I dunno Kunai tbh but it's 1 (or even 2) dex a turn even after it expires, and I played two right away

Grand finale i agree i only took it bc i had just unlocked it the previous run, just wanted to try it. Shockee i managed to play it (only on one enemy though)

Also maybe worth mentioning i didnt have any block retention cards/relics and i focused purely on damage during Wraith

Sometimes you have to time it right. Generally, you want to be ending the fight before it wears off and your dex is lowered. An artifact charge will prevent the dex loss. Also, Orange Pellets can get rid of the dex loss debuff, so those are two combos to look out for any time you get Wraith Form.

Any chance you saved a photo of your deck? Curious to see what was in it.

Wraith Form can be incredible. I've had some really fun runs built around Wraith Form. To be able to tank heavy hitting enemies (including The Heart) is so satisfying.

Biased Cognition (Gain 4 Focus. At the start of each turn, lose 1 Focus.) is a bit like Wraith Form and I do use that card sometimes. I don't usually use it at the start of a fight, though.

I think the game saves this in the logs, i'll try to remember to take a pic next time

I think I've only taken Biased Cognition once. It seemed like a high price to pay, with the potential continual loss per turn if you don't end the match quickly.

Pretty much any hallway fight, and most elite fights, you should be fine playing it as soon as you draw it. You have 4 (5 if upgraded) turns before you start to have a net negative effect from it. You should be able to finish the fight in that time, especially with all of that extra focus! Bosses, you have to be careful to not play it too soon, unless your deck is crazy strong. Having other sources of focus like Defragment and Consume helps offset the loss too.

The Watcher can definitely be tricky. Like playing chess (not my own words. Someone on here said that awhile back)

It's like a math puzzle honestly. Trying to make sure you have the exact damage to switch poses. Pretty taxing until you get it.

A relic idea: happy abacus- your damage is rounded up 3 once a fight for a potential fatal blow to prevent math fail death.

too many cards!

That is indeed a lot of cards. Maybe try to prioritize the card remove option in shops a bit more, at least get those Strikes out of there!

yeah im aware, i said i had 45ish, but hey, the run was successful
For whatever reason i couldnt remove too many, either due to curses or lack of money

If it works, it works!

I used to be quicker to take curses thinking "I'll just remove them in a store", but nowadays I try really hard not to do that because I really want to remove as many Strikes as I can.

Double Gold Good Trader Global Trader - willing to trade internationally Croatia

So you favor removing strikes over blocks? I'm always on the fence about that
And yeah same reasoning here lol

I'm doing a Defect run now and I'm keeping card count low for my standards, let's see how it goes :D

He's the only character I still have any unlocks left (3 of them), i barely played with him but the orbs are pretty fun

It's not just about removing cards as you can only do a few of those per game in most cases. It's also about not always taking a card when offered. e.g. I assume you could look at that deck and eliminate many cards that didn't help you much.

I do agree that a win is a win and there's really no one way to play (part of why this game is fun).

Have you won with Defect yet? If not, I think it will unlock the real ending when you do.

Generally, yes. You need good damage early on, so I'm likely to take a few attacks in Act I, but not as many block cards. So I can't really afford to remove Defends when they're the only block I have, and I don't want to draw Strikes over my better attack cards.

I may remove a Defend over a Strike if my deck is naturally generating a ton of block in other ways (frost orbs with Defect, Mental Fortress and lots of stance switching with Watcher, etc).

Yeah on my 2nd try, that's why I still haven't even unlocked most of the remaining cards/relics

I'm in act 2 now, and have 16 cards, i'm being as disciplined as I can be

Btw what are your guys' W/L ratios?
I was 0/40 i think before my first win, now i'm 6/70 lol

I have more losses recently, so maybe it's slightly less now. Also, my original fumblings with the game were on another device. By the time I started using this, I had gotten better.

I really need to get my Switch copy back so I can try out the Monk.

I have a friend who managed to get all of the relics and whatnot, so the game started giving her the scarf: the do-nothing reward for when you have nothing left to get. She got somewhere north of 100 scarves, I think, before she finally died. It was almost purgatorial: she wanted to start the game over but was too powerful for the game to kill her.

I dont get this, she got all of the relics in one run? How is that even possible?

There's a relic called "Circlet" that only drops if you've exhausted all relics possible from a "pool" during a run. There are shop, boss, event, class etc pools of relics. So some pools are not super hard to exhaust. These circlets stack in your stats and I don't think they do anything.
Scott
GameTZ Subscriber 250 Trade Quintuple Gold Good Trader Global Trader - willing to trade internationally Has Written 2 Reviews

You have to be doing a custom run with the "Endless" modifier. After you win, you start back at Act I with your current deck and all of your relics/potions/gold. You also get a "blight" which has a negative effect on you.

She was playing in Ascension mode (I think. It's been a minute and I'm having trouble remembering.) Basically, once she beat The Heart it just starts over again but a little more difficult.

I've seen some mods etc with lots of gold where folks bought up all the store relics and got some on one run. Not sure it's possible to get one legit on one run though with so many relics / pool. Maybe event if super lucky or shop if you have a gold battery.

I'm fairly certain it's not possible outside of Endless, there are just too many relics.

I've never done an Endless run before, maybe that would be a fun thing to try out soon. At least to get a Circlet.

There are still a handful or relics I haven't obtained yet. I think they're all from that good face/bad face event. I'm a coward so I always just take the good face, and have never obtained any of the bad face relics. I should probably go after those some time soon too.

Do you mean save scumming to avoid bad face or something else, how do you choose good face intentionally otherwise?

Endless run doesn't appeal to me at all but I can see how it would for much better players than me

You can create an endless run and use more custom settings to make yourself a little more Op faster. There was an option for enemies to drop relics instead of cards too.

Thanks for the deck picture. What's that relic in between the dark star and the preserved insect? I don't recognize it.
