GameCube, honestly. The game was built with the Cube in mind. It was delayed so it could get ported to Wii because the GameCube in general just wasn't selling well anymore by that point.

Wii Remote and Nunchuk are implemented well enough, but they are definitely a tacked-on experience.

plus it's mirrored on Wii I hear. Still if you consider how expensive it is on cube and cheap for Wii. I'd get it for wii. I'm personally waiting for a switch remaster. If it never comes, I'll just get it for Wii.

I hear that, it being originally a GC release. Though on the flip side, I'm hearing great things about the Metroid Prime remaster for the Switch, and that was also a GC release.

I wonder which games are especially fun on the Wii, more so than on other systems, simply because of the nunchuk wiimote usage.

Link is a lefty, traditionally.

On the Wii version, they made him right handed to match how the majority of people would use the wii remote.

Doing that might impact how some areas play out (if you are on a narrow mountain pass, you might free be able to swing a sword on your left side, but not the right side because mountain is in the way), so they left/right flipped the whole game world.

Either that or it was easier to flip everything than to reprogram only Link.

I remember going to Best Buy a few weeks after the Wii came out when we heard a rumor of a re-stock. Sure enough, there was a line when we went before opening. We managed to get one, but forgot to grab Twilight Princess, which was just on the shelf. My brother and I were able to get a copy, but our friend wasn't able to at first because all the copies were gone, but then some lady put one back and he snapped that one up.

That was me the last time I played it. Just constant blasts of nostalgia every step of the way.

The Metroid Prime Remaster improved controls by giving the option for modern controls, but kept the options for classic and motion based. I don't recall many options in TP Wii. That said, the Wii version is fine to play. In some areas it's better than the GC version imo, in others not so much. Similar to BotW with Wii U and Switch.
Play it however you can for what you can afford if you want.

I remember being giddy the first time I played TP, but I think it gets a bit tedious. It doesn't hold a candle to OoT in the long run.

TP is the one main line Zelda game I've still never touched. I gotta get my hands on it sometime soon.

You know how in a mirror you're not really seeing what you look like. because you see your right eye on the right, but when you take a picture you see it as other people see you. With your right eye on their left. Basically they "FLIPPED" the entire game. Everything is left is right, and right is left. If link had to make a right turn in the woods, it would be a left turn in the wii version.

yep and as was explained above, they did it bc link has always been left handed. But since the majority of ppl are right handed they mirrored it for the wii since people would hold the wiimote with their right hand. Which would feel weird seeing link hold the sword with his left. I though I'd just add my thoughts on this topic even though it was already answered.

Good way of explaining it. Thanks.

I wonder if people who played the original Nintendo GameCube version noticed the change on the Nintendo Wii version. It's the kind of thing that might slip below the radar for some.

If they bought the official guide they sure noticed. All the maps would have been backwards compared to the game

I'll definitely report back once I've finished the whole game. I'll be honest, I don't LOVE the wolf sections. They're ok, but I'd much rather just play as Link in the Twilight Realm.

Well, at least there's a Kirby game in the bunch. Also, it says "March NSO games", so maybe they will be adding games monthly throughout the year.

Game Boy Burgertime is pretty solid. It isn't as much of an upgrade as Donkey Kong got, but it is good.

Been putting some time into Burgertime, love that game. But yah, they friggin need to get the GB Donkey Kong on here. I don't even care that I played almost the entire thing via emulator recently, I'd play it again so hard if it was on Switch.

I'll give Kirby 2 a go. Meh to the rest. Donkey Kong (94) needs to be added soon. My number 1 GB release and it's not close.

Have they announced if they are releasing any mainline Pokémon games on any of the Online platforms? I'm not a fan, but I'm curious if my kids would play them.

There's a nice looking pin set as a my nintendo reward for metroid prime. Shipping is $7 flat rate unless you buy $50 worth of physical stuff, then it's free. I got the metroid and coin pin sets for 1600 platinum coins.

If you're close they are easy to rack up. There are weekly and monthly tasks that take seconds to do, if that interests you.

They limit it 1 set per account, otherwise I'd have ordered 2. (1 for me and 1 for the kids)

Edit: Just got to thinking, I should check my wife's account and see if she has enough.

I haven't redeemed for any physical rewards in a long time, but went ahead and got the pin set. The Samus one is cool, but would have preferred her gunship or something to the logo.

A friend of mine is looking to get a few Switch games for a couple kids he knows in a low income family. He doesn't know the Switch very well though, so he's asking me for recommendations, and I was wondering if anyone here can help out. I'm trying to think of games that are good, but can be bought used for relatively cheap. Unfortunately, that eliminates most 1st party games. The only one I've thought of so far is Immortals Fenyx Rising. The kids are 9-10. Any suggestions?

Minecraft, Mario vs Rabbids, Lego Games (City, Star Wars, etc), GOAT Game, Untitled Goose Game, Dragonquest Builders, Unraveled 2, Scribblenauts Mega Pack, NES/SNES/GB Online, Blossom Tales, Fall Guys, other free to play games, Super Luckys Tale...

Switch games go on sale all the time. It's easy to rack up a bunch pretty cheap. Buy e-shop cards on sale to increase the discount.
