they didn't reply til morning. One was a 10 game big box lot for $100, but 4 hours away, so I asked for shipping. Had quake team arena, morrowind collector's edition, a need for speed game, sim mania pack the 8 game pack, and 6 games were over $50 on ebay, the other 4 didn't check but prob under. Still was like a $300 - $350 lot at least. Said someone local was interested, so prob had 2 replies by morning and preferred not to ship. I guess I might do the same. Than I tried for a ps3, found one with games worth about $50 plus the ps3 and 2 controllers and charging cable. No go. Didn't even get a reply. It was $100, thought I could counter and get it at an awesome price.

Than I had someone reply to me that I asked for a pic. Sent this:

https://www.imgur.com/a/IQKpILC

He was a 20 minute drive and said he wanted $100 for all the games there. I said sure, was browsing lots yesterday, and saw one in pickering for the same price, and much less and worse quality. Didn't even do the math, just said, I'm in lol. So some deals didn't go through, but got at least 1. How much more listing lol

Wanted to edit, but will add. I just went through the games lightly in the $100 lot I got, and out of 5 or 7 games, all were in there. I also noticed star wars best of - 5 game combo is sealed, as is another game. Didn't go through it all, but finally feels good to get in on a good deal. It's worth about $30 on it's own, and I can prob keep it as I'm kinda looking to start keeping a few games I buy up lol. Don't know if a good idea. Also 3 vampire masquerade but they are all eu editions. $10 a piece I guess, so like $60 for 4 games. And I got 72. Oooo-aa. Lol, I gave a girl on a motorcycle a joint yesterday. Guess all those joints I sometimes give up late at night are paying off, ha ha, nah, just good karma and keeping busy.

To add, the shipping, I messaged him today, about another deal over the weekend, just 4 games for that price, and he replied immediately, but said he'd ship in a few, I thought hours, but usually I feel better when they ship. It was only 24 bucks shipped, but I always think: what if this guy hacks fb accounts, what if he got one and heard on a forum ppl pay up for games. Than again, he has puppies for sale, and today said he's walking the puppies and is with his son. I'll let it be, but want to get on it, in case it is a scam to be early. I always can recant the most ludicrous crazy tale that people are still lowlives. We all rise from the low roads, but still, sometimes, it doesn't let me be. I'm fine with this, but I mean, I want the games lol.

I managed to get to a few yard sales in the last couple of weeks, and even found some stuff! The most important part, however, was that my kid did NOT puke all over the car while we were out, which is what prevented me from yard saling three weeks. It's the little victories that make life worth living.

Grabbed these Wii games for $5. I kept Tetris and the rest went to a friend of mine looking for stuff for her kid to play.

image

I met a guy who was clearing out stuff from his wife's old photography business and I bought a mini-chaise lounge for $10. My cat has decided it's her new throne, which is exactly what I hoped would happen.

image

A bunch of CDs from my teens/early 20's for $2

image

Found a Vive HTC headset for $30 a few streets over from my house. It's lacking the base stations but beyond that it's complete. Who knew that the only thing keeping me from being interested in VR was finding it at a yard sale?

image

And lastly, on Memorial Day a friend sent me an ad for a nearby sale so I figured I'd swing by. I grabbed the XBox games for $5, then the folks there mentioned they found a bunch of 8-tracks in the drop ceiling from someone who used to live there. They brought them out while I was sending pictures of some furniture to another friend, and lo and behold it was actually cassette tapes! I have a buddy who still listens to cassettes, so I grabbed the lot of them for $20. If he doesn't want them I'm sure I can find a good home them, and I figure I can at least use the racks they came in to hold my Genesis games.

Here's the deal, I bought 4 games for $4 each + $8 for shipping. He said he lives on a reserve and his dad get even better rates due to the business. He said he'll be in touch, and provide transit, transit is for banks, I said tracking? I paid on Saturday. I messaged him at around 11 am, and he still hasn't gotten back to me. I checked the page and 19 views on kijiji, but he also posted on fb. I thought $8 for shipping, I told him to put it between cardboard and send that way to make shipping reasonable. Now that he's not replying, makes me think a) he's busy, he has a life, more so than me, the kid waiting on some games - b) he's out of things to say and will delay saying it's shipped than without tracking than maybe it'll be a burned game or not even send lol. I dunno makes me uneasy, the situation now. Not only that, but his name is a man arrested for porn charges in Vermont. I doubt it's the same dude living on a reserve, but he may just be buying time and egging me on.

Can't do much, it's $24. Won't file a report but maybe post under scammers online, flag him down. Also will post on kijiji at least that this is a scam don't fall for it. I sometimes think the best of people, but when things don't go as planned, I guess I can't do nothing but think something is up. Wait today til he replies, if he doesn't reply, than flag it and let him know that you're flagging it for thinking it's a scam?

Normally though, people get at me, and say they've shipped. And it usually happens in a timely manner. Maybe they're native-living, kinda like a Jamaican lifestyle, I tend to think that too, see the good in everyone, but this one seems different so it's throwing flags, and he replied within a minute yesterday, and today, no contact. Maybe he's agitated I said I thought you'd ship in a few hours, Please ship today, Appreciate it, Thanks. But i dunno.

The best thing to do in any situation is be patient, people have their own lives and don't march to the beat of your drum, man. It sounds like you got a little impatient due to being used to having people ship out within hours or a day of a deal closing. Maybe take a step back and relax?

Yeah, I would, but he said he'd be in touch. DIdn't mentin Monday. Now it's Tuesday, and he's not replying. Everyone wants to stand up for the person that seems to work and has a kid, but it's probably that it costs a buck a beer there, and he wanted a 24-pack lol. Either way, I'm not too bummed out. Guess the lesson is on me lol. He said he's busy with moving, but said to send me the email, and he'd send me the money back

the $24 was for rise of the witch king in oversized dvd case, the thing in jewel, dark forces in jewel and shogun total war (wanted this since I have a box with jewel but it's missing a disc). Now I just need the answer and will collect my money back. Usually people that have my money know it's courteous to reply or at least let them know when to ship. Guess this guy isn't a sales guy or maybe he is just doing his thing, either way, I let it be. Not getting the games, but will get my money back. Silly me I guess. Impatience is one thing, but I may understand people more, but I just sit at the computer too long, it's not even about my way or something, I just feel how is it possible not to reply, even if working, married, whatever, etc etc.

Not all is bad, I guess I always think if you consume alcohol, you're either partially dreaming or you're going against the world in some way. True, need to find yourself and finetune life, but I find smoking gives me those elongated thoughts, sometimes strange no doubt, but let's me be.

Anyways, out of the $100 lot I bought, 23 games are new and sealed. Going to be Alright. Lol. Missed out on that other deal, but I guess he wasn't an online seller, and I pushed it to the gas, that there was nothing left but get the refund. Maybe another time, but really, I got too many games now. I'll prob miss the next good lot, even for pc, cuz I'm going to try and get into some other things, and list it all out during the weekend or next week. Hopefully, the summer drift can take me away and I can just float aimlessly apparently lol

Edited: Also came with a Star Trek 25th Anniversary Nintendo game with box and manual. He mentioned he had some console games, than reverted saying he sold them. I'm ok with pc games, I know what I'm getting into it. Console deals are more, but maybe after the summer, a few typing of each console and game after it, and than checking finished listings from high to low, should get my head into some mode to buy more console games, maybe at some point. I dunno if the info will stick lol

I'm trying to get away from tedious things on the computer. But today, I was like no, don't look, if there is a purchase, your head will be clockworked and it's got to unwind to do something. No idea if that makes any sense lol, but yeah, browsed and came across a Star Wars Shadows of the Empire new in box for $40. I said $35 but asked him to hold, fearing someone else may try to get it and pay full price, I said $40 is good. I seen a sold listing of a german manual game sealed for $92 CAD. I guess the english version, with the prices the way they are now, I guess I could comfortably ask $120 or even $125 and sell in a reasonable time. So like $60 profit, and it was real close. My mom was out and about, so she picked it up for me. Guess I still owe her that nice dinner, gotta get some money and order in or go out lol.

I may miss one of the best deals of my bargain-hunting life. There's a guy in a nearby town who seems to be selling a NEO GEO, "a Sega system with a CD player (probably a Sega CD, but could be a CDX), and eight boxes of assorted retro games. I arranged a reservation for them, but he's pretty bad about responding. A power outage forced him to delay the sale until next week--when I'm out of town. My Dad will be home, but he works at the time the sale runs. It hurts, truly!

Maybe I can get a friend in the area to drop everything and pick it up for me? It's a stretch, but it could happen. Otherwise... dang it.

His sale should have been running for the past half-hour, but he only posted the street where he lives, not his home address. My friend explored the street and found nothing. Very odd stuff.

Makes me wonder if this seller is an alt account by the Garage Sale Finder troll who hates me. It's held in the same town where he's confirmed to have lived, and he has no life beyond worsening people's hobby hunting, so it's not far-fetched. Of course, the troll likely would've used Nintendo games/systems to entice me, not NEO GEO. The writing style also doesn't read as condescending, either. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

Could be someone that is trying to sell off the collection of a family member and then said family member found out. I have...actually had this happen when trying to buy things a couple times. Once was for a ton of anime.

So else probably convinced him to sell it before the sale, or he found out what it was worth

Just grabbed this bundle off CL. Fun story:

image
image

See a post on CL, all for $65. I message him about 10 minutes after posting and based on the location of listing I tell him I can meet him in 15 minutes. We agree and he gives me an address to meet him at 4pm.

While driving to the location I get an email:
"Hey, please wait until 5pm before coming, I need to test and make sure everything works."
Weird, why wouldn't you have tested it before listing? Either way, I couldn't care less if the system works or not so I decide to call his bluff (as I know exactly what is happening).
"No need to test, I'll take it all as-is. I'm about 5 minutes away, see you soon."

Sure enough, I was right on the money:

"Hey, don't mean to be a jerk but someone offered $100, could you match that?"

Thankfully I do actually carry cash in my wallet so I had enough. So he was going to wait until 5pm to "test" everything and then let me know it didn't work and not sell it to me because someone offered him more.

Anyways, the PS2 is modded and I know nothing about console mods. Obviously I am not going to try and sell it here, but any idea on the value? He let me know the memory cards have to stay in for it to run - can it be used as a regular PS2? I think the program was OpenHCD or something like that.

Full disclosure: This more from what I read than from experience, as I went with a fat PS2 and modified it with an IDE drive using the expansion bay, but I know that one way to mod a slim is to sacrifice a memory card to use as an SD card adapter. Alternatively, you can use a USB flash drive. Either way, you should be able to use it like a regular PS2 without any problems.

I've seen similar, with the mod is only a tweaked Mem card, was actually seeking to buy one and try it out but sort of forgot about it and have enough games already...

@Porksta the standard ps2 memory card soft mod is freemcboot. But last I knew that didn't work with late model slims, so it's probably something else. With all of these mods, the PS2 itself is completely stock so you'd be good to sell it as a normal PS2. It's possible you can get someone to pay you for the modded memory card. Once you know what mod just check eBay and see if people charge a premium for them there.

If you post a picture of the menu with the memory card in, I can probably tell what it is for sure. I've never heard of OpenHCD.

@Bleed_DukeBlue The usb option has a ton of compatibility options. I think we might have talked about this before lol.

@Slickriven I've sent some to people here for the cost of a regular memory card. It's not hard to set up but you do need some specific stuff last I knew, but it could be even easier now. I haven't looked in a bit.

Thing is, he cancelled an entire garage sale with a lot of clothes and toys. It's not like the games were the only thing he was trying to get rid of. The sale page mysteriously shut down, too.

I was trying to buy a cheap ps3 lot, to have a controller to fully test out my other ps3 and possibly include a controller with it as well. Had a couple, but I noticed the trend. Cuz someone replied saying, there's someone adding $10 to the lot price, and trying to pick them all up over the weekend. Prob makes a full day of collecting all his deals, and just adds to the pile of good lots so they can be saved. I recall for a pc lot, I said I can offer more, he said no way, so there are fair people. Some don't know value, than they're surprised, and if they are about the money, why in the heck didn't you look up the value online than? Guess they do it like me, browse the lowest price and list. Either way, I gotta keep peeled for a ps3 lot or ps3 with controllers for cheap and maybe I'll do the same tactic or be right on time. I usually check the same things online over and over and see no change, listings, when I see one for console, it's usually too late or there's a barrage of messages fighting for it lol

So yeah, def happens. Seems I may need this tactic to actually get a ps3 console set for cheap, otherwise, it's probably the same guy buying up all the consoles and systems

I used FreeMCBoot on my slim PS2 just fine a few years ago, but the laser crapped out on me for using burned discs. I got what I deserved. :p The exploit used by the card was patched out of slim models that came after the one I bought, so I got lucky.

I should try to set up a usb hard drive on this thing...

@Gypsy We did! I'm pretty sure you were the one who convinced me to go the fat PS2 route using the expansion bay, and that has turned out really well. It was a little tricky finding the right hard drive, and a few issues popped up along the way, but, once I got past the learning curve, it was great. Everything plays smoothly now. It's nice, because I have some PS2 games I want to play but don't want to unseal.

Yeah even if I have an open copy of the game I rip it to play it that way. Same for PS3. Helps with load times on PS2 for sure.

Not all games work 100% with OPL. Found out the hard way with Darkwatch, despite saying it can work with certain settings it doesn't load past a certain level. Here's a compatibility list I found after that:

Haunting Ground required one setting to be in place, otherwise, it's a black screen

I went to a small flea market yesterday. I ended up buying a few things, but nothing video game-related unfortunately.

I found an old rusty tin of Crazy Bones. Brought it to the lady selling and she's like "well I counted them and looked on eBay. I'm asking $30". The tin was similar to this, only it was incredibly beat up. I just put it down and walked away. Pricing out on eBay and charging more is not how to move items at a flea market. I hope she brought those home with her yesterday evening laughing out loud

I would have liked to have them since I grew up with these guys, but it was a minor curiosity. I'm more than content with the ones I still have from childhood raspberry

Yet another Neo Geo sale update: I received a short email this morning addressed from the seller's wife. She claimed the items I wanted sold in the Thursday sale and thanked me for my interest. I can say that the sale was cancelled on the website immediately and my friend could not find any sale in the area that day. This continues to smell fishy, especially since it lines up with Troll Brandon's behaviors--wait until the sale has officially passed its expiration date, then inform me that I just happened to miss out on something I wanted. The sale "took place" in the same town where Brandon lives/lived, making it more suspicious. The writing was more polite, but that could just be acting.

I'm getting the sinking feeling that Brandon created a new account (he's been banned twice) to fake a garage sale in order to get my email address and other personal information. If this is all a silly coincidence, great! But I think this guy's getting more psychotic.

There are tons of fake sellers out there, either just trolling or trying to get personal information. I'm guessing it was one of those.

I don't think they ever spelled them with a "k" but I do know they were rebranded in the 2010s as Go-Gos. I picked up a random pack when I saw them, for nostalgia sake, but the actual figures don't look as cool.

I think I might have actually bought a sealed pack from the 90s on eBay many years ago. I wonder if I ever ended up opening it up or kept it sealed?

I sometimes think like I'm in the matrix, and the machine is watching me, but who in their right mind would devote time to a stranger. Guess he needs help in his own life, fist fight haha nah I dunno. You'll get over it, I think there's a world of people and in this life it's the category and the neighborhood that seem to blur the whole world concept, but if it really is that, he's not very good at getting things done if that is indeed the case lol

https://www.imgur.com/a/TVKrxWv

got this, seller had it up for $150. I asked if the price is firm. He said well no. I got back with an offer of $140, I know I can't lowball people. Had to go an hour each way to pick it up. Neverwinter nights collector's edition has no t-shirt I was informed. He told me he kept some of these games for 30 years. I told him I game, I couldn't say, look you kept it for so long, now I'mma just buy and sell. He might figure it out but I told him to pend it yesterday, and he took it down. First older game find in a while. Had southern fried chicken with mushroom gravy (I don't usually do mushrooms) with mashed and garlic toast, and it was just so good. Ha ha, kept me good all day. Told my mom I'd get a good meal, I dunno if a diner is considered a good meal, but it worked out. Made the money this weekend to buy the lot, but now owe for dinner and things, and I'm low on cigs. Let the dice keep on being rolled lol

I just knew I could prob make most of it back on wolfenstein spear of destiny. grrr my space bar is jamming up, and today I see there's a new in seal game there, he took it down too so I couldn't remember all the games, but figured if it's pc and worth a gamble, I got a good eye for that.
