new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

I was comparing RGB and YPbPr on Super Nintendo the other day, and for good measure, Pi3 too. Without a shred of doubt, I can't play SNES on Pi3 after getting used to RGB.

NES looks fine with Pi though.

Nah, sorry, the U.K. Order was my backup, buying preorder in US was the original plan, which was foiled moments before they took down the Walmart listing. So all I have are backups now, haha. Just two. We will see if either work out. Wouldn't be surprised if both fell through

I FULLY expect one to fall through. It's just the way these crapty Nintendo launches go.

Speaking of which, securing that kinda sucked on my bank account after paying eBay prices for an NES Classic to replace one I tossed a friend. *eyeballs P&R*

My favorite episode was the first appearance of Orson and Shiris. The animation in that episode was my first experience with ROLW and I fell in love, like, that started the Great Anime Thirst in my sophomore HS years.

How much trouble is it setting up things because I keep hearing people talking about putting Retro emus for different systems on their Pi? Also, You (or anyone) happen to know if it can only be focused on one system or multiples at a time (on the same card)?

I really love a lot of animation from the 80s. Back when OAVs weren't even really profitable mostly and many were discontinued. There is some real sick stuff in the 90s too from retro style stuff like Giant Robo (my god the animation in this) to Cowboy Bebop. ROLW is fab too. I really mostly dgaf about Japanese animation now. There are some exceptions though.

I'm actually really excited for this anime I'm getting in from Australia.

The Tenchi Muyo OAVs were another favorite of mine. Really well animated and fun, but cut tragically short. The shows that proceeded were pretty lackluster but the first and third movies were pretty tight.

Setting up a Wii is probably easier. Wiis are cheap enough that you could easily dedicate a Wii to that if you wanted too. Would be cheaper than a Pi + power supply + case which really is the minimum you need for a Pi but you'd probably have the rest handy.

Yeah I need to get that set Funi put out before it goes oop. I managed to pick up the movie set for super cheap and on store credit even.

Edit: Oh hey Amazon finally lowered their pre-order price on the new Marmalade boy set (don't @ meeee) to compete with Rightstuf. PRE-ORDERED.

Yeah I was online on their Website as well at that time, deciding if I wanted it or not. I'm still kind of undecided. Hopefully I don't regret that hesitation if I later decide I want it.

Kind of random, but (for those who are into saturn shooters) what do you all think of Soukyugurentei? I finally got around to burning some games I've wanted to play and haven't gotten actual copies of yet and this was in the stack I built and I'm just really surprised I don't hear more about this game; it seems like a better version of Layer Section/LSII. I don't know, I just was surprised by it being as enjoyable as it seems. Anyone have opinions on it? Seems like an especially good title for the price these days, too... now I hope I didn't jinx that.

I finally got most of my GameStop orders (still 1 game left). The 3 games I ordered on Wednesday arrived Friday (2nd fastest order) and 6 of the 7 remaining from my Friday the 14th order arrived today.
Friday's package:
Kamen Rider Dragon Knight Wii - Disc Only, Wrong Case, No Manual
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Wii - Disc & Case, No Manual. Had something blue around the center maybe from cleaning and/or resurfacing. It didn't want to come off will try again later.
Tekken 3 PS1- Took a gamble, Got the correct disc that came with Black Label but now I need the case and manual. Had same blue stuff around the center as well was able to clean it.

Today's package:
Heavenly Sword PS3, Crysis 2 PS3 and BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend XB360 - Disc Only, Wrong Case, No Manual
Infinite Undiscovery XB360 & Disgaea 3 PS3- Disc & Case, No Manual.
Green Day Rockband Plus PS3- Complete (Case, Manual & Game) Even if I got lucky & tried the codes and they happened to work, they wouldn't be able to download thanks to Harmonix removing the RB export option.
My GameStop order completeness tally with one left to go:
Disc Only, Wrong Case, No Manual - 8/15, 53.3%
Disc & Case, No Manual - 3/15, 20%
Complete (Disc, Case & Manual) - 4/15, 26.7%
With these stats and with one game left to arrive unless it's this sale's price range, GameStop is letting me know not to buy Preowned games online through their website.

@KiltedGunstar It's one of my gen 5 favourites. It's also very SATURN. Like Twinbee is awesome but it's not really a Saturn game even though you can play it on Saturn. And yes it's relatively good value. Since you've burned it, I hope you burned off the technically superior version, lol.

I think when I first saw that at Frys for like, $40 a pop (movie and OAV), I was like "YEP", threw the DVDs in one case to give to a friend and kept the Blus for myself.

Tried selling them a few times but I think the fact that I never feel like I'm asking for enough says something about how I feel about them.

Though I have the minimum you listed the Pi 3 + power supply + 3d printed case (that size especially around a port or two is off a little), I also heard they like to heat up if you don't properly vent/cool it since it's like a mini computer.
And I've dealt with setting up a Wii in the past and it was easy then but it's been alot of years since that so I might get another Wii to dedicate and try that in the future, on your suggestion. I know alot of things may have changed since then. So, Any current recommended suggestions on where/how to get started whenever I get around to it?

My knowledge of NES games is limited but these prices look pretty good to me (note prices are likely going to show as CDN):
