@DrizzDrizzDrizz

Thanks for the deck picture. What's that relic in between the dark star and the preserved insect? I don't recognize it.

My stats:

Ironclad: 90 victories, 68 deaths = 57% winrate
Silent: 66 victories, 90 deaths = 42% winrate
Defect: 59 victories, 69 deaths = 46% winrate
Watcher: 75 victories, 47 deaths = 61% winrate

I'm surprised by my Silent numbers, I feel like I generally do pretty well with her. I do vaguely remember hitting a rough patch with her when I was climbing Ascension and getting stuck for a while, so I guess that was a big part of it. Funnily enough, I have the best win streak with Silent, 18 wins.

No, I meant to say I just take the first option, which I think is 50 gold, instead of taking the gamble on the good face/bad face.

Oh ok, you said you always take the good face so I thought i was missing something haha

Jesus your stats depress me, they're so good, especially since you're doing high ascension runs

Mine are:

Ironclad - 1/34 (lol, i actually thought it was worse)
Silent - 3/17
Defect - 2/5 (just destroyed this last run, cruised by the final battle with awakened one)
Watcher - 1/14

dont laugh at me :(

Membership Card. It actually gives 50% off everything in shops, so cards, potions, and card removes are included! I love getting an early Membership Card.

I'm sure mine didn't look great early on. It took me a little while to get the hang of the game. Once things start to click, you just win more and more.

I'm curious what my stats are. Will check later.

Though I know that my playtime is between 125-200 hours.

I just looked up my stats:

Ironclad:
victories/deaths
4/17

Silent:
4/12

Defect:
4/40

Watcher:
2/3

I'm surprised by this. For having played 100+ hours, I thought I would have had more wins/losses.

My quickest victory was with The Silent, at 1h 57m 39s

Slowest victory was with The Watcher, 3h 12m 01s, but I think that long time was mainly due to the character being new and me learning how to play it.

Actually had a really decent Watcher start, began with a "swap starter relic for random boss relic", ended up being +1 Energy BUT... you can't heal at camp. Not a big deal, right, we chillin. Took vampirism to boot, that was nice, don't think I've ever done bites, but they're good.
Took another relic on boss 1 or 2 that was +1 energy BUT... you can't play more than six cards per turn. No problem, I'm only playing like five a turn anyways!

image

Yeah. Got to phase two of awakened one, couldn't dig well enough for block, took 80 to the dome gg. Still felt like a great run up to that point, been so long since I've made it to Act 3 that I forgot you've gotta be having more than a good run to close it out. :p

Cut through fate is sooooo good, expunger is nice burst too. Sad I didn't get them until late in the run.

All this Slay the Spire talk. It's not right.

I was in middle of Arceus Legends, and now I've put it to the side and returned to Slay the Spire.

Nice. The Defect is fun. I'm currently on A3 for Ironclad. I've played the other characters a lot more than Ironclad, so I'm giving this one more of a go now.

I just lost to the Bronze Automaton in a pretty rolls eyes way. I had 2HP and it had 3HP. I had 2x Combust+ in play (at the end of your turn lose 1 HP and do 7 damage to all enemies). So I lost 2HP. The end. wry smile

Around 75 for me

On A6 with Defect now. Gonna keep going until I hit an inevitable wall, then probably try another character. But I'll need to find a way to jjst play occasionally, it's so addictive it takes over all my gaming lol

Oooo-EEEEeee~

That card is terrible, but damned if it didn't just win me the game on the turn I needed it to.

image

Lots of good artifacts, went for value over smartness and took an item that upgraded all my cards BUT removes healing function from the rest of the game I THINK halfway through Act 2, luckily I was dropping some bombs, I don't think I've throw damage this big around in a run before, pretty nuts. Prostrates and Brilliance+ megagood. Cut throughs STILL too good. But yeah, no heals is kinda rough, eventually you just run outta block.

I generally avoid Runic Dome, but I have to admit that the few times I've taken it, I did fine.

Just 140 damage for 0 energy, no big deal. I haven't taken that card in a while, I'm always afraid I won't be able to play it lol

Same. I even have a couple Ascension wins where I swapped into it right at the start, which was scary. I still avoid it most of the time though, simply because the game isn't as fun when you don't know what the enemies are going to do. It's borderline stressful lol

Technically I didn't even take it, I got it from Good Instincts Metamorphosis, which means it was effectively PURE luck that I cleared that boss. That was Pen Nib, Metamorphosis pulling that, me drawing it, and in wrath without any other attacks in hand. Otherwise I was dust. That was basically a luck meat luck cheese luck bread sandwich.

Trust your instincts. Taking it is always the wrong option, because chances are you WON'T be able to play it and it's a dead card in hand.

GameTZ Subscriber 250 Trade Quintuple Gold Good Trader Global Trader - willing to trade internationally Has Written 2 Reviews
10-May(#148)
I'm guessing you mean Metamorphosis, not good Instincts? I've only used that card in Daily Challenges, it's fun.

I suck at keeping track of Pen Nib and making sure I play the best attack when it procs.

Oop yeah, that one

I think I've purposely timed an attack twice out of all the times I've gotten Pen Nib. This... was not one of them lol

up to A9 with Defect now. This last run wasnt even good, I went back to old habits and hoarded cards, had like 42 by the end, I didn't get a few key ones I expected that I was relying on in previous runs, but in the end i still easily beat the final boss (it was Donu and Deca), even had a lizard's tail to spare (heal 50% upon death). Smooth sailing

Just had a close call. Shelled parasite took out most of my HP. I had just 17 remaining. Luckily, there was a merchant at the next room who had Lee's Waffle (gain 5 max HP, and fully heal).

I'm interested in knowing how people here play regarding defense/hp/potions/future battles.

I had the following scenario:

Distilled chaos potion (play the top 3 cards of your deck)

1 energy remaining

Cards in hand:
Zap
Defend
Strike

A relatively weak enemy attacking for 8

Do you defend and use a strike, taking 3 damage

Or

Do you use distilled chaos (which may or may not defeat the enemy) and avoid damage at all costs? But now you no longer have distilled chaos for future battles.

GameTZ Subscriber 250 Trade Quintuple Gold Good Trader Global Trader - willing to trade internationally Has Written 2 Reviews
11-May(#156)
I'd need more info to say for sure, but I'd almost never use a potion in that scenario. 3 damage just isn't very much, potions can be used for much more value than that.
nonamesleft
Gold Good Trader
* 11-May(#157)
I had a similar thought, that 3 damage isn't too bad and potions can be very valuable. But I was wondering if others play a 'always take the least damage possible' game.

There isn't that much more info I can add. I was fighting two of those beginner armadilloish enemies (when you damage them, they have that ability to roll up for defense)

There was one enemy remaining and it was intending to attack for 8 damage.

All I had was 1 energy, a zap, a defend, and a strike. (And the potion)
Scott
GameTZ Subscriber 250 Trade Quintuple Gold Good Trader Global Trader - willing to trade internationally Has Written 2 Reviews
11-May(#158)
I had a feeling it was an early fight. That would make me even more likely to not use a potion. Since you haven't had much time to develop your deck yet at that point, you're pretty much guaranteed to take some damage on the first few floors. I'd be saving potions for Elites.

A9 run done! Awakened one was no threat, i think this is first time i had zero "channel X Lightning" or multicast (evoke next orb X times), usually those were my go-to moves haha but even without them i was comfortably safe with block, plenty of energy, and doing steady damage each turn, just took a bit longer than usual (like getting 30+ energy and casting that many Lightnings lol)

I used that Block that restores a discarded card a lot too, had a couple of those in deck, definitely helped

I try to think of hp as a resource. You want to spend it in order to improve other aspects of your position. If I end an act with lots of HP, I probably failed to use it wisely. I could have played more aggressively (e.g. fought more elites to get more relics) or done a card upgrade instead of a heal at a campfire.

Of course, there are times, when it's just better to not lose hp in a fight since you gain nothing for it too. Most often, it just seems best to do damage to end a fight sooner even if you lose a little hp since the enemy is usually getting stronger and will hit you hard eventually if you don't kill it quickly.
