new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

Gotta save that $2. Also definitely can't buy SF2 for under $6 and get a free crapty racing game with it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/STREET-FIGHTER-2-F-1GRAND-...-

And I mean I get it the Switch version is fancy and crap, and has online play. However when you are strapped for cash and just want to play it with your dad before he dies (I know it's a lie, but playing along here) you should probably go for any of the numerous cheaper versions.

Anyone have any Xbox 360 Slim/E 250GB system w/power cords available for trade or sale? My system's working fine (other than being hard drive-less until next week, assuming I don't kill that drive too) but it'd probably be a good idea to have a newer model as a back-up. Or an excuse to throw out the Arcade model.

Xbox 360s are dirty cheap on eBay, prob can find one $60-$70 shipped with a crap load of crapty games.

Any less, you got the seller fudging themselves in shipping money.

I'd like to spend as little as possible, so a trade's more appealing to me, even if I lose a bit on value.

I have a bunch of the old ass power bricks but those are for old 360s. I'd throw one your way for cost of shipping which would admittedly be like $6-7.

I'm more interested in a system attached to a power cord. I've already got a dumpy fatty X360, this slim/e-model would either back it up or replace it. smile

Yeah, I can throw a bigger hard drive into that (pretty sure the 4Gs are expandable, yeah?), please check list or name price. smile

I think the only downside to those models are the fact that they can't do BWC titles, so that should be fine, long as other performance and read times for add-on HDDs aren't affected.

Probably have some SNES/SFC titles unlisted, probably not much for PSX/PS2 but I'll post up a list later (right off the top of my head I've got Ultimate Alliance, MGS3: Subsistence and MGS Trilogy boxed available but not listed on PS2). Also have a PS2 fat available, as well as a Logitech wireless PS2 controller with receiver if I recall.

Also have US and Japanese Dreamcast system floating around. Can put a system/game bundle together for the Japanese system.

Thanks dude, SFC/SNES stuff sounds great, I have what you have on your available list now. I will get the system out and test it tonight before agreeing to anything anyways. I do love dreamcast, and my only working console is a black sega sports one I'd rather retire as a momento.

Agreed, a staple of the Sega CD. I don't own a lot of Sega CD discs, mostly CDR my way through that library... But for the cost of a couple beers, I can justify owning it ;)

Yeah the only expensive games I own (PDS, Earthbound, maybe a few more I'm not aware of) I got when they were on retail shelves or bins; I can't imagine spending more than MSRP on a game - it'd have to be magical memory or something I just play the crap out of to justify that. I often think I should sell my expensive games, but then again they are something I'd likely never replace and the physical copies I have are memorable, a replacement down the road probably wouldn't be the same lol

dizanm dave, we can work something out for sure. What is that SFC game in the top left with two X's? Also, why does your SFC Yoshi's island look different than mine?

First question: Akumajo Dracula XX (aka Castlevania: Dracula X)

Second question: Because mine was an English licensed version of the game released in Korea for the Hyundai Super Comboy (happily, plays fine in anything that can play SFC)

Ahhhh danm dude I want that Drac X for sure, let's figure this thing out!!

I can live without that epic yoshi island story for the 400 yen I paid for Yoshi's island while I was there :P

Also, while on the subject of SFC - what do you all do for knowing which game is which on the shelf? I have my games sorted SNES and SFC seperate, so it's just a wall of grey there :P

Don't have enough that I can't just kinda leaf through, like you see, they're in a drawer.

Drac X fetches around $50-60 shipped, probably very close to what I'd value a 360 Slim 4GB at with a controller (I'll obviously need to invest in a hard drive separately but I don't need a controller necessarily unless you happen to have one floating about). Lemme know if you've got any ideas how you'd like to move forward. Counter-points, fighting, whatever smile
Gredler

If you don't mind the controller mismatching I can toss in a white controller with the system + power brick, but I do have a black controller if it's a deal breaker but I love that thing I keep it with my laptop :P

I hunted for Drac XX in japan while I was there, I Was sad not to find it I had 40k yen in hand with drac x written on it, but never found a copy.

I need to get home and test the system, then we can move forward.

I also have a crap ton of 360 games I've been meaning to add to my available, if you're looking for any to go with the system.

For N64 games i just bought premade end labels, but a more ghetto option would be to take a piece of tape and apply it to the top of the cart and write the name on there, like so
