GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

I didn't plat it just didn't want to miss important stuff. Who you spend time with effects some minor scenes in the sequel, nothing more. I personally couldn't imagine playing any game twice, too many other unique games with so many flavors to play.

Yeah I don't frequently play JRPGs twice that's why I had to ask about the ending thing. For example with Summon Night 5 I knew that had multiple endings so I made sure to get the ending I wanted because I wasn't gonna play that text dump twice.

I don't think I'll miss anything important without a guide.

I think Saturn games' prices trending down may be a real thing. But it could also be all games in general lately.

Could be the holidays forcing people to liquidate some of their collection so supply is going up.

yeah I mean it's never just one thing. But I dig it. I've got a couple really fair deals but SFIII for $140 mint is the best one. Was really surprised and happy. Now just waiting for them to ship smile.

Just gotta be patient on Ebay. There was a mint complete copy of secret of mana (that met my standards) that I looked at that went for $99. Now there is a mint box and papers (but no cart) currently bid up to $125. Some people think "this is the last mint copy that I'll ever see". lol.

All the collectards are hoarding. If the market ever crashes again, they'll panic and cash out just like they did before. On the bright side, with de-regulation and all the financial reforms not passing house and senate, everyone's PRETTY much back to doing precisely what they were doing before the bubble burst, so give it a few more years and things might get bearish again soon. Banks are still "too big to fail".

Anyone here have a pvm that had it shipped? I have multiple auctions watch listed but I'm weary of damage during shipping and was wondering if anyone had any tips.

Also I fell on the damn ice today when I went out to get some groceries and try to fix this copy of Paper Mario (no luck :( ). In so much pain right now. >_<

Long as it's packed properly there's nothing to worry about; CRTs are often flipped around and sideways and they handle travel pretty well; LCDs are more prone to failures and problems in transit.

And I'm sorry to hear you fudgeed yourself up trying to get that stupid disc to work, that's partly my fault for being a bro :(

Keio is prob gonna hit 1300ish, I can't see it going above $1400. Still, too much for my taste. I though I was stretching it at $1K. I think I'd rather spend it at a bunch of other quality stuff

Eh I needed to get groceries for a stew anyway, the game store is actually right there in the same shopping center, but being open Sundays is a new thing for them.

From my personal experience, high rated users is not always a telling sign. I've had buyers with 1000+ no negs not pay on some pretty desirable items I've listed before. One of the unintended consequences of ebay's removal of buyer negs.

I feel like NEC PC Engine demand is really limited here, probably just the handful of people who post here regularly are interested in it, and everyone prob already own it(some model of NEC PC Engine).

Gypsy
GameTZ Gold Subscriber Triple Gold Good Trader Global Trader - willing to trade internationally

Yeah it's pretty niche. The duo would do well on Ebay though I bet.

A big advantage for IFU set-ups is everything being modular, so it's easier to replace something if need be. Also really easy to get parts for and fix a CDROM2.

So ok everyone help me set up my new gaming station. Gonna switch from a 26" to a 32" using composite switchers, vga boxes, etc. .

So my first concern is, I heard back from the makers of the SNES component cables about my video issue. He said it was Y/C separation. Would sending the SNES through this upconverter solve that?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&lo...

Also, I see numerous VGA boxes for Sega Dreamcast, which one is the best? I already have the VGA cables so now I need a box.

So my main goals are having maybe switcher for up to 4 composite or component (would be nice to have 2 of both if possible. Cleaning up old gen composite videos with an HDMI box, and VGA for the DC. I'll probably pick out a nice Vizio or Samsung. With the switcher, I won't need to worry about it only having 1 component connection. Also would be nice to send everything out to a soundbar or something like my Logitech THX 2.1 computer speakers. Need help there.

Gypsy
GameTZ Gold Subscriber Triple Gold Good Trader Global Trader - willing to trade internationally
9-Jan-2017(#271)
Y/C separation is just something that happens with composite video. You can get an external processor, but cheap ones might not even be better than your tv.

If you want to read more: http://www.extron.com/company/article.aspx?id=ntsc...

TL;DR: Just get better cables, composite sucks.

Also jmo but the converter linked to probably isn't any better than the one Lunar bought for $18. So if you do go that route, that's something to keep in mind.

I actually found an article reviewing these damn things for ya.

There are so many of these out there. :S

ErickRPG
GameTZ Subscriber Double Gold Good Trader Global Trader - willing to trade internationally
9-Jan-2017(#273)
So is it possible some TVs might handle Y/C separation better? Is it possible those converters COULD improve it? Or is my only choice to wait until summer and buy a $75 component cable for my SNES from those retrofit guys?

ErickRPG
GameTZ Subscriber Double Gold Good Trader Global Trader - willing to trade internationally
9-Jan-2017(#274)
Well that review just told me the TV's component is better, and S-video wasn't worth it. So now back to square one trying to eek out image quality.

I am planning on setting up a new game space with a nice 40" Sony TV, and I want to be able to hook up about 5-6 systems at once. Can any of those switchers handle BOTH component and composite at the same time?

Gypsy
GameTZ Gold Subscriber Triple Gold Good Trader Global Trader - willing to trade internationally

I thought they were only $45. Do they plan to jack up the price?

And yes it's possible that a device that has better filters would solve the issues enough for you.

Yeah so maybe I'll make sure to try that game if/when I bring home a new Sony. They did mention in the blog it will be with upgraded parts and more expensive but did not mention by how much.

I guess the main thing I need to get is a good switcher and the best dreamcast VGA box. I'm thinking of getting this Sony from last year 43" which was rated pretty well. Cross my fingers at low res handling.

What systems do you have/plan to have Erick?

Edit: Specifically gen VI and back home consoles.

I have every system in my signature. Upstairs I can hook up 2-3 at a time (but shelf only leaves room for 2). Would love to be able to have about 4-5 hooked up downstairs. Say an Super Nintendo, Sega CD, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, and Microsoft Xbox 360 all at once. If I can have 3 upstairs and 4-5 downstairs I won't have to keep taking systems out of boxes.

Downstairs I might er toward newer systems like PS2, and 360. But def want to see if it handles Y/C separation better.

You could get Genesis, SNES and Saturn scart cables, a scart switch, a scart to yuv box and an rgb interface + vga bnc breakout cable and plug all those systems into an rgbhv matrix. Probably looking at about $160 there though.

I'm actually looking to get a scart to yuv box and an extron matrix pretty soon in which case I'd be able to confirm workability. I'm fairly confident those matrices will take component though.

yeah a bit high, I'd rather put that toward the actual TV. The x800d looks like a good TV so I think I'm gonna get one soon and test it out. Gotta clear up some room and move my stuff around.
